Chapter 8: Chapter 7 ~ The Moon Godess

Jay's P.O.V

I was surrounded by nothing but darkness. There wasn't even a sliver of light anywhere. I screamed out my pack mates names but I got no reply.

What is going on?

I walked around searching for a way out or any sign of life. I screamed in frustration and sat down placing my head in my hands. You need to calm down Jay, calm down.

Taking deep breaths I eventually calmed down and instructed myself to think. After a few minutes everything that happened flashed before my eyes. Running from a green haired Penny, the burning pain, collapsing, my brothers cooling me down and then finally falling into the darkness.

I can't be dead can I? I questioned. When I thought about it, it seemed like it could be a possibility. I mean there's no way that someone could survive that kind of pain. I was so into my thoughts that I didn't notice that I was no longer sat in the dark but in light. I lifted my head up from my hands and looked at where the light was coming from. It was like someone had just opened a door to heaven. I squinted my eyes to see if I could make anything out but I couldn't, the light was too bright.

The light began to fade slightly and I was able to make out a black silhouette, making its way towards me.

"Jessica." The figure said. Judging by the voice I could tell that it was a woman.

"I don't go by that name anymore, its Jay." I replied. "Why am I here? Am I dead?"

The women laughed before answering me. "I can tell you that you are not dead and as to why you are here. I will get to that in a moment." The women stepped out of the light and I was finally able to make her out. Her hair was as white as snow, her eyes were the lightest of blues and her skin was as pale as her hair. Going by her looks she looked like she was in her late twenties and she was quite small for her age, probably the same height as me.

"Please, just tell me why I'm here," I pleaded.

"My child, I was the one that summoned you here."

"What do you mean 'summoned' me here? I don't even know you." I was starting to think this women was crazy or perhaps maybe I had started to lose my marbles.

"I am the moon goddess, the mother of all supernatural beings. I have much to tell you my child." She was the moon goddess?"

"Y-you're the moon goddess?"

"I am indeed. But let's not dwell on that fact, I have much to tell you." I nodded my head. I was still trying to get my head around this; surely if she was here I must be dead. "I have been watching over you for many, many years now and it is finally time for me to tell you about your destiny. You're a very special person Jay and you are the person that is going to save the human race."

"That can't be true. I'm not special I can't even shift!"

"That is not true. The burning pain you were feeling before you found yourself here, that was you shifting Jay. But the pain you went through was worse compared to a normal shift. And that is a sign that you will be powerful and I will tell you about this power later on. Now where was I?"

"I'll be saving the human race." I supplied.

"Ah yes thank you. A great evil will be upon us soon, and it will be threatening the lives of humans. You along with other super naturals must come together to stop it and you, Jay, will be the one to end it all. You are more powerful than you know. I have given you the power of fire. I must apologise that in order for you to hold this power, your fist shift had to be delayed. You see a sixteen year olds body is not strong enough to hold such power and that power is released when you shift, so I had to delay your shift. For that I am truly sorry."

When she finished talking I tried to process the information that she had just told me. I was in the process of shifting for the first time, I now held great power of fire and I was going to save the human race. I don't know about most teenagers but this kind of thing definitely doesn't happen every day.

"What's going to happen when I go back?" I asked finally.

"You will notice that a few things have changed about you but I'm going to let you figure out that on your own. You will also have to keep your temper in check because as you now know you possess the element of fire and getting anger will only unleash it, and you could end up injuring someone or even yourself. And as soon as you wake up you must begin training immediately as the war is almost here. I have to go now. Just remember that I am always watching over you and I wish you good luck." The moon goddess slowly started to walk out of the room.

"Wait!" I shouted. "How do you know that I am the one and I can do this?"

She turned back around and looked me dead in the eye, "I am the one that choose you for this and I have complete faith in you. You must return back to your pack and friends, I believe they are worried about you. Oh and Jay say hello to your wolf for me." With that the moon goddess walked away leaving me in darkness again.

How was I supposed to even get home? Before I could even think of a solution my eyes lids began to feel heavy and a wave of fatigue washed over me. I lowered myself to the ground and as soon as my head was on my arms I feel asleep.

I was awoken by the sound of angry and worried voices surrounding me.

"When is she going to wake up?" A manly voice said.

"It has been days, she should be awake!" Another voice said in frustration.

"I want our sister back Penny," someone cried.

At the mention of 'sister' I realised that it was my boys that were with me and Penny. I tried move my body to tell them that I was awake but my body was aching and it still felt like that it was on fire.

My eyelids were no longer heavy so I tried to open them. They fluttered open to revel that I was in the clinic room in the pack house. I searched the room and found my brothers and Penny in the corner talking, they obviously didn't notice that I was awake.

"Guys," I barked. Wait did I just bark?! Whatever noise I made got their attention as they all rushed over to me. I shoot out of bed and tumbled onto the floor landing on all fours. I looked down at the floor. Instead of seeing hands and feet, I found paws covered in black fur with tints of red amongst the black.  My breathing picked up as I stared at them.

"Jay, you need to calm down." Penny instructed inching her was closer to me. I snapped the gaze over to her and gave her a look as if to say 'are you being serious right now'.

"You should listen to Penny, Jay. She's only trying to help." James said also inching closer to me.

I did as Penny instructed and calmed my breathing. Once I was calm I looked back at all of them and sat down on my hind legs. Wow, it's going to take a while to get used to that I thought to myself.

"You really are a beautiful wolf Jay and your eyes are amazing!" Josh said filling in the silence.

"I'm going to have to agree with Josh on this one." Penny agreed. I looked at the others and they all nodded their heads in agreement.

I wonder what I look like in this form I wondered.

"Do you want to see yourself?" Penny asked. I nodded my big wolf head. "Follow me."

We made our way out of the clinic room and into the main part of the house. As we walked through the house everyone we passed stopped and stared in awe. We soon made it to Penny's room where I knew she had a floor length mirror.

"Go on, have a look." Penny said pushing me towards the mirror. When I was stood in front of it, my jaw dropped. I was huge! I was bigger than the average female wolf and also an alpha wolf. My fur was all jet black with tints of red in some places and my eyes they are still the same light blue, but they now had specks of yellow and orange in them. I was definitely an usual wolf.

I looked away from the mirror a whined.

"What's wrong Jay?" James asked. I stood up on my hind legs to show them that I wanted to be human again. "Do you want to shift back?" I nodded.

"Think of yourself in human form and then relax, so your body can take over the transformation." I did as Penny said and soon my bones were cracking.

"Urge" I groaned once I was back in human form. "That was more painful than I thought it would be." Everyone chuckled.

"It's good to have you back Jay," Jake said engulfing me into a hug.

"It really is sis." Soon I was in the middle of a bear hug with Jake, Josh, James and Penny squishing me in the middle.

"So how long was I out for?" I asked when they had all let go of me.

"You wee out for three days." Penny answered.

"Three days!"

"You must have had loads of dreams." Jake said.

"No just one actually, but it wasn't a dream." I answered.

"What do you mean Jay?" I proceeded to tell them about what the moon goddess had told me and what she said about me.

"So what does the moon goddess mean?" Penny asked.

"She means that a war is coming and we are going to be the ones that save the human race."
