After sending Mark, the bodyguards, and the maids off, Yvette went back to her room.

She had previously arranged for Noah to be admitted to hospital. As for Zachary, he was currently reading in the children’s room.

The most pressing issue right now was figuring out how she would break the news about Xavier living with them to Zachary.

Yvette went to Viola’s room first and told her what had just happened.

Viola took Yvette’s hand gently. “You have to take care of me and the children on your own as it is. How can you take care of him, too? The Lanes really are too much.”

Viola had once thought that rich families were sure to be more generous than ordinary families.

However, she had realized that the richer people were, the more petty and calculating they were.

“I won’t take care of Xavier. When he comes, I’ll make him do everything himself.”

Yvette told Viola what she was worried about. “Zac and Noah still don’t know about who their dad is. If Xavier comes and lives here, I won’t know how to explain it to them.

“Noah’s met Xavier before, and it’ll be easier to trick him. Besides, he’s at the hospital all the time now. Zac is more precocious than other children, and I’m afraid that he’ll discover something.”

Viola didn’t know what to do, either.

“I’ll come to get Zac right now. It just so happens that ”

They were running out of time, so Yvette interrupted her. “Alright, I’ll drive him halfway there, and we can

meet in the middle.”

“Alright.”

After they had reached an agreement, Yvette updated Viola at once and swiftly went to pack Zachary’s

things.

Zachary had been reading in the room, and he had seen everything that had transpired that day through the window.

He meekly stood on the spot and didn’t ask Yvette why she was sending him to Kiki’s place. “Mom, you and Grandma take care of yourselves at home, alright?”

“Okay, we will.” Yvette hugged him, her heart aching for him.

She drove Zachary to the halfway point where Kiki met them, and he got into Kiki’s car.

Kiki’s eyes were troubled throughout the entire journey. “Kiki, did you go through a breakup?” Zachary asked.

Kiki was startled. “How could that be possible? I haven’t even been dating anyone.”

“If you’re unhappy, then just cry and let it all out.” Zachary looked perfectly composed.

For some reason, Kiki couldn’t hold back any longer after hearing what he had said. “Zac, are you going to become a bad man when you grow up?”

“I don’t know, but even if I become bad, I’ll still treat you and Mom well,” Zachary said gently.

Kiki’s eyes reddened at once. “Hmph. How could you be such a smooth talker at such a young age? You’ll definitely become a playboy in the future.”

Zachary lifted his small hand and took hers. “Kiki, you’re going to find someone who cares for you. If not, Mom and I will.”

He added, “Thank you for always helping Mom and I. If there’s anything that I can do, I’ll definitely help.”

Kiki rubbed her reddened eyes and immediately cheered up. “You said it. You’re not allowed to take it back.”

Zachary suddenly felt like Kiki had just been acting that way to make him say those words to her.
