Chapter 178
When Xavier returned to Dewberry Manor, all the flowers that had too much pollen had been removed.
Yvette thought Daphne would return with him that day and see what he had done. To her surprise, he came back alone.
âHave you eaten?â Xavier asked when he saw her sitting in the living room alone. She was writing something.
Yvette nodded. âYeah, I have.â
He looked toward the dining table, and it looked clean.
âI thought you werenât coming back today, so I didnât prepare anything for you,â she said.
In the past, she had always prepared his favorite food, regardless of whether he was returning or not.
Most of the time, he wouldnât touch the food at all.
After Yvette had gone abroad, she had had Noah and Zachary.
Since she had to plan her future, she had always worked a lot. So, Viola was in charge of cooking. Yvette wasnât planning to go back to her cooking days anymore.
Xavier didnât react much. âMe too.â
That was a lie. He had come home early today, thinking that she might have prepared dinner. So, he
hadnât eaten anything at all.
âThatâs good.â Then, she added, âKiki caught a cold, so Iâm going to the hospital with her later.â
She was actually using that as an excuse to check if it was an appropriate time for her to get pregnant.
Xavier didnât suspect her at all.
Yvette took the car to the hospital, where Kiki had been waiting for a while. âIâve already taken a number, and you can go in for the examination now,â the latter said.
âAlright.â Yvette grabbed the number and went for her examination. She received the result after an hour. It turned out that it would be fine for her to get pregnant within the next few days.
As they walked out of the hospital, Kiki grabbed a box of pills from her pocket and passed it to Yvette.â Here you go, Yvvy.â
Yvette was confused, and she took a closer look at the pills. They were something that a pharmacist would prescribe to a man to make him more vigorous. Yvetteâs face blushed brightly when she noticed what they were.
âWe donât need it.â
âWhy? What if he canât do it?â Kiki lowered her voice and said, âSome men wonât be able to do it when theyâre too drunk. No. Technically, most men are like thatâ¦â
Although Yvette felt awkward about it, she still sneakily kept the pills. She also didnât want her plans to be
incomplete. âIf I give him this, will it affect the child?â
âNo, Iâve asked a doctor about it earlier. Some men have to rely on this to impregnate their wives,â Kiki

said confidently.
Yvette thought Kiki didnât look like someone who had only dated once. âYouâre really impressive, Kiki.â
âOf course.â Kiki looked proud. âDo your best tonight.â
âYeah.â
After she returned to Dewberry Manor, Yvette would have to think of a way to please Xavier. Then, she would need to get him to drink some wine before she made her move.
If she were to succeed this time, she couldnât let him hide in his room again.
Meanwhile, Xavier was still in the living room at Dewberry Manor. He looked at the clock on the wall and noticed it was already 9:00 pm. He wondered why Yvette hadnât re
