Chapter 25: Chapter 24 ~ Powers Unleashed

Jay’s P.O.V

The first thing I noticed when I woke up was that I was incredibly hot. I cracked my eyes open just a little bit to come face to face with a bare muscular chest which immediately had me drooling. The arm that I had wrapped around the delicious toned chest moved so now my hand was resting on hard abs, my fingers spread wide and began to trace the lines between each ab slowly. I was so fixated on the movement of my hand that I didn’t notice the lust filled gaze of the owner of the chest.

“Good morning beautiful,” a husky voice greeted me.

I jumped away from my own personal heat source with a yelp almost falling off the bed in the process but strong arms wrapped around my waist pulling me back. I shyly looked up at Cameron from beneath my eyelashes with a cherry red blush tinting my cheeks. When our eyes locked I saw the amusement and lust swimming around in his eyes. I don’t know if it was possible but I could feel my cheeks getting hotter and redder the longer I looked into is beautiful eyes. My thoughts then shifted to what we had done last night and into the early hours of this morning, just thinking about it made me hungry for more, so I broke eye contact with Cameron and buried my face into his chest trying to hide my lust.

“Good morning.” I mumbled into his chest still fighting the blush on my cheeks. I felt a warm hand clasp onto my chin pulling my head back up so I was once again looking up at Cameron.

“Your blush is adorable,” he kissed both of my cheeks. “Don’t hide it from me.” The hand that he firmly placed on my chin started to gently caress my cheek also bringing my face closer to his, his eyes flickered from my eyes to my lips as our faces drew closer and closer. My breathing picked up and my heart started beating wildly in my chest crashing against my rib cage. Cameron smirked at my frantically beating heart which didn’t show any signs of slowing down.

The distance between our lips wasn’t closing fast enough for my liking. I twisted round so I was now on my knees and pushed Cameron back down on the bed with me following, my hands were placed on both sides of his head and my legs were straddled over his lower torso fully aware that we were both still naked from our night of passion.

I was now the one with the upper hand. I smirked down at him seeing him pinned down on the bed. I bent down slowly putting more of my weight on him bringing my chest down to rest on his with our noses touching, if one of us was to move a centimetre our lips would be touching. I slowly started to grind against Cameron never leaving his eyes that were wide with surprise. My movements sped up a bit causing Cameron to groan; he closed his eyes and started to move his hips to match mine. My head dipped down closing that centimetre between our lips, Cameron’s lips were soft and frantic against mine. I swiped my tongue along Cameron’s lips asking and begging for entrance, he gladly opened his mouth for me and our tongues collided together with need.

“I could get used to this wake up call.” Cameron smiled breaking our kiss.

“Hmm.” I hummed bringing his lips back to mine. I could feel his smile as our kiss deepened.

I was so focused in the movement of our lips and our hips that I didn’t notice the burning pain building up in my stomach as it got more painful my stomach started pulsing sending shock waves of pain throughout my body.

I abruptly pulled away from Cameron gasping in pain and crumbling down on to the bed next to him. My wolf and I whimpered in pain as the fire continued to spread, cold tears streamed down my face soothing my hot skin in its path but the relief didn’t last for long. My body started to tremble, my muscles were tense and my skin felt like it was crawling.

In the background I could barely hear Cameron shouting my name and the pounding of feet on the hard wood floor. All of my senses were starting to fail on me, my eyesight was blurred, my ears were blocked and I couldn’t pick up any sort of scent not matter how hard I tried. I was only aware of the slight tingles running up and down my right arm from Cameron’s caresses.

The fire inside of me was igniting and I could feel that it was about to be released. My body felt frail as I trembled and thrashed around trying to ease the pain but nothing seemed to be working.  The light that I could see was starting to darken slowly sneaking up on me but I refused to give in.

~ Cameron’s P.O.V ~

I watched helplessly from beside our bed as my beautiful mate whimpered, screamed and thrashed about, she looked like she was in so much pain but there was nothing I could do, I tried running my hands over her flesh but it didn’t work.

Tears were threatening to leak out of my eyes from seeing Jay in so much pain and knowing there was nothing I could do to help her. What sort of mate was I if I couldn’t help her? I was a sad excess of a mate.

When Jay first started to whimper I shouted her name but I got no response so I did what any other person would do, I shouted for her family.

Penny, Leon and the triplets came thundering into our room but stopped short once the saw Jay thrashing around.

“What did you do to her you son of a-” Josh shouted storming over to me.

“I didn’t do anything I swear!” I threw my hands up in surrender. “We were just kissing and then she started whimpering. I tried to help her but nothing seems to be working, not even my touch is helping her, she’s not responding to the sound of my voice either.” By this point the tears escaped trickling down my face. “I-I-I feel so helpless.”

“Everything is going to be okay.” Penny interrupted us putting her arm around my shoulder. “I need you to answer me truthfully; did you guys complete the mating process?”

I tensed, “yes.”

“That’s brilliant!” Penny cried. I think she’s starting to lose it. “I know what’s wrong with her now!”

“Well?” The triplets echoed each other.

Penny let out a sigh, “how could you all forget?! Once Cameron and Jay complete the mating process Jay’s full powers will start to come out. I believe that is what is happening now.”

I was somewhat relieved but I couldn’t stop worrying because Jay was in so much pain and there was still nothing I could do.

“How long will she be like this?” I asked gesturing to Jay’s still shivering body.

“I shouldn’t think it’ll be mu-.” Penny never got to finish what she was saying because a bright white light flashed blinding us and knocking us of our feet. I went flying across the room straight into a wall with a loud ‘THUD’ before falling in a heap on the floor.

