Chapter 225

As Yvette took a walk with Noah at Fortian Manor, she kept looking at the cameras around them. As expected, it was just the way he had drawn them.

When they came to a secluded area, she crouched next to him and said, “Noah, there’s something I want to talk to you about.”

“Okay.”

“I’m planning to take you home after a few days. So, I need you to prepare yourself in the meantime, alright?”

Noah nodded. “Sure.”

She smiled and ruffled his hair. “However, it’ll be our little secret. You can’t tell anyone about it, not even the nannies or Mr. Xavier. Pinky promise?” She held up her finger.

He went with her flow. “It’s a deal,”

Yvette was still worried. After all, Noah was still young. However, if she didn’t tell him about it, it would be terrible if something happened during their escape.

Noah knew what she was worried about, so he looked at her innocently with his big eyes.

He lowered his voice and whispered in her ear, “Mom, I know Mr. Xavier abducted me for money. I’m not that dumb.”

Yvette was stunned. At the same time, she was amused by what he had said.

Since it was hard for her to explain the situation, she just went along with it. “Yeah. That’s why you have to take good care of yourself when you’re alone here.”

He patted his chest and said, “Don’t worry, Mom.”

At that moment, Yvette took out a micro communication device and installed it in his shirt. “Baby, I’ll contact you with this before we leave. Can you promise not to let anyone see this?”

“Yes. I promise the mission will be a success.” He smiled brightly.

Before she left, Yvette hugged him, reluctant to leave.

Xavier stood on the second floor and watched them from afar. There was a complicated took in his eyes.

Mark knocked on the door and entered the room. “Mr Lane, the legal department has finished arranging the asset transfer you requested previously.”

When Xavier heard that, he turned to Mark and said, “Got it.”

“Shall I tell Ms. Snyder about it now?” the latter asked.

Xavier turned back to look at Yvette and Noah. Then, he suddenly realized that they were gone from his sight. Without answering Mark, he immediately left the room to look for them.

When he got out of the building, he saw Yvette standing in front of him with Noah. Seeing that they hadn’t escaped, he could finally relax.

Noah even obediently greeted him, “Hi, Mr. Xavier.”

“Hey.”

Yvette told Noah to go to the nannies, and he hugged her, unwilling to let go. “I’ll miss you, Mom. See you next time,”

After Yvette got in the car with Xavier, Mark followed behind them. Then, she noticed they weren’t going back to the mansion. “Where are we going?”

“To the office.”

After more than an hour, they walked into the CEO’s office at Lane Group. Mark brought the documents that Xavier had requested and gave them to Yvette.

She accepted them in confusion. Then, she immediately saw the title on the cover page. It was a transfer agreement.

She flipped through it, and it was all about the company that had belonged to the Snyder family previously. There were also some ongoing projects on it. After reading it all, she finally realized that Xavier was planning to transfer everything to her.

“If there’s nothing wrong after you’ve read through it, you can sign it,” he said.

When he had agreed to marry her back then, everyone had said that he had done it for authority and money. They had thought that he had wanted to make himself powerful so that he could defend his position as the head of the company.

Most importantly, everyone outside of the industry had known that Terrence was useless. So, Xavier would eventually gain control of all the Snyders‘ assets once he married Yvette.

What had happened next had been exactly how everyone had imagined it to be. Xavier had taken over everything. However, Yvette knew he hadn’t used his position as her husband to do that; he had it with his own capabilities.

She passed the documents back to him. “What’s the meaning of this?”
