Chapter 260
Surprisingly, the foreigners they behind them didnât come after them.
Once outside, Yvette gasped for air. As she looked up. Xavier noticed the marks on her face. âWhat happened?â he asked.
âIâm fine.â Yvette roughly understood what he was asking from his lip movements.
Not wanting to discuss anything with Xavier at this moment, she released his hand and walked toward the crowd.
Xavier quickly stepped to her side, grabbing her hand. âDid someone hit you?â
He had been following Yvette these past few days. Today, he had followed along upon seeing her go to the hotel and had witnessed the incident in the hallway.
âLet go of me.â Yvette didnât want him to see her in this vulnerable state.
Xavier refused to let go. With his large hand, he grasped her chin, checking the prominent handprint on her face.
Glancing back at the hotel entrance, he noticed two foreign men still watching them. Xavier immediately understood the situation. Ignoring Yvetteâs resistance, he scooped her up and put her in the car.
He didnât bother speaking when he noticed Yvette had dropped her hearing aid and couldnât hear him.
As he held onto her with one hand, he typed an address with the other and sent it to someone before he
made a call.
âSurround this place and find out who laid their hands on Yvette. Donât let even one person escape!â
After hanging up, he instructed the driver to head to the nearest hospital.
When Yvette noticed the hospital not far away, there was a flash of panic in her eyes. âI donât want to go to the hospital. Let me out.â
It would be bad if they went to the hospital and he found out she was pregnant.
However, Xavier held her wrist firmly. âBe good!â
âI donât want to go to the hospital. Let me out!â Yvette shouted at him.
Xavierâs eyes flickered with surprise.
Even the driver was shocked. He didnât think anyone would dare yell at Xavier.
Contrary to expectations, Xavier didnât get angry. He simply avoided Yvetteâs gaze by looking straight ahead, keeping mum as he pressed his lips tightly together.
Yvette used her right hand to try and pry his fingers off, even making his fingers bleed. Still, he didnât loosen his grip at all.
Left with no choice, she steeled herself and bit down hard on his hand.
Xavier gasped in pain. âAre you a dog?â
Yvette loosened her bite slightly, looking at him, Indicating he should let go.

Xavier only raised an eyebrow. âIf you like biting, go ahead.â
Realizing he wouldnât release her, Yvette slowly opened her mouth, revealing the clear teeth marks on Xavierâs hand. She quietly turned her head to look out the window.
Xavier would have preferred her to continue biting him rather than seeing her like this.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Xavier handed her over to the doctor.
Yvette explained she had been slapped, lost her hearing aid, and had a ringing in her ear. She didnât allow the doctor to perform any additional checks.
The doctor provided a simple treatment. After Yvette put her hearing aid back in, she could hear her surroundings again.
Xavier was standing in the hospital corridor, speaking on the phone with his subordinates. Yvette couldnât hear his conversation.
When Yvette walked out, he immediately hung up.
âThank you,â Yvette said.
Seeing her face no longer swollen after she had applied some medication, Xavier extended his hand. Letâs go. Iâll take you home.â
However, Yvette avoided his hand. âNo need. Iâll go back by myself.â
Xavierâs hand froze in midâair as he watched her leave the hospital alone and take a cab to return to her rented apartment.
Xavierâs car followed her all the way.
He kept thinking about how she hadnât abandoned him and had even taken him along as they had fled back at the hotel.
Yvette had painstakingly found him alone
He also recalled the time he had been trapped in Dibay, and When he embraced her then, it felt like heâd had the whole world.
He received a call from Mark just then.
When Xavier answered the phone, he heard Mark say, âMr. Lane, the paternity test results are in.â