I tried to open my eyes but the light was still so bright that I was forced to close them again. I was going to have to rely on my hearing, with wobbly legs I managed to stand whilst leaning on the wall for support. Taking several deep breaths I pushed away from the wall and began to stumble my way over to Jay who was still lying on the bed in a ball of light. When I reached the bed I collapsed on to the bed breathing heavily, my body felt like I’d just been through a work out and all I’d done was walk from one side of the room to the other. I lie beside my mate trying to get my breath back to ease my aching lungs. My hand subconsciously entwined with Jay’s and my thumb began to draw lazy circles on the back of her hand.

I’d managed to get my breathing in check and my muscles were now relaxed as I waited for Jay’s powers to finish fusing with her body. I looked around the room while I waited to see that everyone else was still sprawled out on the floor out cold, if I wasn’t so afraid for Jay’s life I would’ve been laughing my arse off at the sight.

After a while nothing really happened so I lost myself in my thoughts just thinking about the future. Where would Jay and I be in 5 years’ time or even in a couple of weeks? Ever since my pack turned up on her doorstep our relationship has changed drastically, not that I’m complaining or anything but it’s just so much to think about. When we first arrived she was hell bent on ignoring me and pushing me away, but here I am now lying beside her as she gets her full powers after we completed the mating process. It’s just mind blowing on how things can change at the snap of your fingers.

I felt Jay’s hand start to tremble in my own then I noticed that her whole body was shaking again but this time Jay didn’t utter a word or a scream. I felt the panic rise in myself, I could handle a scream, a whimper or a yelp but silence I couldn’t handle, silence meant there was nothing. I was about to go into a mental break down when the white light that surrounded Jay started to pulse and slowly disappeared into Jay’s body.  I watched with my eyes the size of saucers; I couldn’t believe what I was seeing one minute the light was there and then it was gone.

The room was now back to normal and the others were starting to stir.

“Urgh!” I heard a groan.

“What the hell happened?” Another voice grumbled.

I wasn’t really listening to what they were saying because I pushed them into the background giving my undivided attention to my mate. Her body stopped shaking and she was now just lying limp on the bed. The only thing that was reassuring me that she was alive was the constant rise and fall of her chest.

~ Jay’s P.O.V ~

I felt like I was fire. I could feel my insides boiling making my skin crawl, it was a feeling that I would never want to live through again for as long as I lived.

My eyes were closed but I wasn’t surrounded by darkness in fact all I could see was white and it was pulsing almost like it had its own heartbeat. The more I tried to figure out what was going on the light got brighter and brighter until it completely disappeared and then I was left in darkness.

My body was no longer burning, my skin was no longer simmering and I felt like I was complete almost like I was full after eating a three course meal.

I didn’t like the darkness that clouded my eyes and my mind; I didn’t like not knowing what was going on and what was going to happen next. I had to try and escape this darkness that suddenly fell upon me.

I tried to open my eyes or at least move my little pinkie but nothing was responding. I kept on trying refusing to give up but still I couldn’t move a single limb and I was starting to get frustrated.

“Relax, take a few deep breaths and let your muscles relax only then will you be able to move your body.” My wolf instructed me. I decided to follow her instructions and relaxed my body. Once my muscles felt like jelly I took another deep breath and forced my eyes open. I was no longer in the dark but was surrounded by light, normal light, and right in front of my face was my mate Cameron. His eyes widened and a massive grin broke out on his face.

“You’re okay!” He shouted sounding like a little kid at Christmas.

“Of course I’m okay, why wouldn’t I be?” I questioned pulling myself up into a sitting position leaning up against the head board.

“You’ve been out of it for over four hours.” He whispered his grin fading. “I was so worried about you.”

“I’m okay! You don’t need to worry anymore.”

“I know but I was still scared.” He mumbled against my neck.

“What even happened anyway?”

“You finally gained your full powers.” Penny said from beside me. Straining my neck I looked over Cameron’s body to find Penny in Leon’s embrace.

“What does that mean for me now?” I asked.

“It means that you need more training.” Leon grinned from ear to ear. I slumped back down on the bed with a groan whilst everyone else laughed at my expense.

~ Two Weeks Later ~

I flopped down on the ground panting, my chest rising and falling rapidly. The grass tickled my sweat covered body as I lie under the baking sun in the back garden of the pack house. Since I finally received my full powers Leon has upped my training and he has been pushing me to the limit, that’s how I ended up here panting like a dog and sweating like a pig. I don’t mind being pushed but recently I haven’t been feeling very well and I’m finding myself tiring faster as each day goes by. Cameron’s noticed this as well and as usual he’s constantly fussing over me but I just tell him that my body is still getting used to my new powers.

A shadow appeared blocking the sun from shining in my eyes.

“Are you alright down there, love?” Cameron asked holding out his hand. I placed my small hand in his large strong one letting him pull me up from the ground.

“Yeah I’m great.” I wheezed.

Cameron laughed but I could still see the concern in his eyes. “I think you need a break. Come on let’s go get you something to drink and eat.” His arm snaked around my waist pulling our bodies closer together leading me into the house and into the kitchen where Penny was once again slaving away behind the stove.

“Hmm… Smells delicious Penny!” Cameron sniffed at the air. I copied his actions but the smell that greeted me made me feel sick to my stomach.

“Thank you dear. Sit down you two and I’ll be with you shortly.” Penny smiled over her shoulder before resuming her cooking.

Cameron pulled out a stool for me to sit down on but before I could get myself comfortable I sprinted out of the kitchen and to the nearest bathroom throwing up everything that I had eaten that morning. Someone pulled my hair back from my face and rubbed my back soothingly.

What the heck is wrong with me?!
