Chapter 189

After Yvette ended the call, Claude called her. She hurriedly answered, and he said, “I brought Andy to see Daphne again today.”

Her heart skipped a beat, and she wondered if Andy really was the one who hurt Daphne.

“That woman actually wanted to kill him. If it hadn’t been for my men, he would’ve died today.”

Claude told Yvette that he had wanted Andy to see Daphne’s true colors. So, he had kept telling his men to arrange a meet–up for them.

However, the foolish man, Andy, had been unwilling to believe it. He had even gone all the way to Daphne’s house that day.

At first, she had pretended to comfort him. Then, she had drugged him with some sleeping pills. After he had fallen into deep sleep, she had turned on the gas to cause an accident that would kill him.

Unfortunately for her, Claude’s men had found out what was happening and took her away by force. Daphne had been afraid and started hurting herself. She had even accused Andy first by saying that a fanboy had trespassed her house and hurt her.

After hearing what had happened, Yvette was in shock. She had never expected Daphne to be so cruel!

Yvette’s hunch had been right from the beginning. Daphne had hurt herself to put on an act!

When Claude didn’t hear any response from Yvette, he couldn’t help worrying. “Are you alright, Yvvy?”

“I’m fine.” She returned to her senses. “I just didn’t expect her to be so cruel.”

“She must have some tricks up her sleeves since she managed to get where she is today as an orphan.” Upon saying that, Claude’s eyes flashed with a weird emotion. “You have to watch out for people like her.”

He paused for a moment and carefully asked, “Are you done with your plan?”

Yvette told him the truth. “I’ve got it.”

“Alright. In that case, I’ll get Noah out of there as soon as possible. Then, we can return to Asnea.”

Yvette had become slightly worried after seeing where Noah was being held.

The security there was tight, and it was entirely different from a hospital. It definitely wouldn’t be easy for Claude to break him out of there.

“Can we wait for a few more days? I’ll think of a way to make Xavier let Noah go himself.”

Yvette was worried that Claude might get hurt or offend Xavier because of her. She owed him too much.

Meanwhile, Claude gulped as he stood on the balcony and looked at the night sky. Ray had told him how Yvette and Xavier had been staying together and looked intimate.

Claude knew that she was doing this to get pregnant. However, he was still a man.

No man could stand seeing the woman they liked being with another man.

“Sure.” In the end, he still chose to respect Yvette’s decision.

After ending the call, he turned around and looked at Andy. The latter had just woken up on the hospital

Andy’s gaze looked empty as he muttered, “I gave up on my fiancée, who had loved me for eight years, for her. I even gave her all of my money and hurt someone else for her. But she actually wanted me dead!”

Claude calmly walked to him. “So, do you have regrets now?”

Andy looked back at him. “Of course! I want to kill her badly now!”

Claude left the room without saying anything else. When the row of bodyguards outside saw him coming out, they bowed.

As he left the hospital, he thought about how he wouldn’t regret it if Yvette chose to be with Xavier in the

end.

No one had forced him to like her. It was his own choice. If he didn’t like her anymore, he would still treat her well because they would still be friends.

Suddenly, a luxurious car stopped in front of him, and the window was opened. A dashing man’s face came into Claude’s view. “Get in, Claude.”

It was Yerick.

When Claude had been abroad, Yerick had managed the business in Tirion.

After Claude got in the car, Yerick sighed. “Recently, some of our projects have flopped. Xavier told someone to sabotage us. He’s determined to go against you.

“We can still cover the losses ourselves, but we’ll be doomed if the elders abroad find out about it.”
