I try to move to the side and create some space between us, but Jason places both his hands on the wall stopping me.
"Christina." Jason's voice is husky and filled with lust, and I bite my bottom lip unconsciously. I watch as his eyes drift down to my lips. He moves closer to me leaving only an inch between us. My breathing has become ragged and the smirk on his face clearly indicates that he finds my discomfort amusing. He focuses back on my lips, and tilts his head as he leans in to kiss me. Right as our lips are a mere centimeters apart, my phone goes off.
"Ignore it." He whispers against my ear. I felt my knees getting weak as he slowly trailed kisses along my jaw. The phone stops ringing and I find myself in a daze. All I see and feel is Jason. His mere presence consumed me and it was frightening. He gently caresses my face as he places butterfly kisses on my forehead.
He stares at me longing evident in his eyes, before his gaze makes it way back to my lips. My phone goes off again causing Jason to stop and look down at the floor. He pushes off the wall and backs off of me. He watches me closely as I answer the call.
"Hello this is Christina."
"Christina hi, it's Preston."
"Oh Mr. Maxwell it's nice to hear from you."
Jason winks at me before he turns around and heads upstairs. Releasing the breath I hadn't known I was holding, I walk towards the living room and have a seat.
"So you want me to come meet you tomorrow?"
"Yes is that a problem Ms. Munoz?"
"No sir, I'll be there. Do you need me to bring April as well?"
"No I just need you for tomorrow. I want you to meet your runway coach."
"Oh wow that sounds like fun."
I hear him laugh on the other end, "that's what they all say Christina, anyway I'll see you tomorrow."
"Okay bye." I place the phone down and sigh. What would have happened between Jason and I if Mr. Maxwell hadn't called? I shook my head trying to get rid of the thought. I should be thinking about Aiden. I have never been one to cheat on anyone, and I wasn't going to start now. The thing is I work with Jason, so I have to figure out how to maintain a professional relationship even though what just happened was anything but professional.
I head up to my room, and see Jason waiting by the door.
"Jason what are you doing here?"
"Nothing," he says leaning against the wall. I opened my door, and before I went in I turned to face him.
"Can I help you or are you going to stand outside my door."
"Come to my room tonight." I could feel my heart beating fast in my chest as I processed what Jason just asked.
"Excuse me?"
"My team set a launch date so I want to go over some details with you that is unless you had other things in mind." He raises his eyebrows in a suggestive manner, which causes me to punch his arm.
"No I'm good, I'll see you later." Jason smiles and walks down the hall. I enter my room and turn on the TV. I figured I'd watch a movie to kill some time before I had to go and meet Jason. Thank god for the Lifetime Movie Network, because I couldn't decide which movie to watch. When the movie was done, I looked at the time and saw that it was ten o'clock.
I sighed and got off my bed to change my clothes. Once I had my pajama bottoms on and a tank top, I dragged myself down to Jason's room. As I approached his room, I could hear him on the phone.
"Yes I knew she was dating Aiden Maxwell."
"Why didn't I tell you, why is it any of your concern?" Why is Jason discussing my personal life, and who is he discussing it with? I knocked on the door, and I heard him ending the call. He opens the door while stuffing his phone into his back pocket.
"Hey Christina glad you could make it." I enter his room without saying a word and sit on his couch.
"Okay," he says rubbing the back of his head.
"Just tell me why I'm here Jason I'd like to get back to my room as soon as possible."
"No problem." He takes a seat next to me and brings out a file of documents.
"Well first we need to discuss the launch of the line. The date is set for July 21st."
"So we have three weeks to prepare then."
"Yes, but we have a problem. Since you signed a contract with Maxwell model's, they need to have you debut first."
'Why," I ask confused.
"Well Christina it will help both your agency and my brand." I raise my eyebrows at Jason not seeing where he is going with this.
"You seriously still don't get it, wow your dense." I stand up and begin to walk towards the door. Jason follows me and pulls my hand. "Okay Christina I'm sorry. I didn't mean that really, now will you please sit down so that we can finish our discussion."
I shake my hand out of his and walk back over to his couch. "Go on."
"Back to what I was saying, if you debut under Maxwell Model's it will create buzz in the fashion world. Many designers are always looking for models from your agency because it's a very prestigious agency. Since I already have you as the face of my line, your popularity as well as mine will increase."
"How so, you said this was your first clothing line."
"Yes, but as a model myself, and the son of Gloria Anderson, my name is also very famous in the world of fashion. The press will call it the collaboration of the year.
"Why?"
"My mother has never worked with anyone from Maxwell Model's, so it'll be a pretty big deal."
"Oh okay I guess that makes sense."
"Good so you need to debut first. Do you have any idea when that is going to happen?"
"Actually no I don't. I have a meeting tomorrow with Aiden's father to meet my runway coach. Why don't you tag along and pitch your idea to him. He has no idea that I'm already the face of a clothing line, so maybe you have some details you need to discuss with him."
Jason smiled at me and looked genuinely excited.
"Really? Thanks for the invite."
"It's not like I had a choice. I would have to tell my management anyway."
"Yeah I guess you're right."
I folded my hands across my stomach. "Well do you have anything else that you need to discuss with me?"
"No we'll talk more after I have a meeting with Mr. Maxwell."
"Oh okay. There was a moment in of awkward silence which filled the room. "I talked to Amanda today."
"So did I."
"Well I apologized, and when she saw that Aiden was my boyfriend, she acted all fake, saying that she and I go way back and that she was my friend."
Jason chuckled and picked up his phone. "You should see the texts she sent me when she found out. I didn't reply to any of them so she called me right before you walked in."
"Does she have a problem?"
"I wouldn't say problem, she just doesn't' understand why Aiden would go for a girl like you."
I raised my eyebrows at Jason, and he picked up what I was about to say."
"I'm not saying that anything is wrong with you, I'm just repeating what she said to me. I think you're great, but of course you already knew that.
"Jason." I remembered what had transpired downstairs and I knew I had to draw the line.
"I know you already have a boyfriend, you've made that painfully clear."
"I wasn't going to say that."
"Oh well then forget about what I said."
"I can't." I looked down at my hands as I fiddled with my fingers taking a deep breath.
"Why Christina? You've made it painfully clear where you stand with our relationship."
"Yes and yet you continue to find ways to confuse me. You can't push me up against a wall, kiss me and act like its nothing. Is toying with my emotions a sick game for you."
"No Christina, sometimes I just can't help myself."
All jokes aside, Jason was serious, that much was clear.
I looked at the clock and stood up. "Well it's getting late. I better head back to my room and catch some sleep."
"Yeah me too," he said while stretching.
I walked over to the door and stopped before opening it. "I'll see you tomorrow okay." Jason nodded his head and smiled at me before I left his room.
Once I'm back in my room, I turn off my lights and head to sleep. As I lay on the bed I find that I can't sleep, and that all I can think about is Jason. I pull a pillow and smack my face with it. Great now I have to spend the day with him tomorrow. I just hope nothing goes wrong.
As I attempt to sleep, my phone goes off and I see a message from Aiden
"Goodnight sweetheart."
"Night babe."
"I can't wait to see you tomorrow."
"You can see me right now."
I decide to facetime Aiden in bed and he immediately picks up.
"Well this is better than a text that's for sure."
He looked so sexy sitting up in his bed with his shirt off. His abs clearly defined as he gave me a sexy grin.
"I couldn't agree more."
"It would be better if you didn't have that tank top on."
"Is that right Mr. Maxwell." I said his name in a sultry low voice and I watched as he adjusted himself in bed.
"I love it when you say my name like that."
"Oh really?"
"Yes, I'm a little turned on."
"Well let me help you out with your little problem then." I had Aiden's complete attention as I slipped off my tank top leaving myself bare for him again. Aiden licked his lips as he ran his hands through his hair.
"Damn I wish you were here right now. This screen isn't doing you any justice."
I laughed as I bit my bottom lip.
"Do you like what you see."
"Fuck yes."
"Well I guess..." Before I finish my thought, my door barged open and I saw a very surprised Jason staring at my naked body.
