Chapter 320

It felt like Yvette had just removed her hand from a freezer when she placed it on Xavier’s chest. He stopped in his tracks.

He didn’t feel cold at all. Instead, he could feel his blood pumping throughout his body.

Yvette didn’t have anywhere else to place her other hand, and she accidentally touched his face. It was burning. “You’re having a fever, Xavier,” she weakly said.

It was freezing that day, but Xavier’s face was hot to the touch. So, she figured he was having a fever.

Xavier pursed his lips and gulped. “I meant what I said last night.”

She couldn’t hear what he said and only saw his mouth moving. So, she gave him a perfunctory answer.” Yeah.”

Xavier walked faster. When they finally reached home, Viola saw them covered in snow. She quickly got them a towel and asked, “Why did you come home so late?”

Xavier accepted the towel and helped Yvette wipe away the snow. Yvette was so cold that she couldn’t mové. However, she still comforted Viola.

Since she didn’t want Viola to worry about her, she didn’t mention her hearing had worsened. Instead, she hurriedly said, “It’s getting late, Viola. You should get some rest. I didn’t realize how late it was when I came back, and the car broke down on the road.”

“Alright. Have a warm bath later.”

Viola didn’t rest at all. Instead, she walked to the kitchen and made Yvette some ginger tea to help get rid of the cold.

Xavier took Yvette back to her room and placed her on the couch. Then, he found her some clean

clothes. “I’ll prepare the bath. Take off your clothes now. After you’re done bathing, you can change into these.”

Yvette looked at his lips‘ movement and what he was doing. She thought he was telling her to get changed. “Alright. You should get changed too.”

Xavier answered with an alluring hum. He didn’t get changed. Instead, he grabbed his bathrobe and walked to the bathroom in Yvette’s room to take a shower.

She couldn’t hear anything as she stiffly changed into the fresh set of clothes. Then, she wrapped herself in a blanket and curled up on the couch. It felt warm in the room. After a short while, she started feeling sleepy, and her eyes started closing.

Xavier came out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around him. Then, he carried her in his arms.

When Yvette was lifted into the air, she couldn’t help opening her eyes. Then, she accidentally touched his strong arms and woke up immediately. “What are you doing? Put me down now.”

“The water is ready. I’m taking you to take a bath now,” he said.

She couldn’t hear him clearly. “Put me down and leave now.”

He carried her tightly and entered the bathroom. “Why aren’t you taking your clothes off yet?” He thought

Xavier put on his bathrobe and opened the door. Then, he saw Viola’s cold gaze. “What did you do to Yvvy?”

Just as she was about to lecture him, she suddenly felt lightheaded. Then, she almost fell to the ground. “Viola!” Yvette hurriedly put on her clothes and ran out of the bathroom.

Half an hour later, Mark came over in the snow at midnight. He had brought over a doctor to examine Viola.

Meanwhile, Yvette took some pills outside the room. As her body warmed up, she slowly regained her hearing.

Xavier finally realized that he had misunderstood her. Yvette hadn’t wanted to do anything with him at all. She just hadn’t been able to hear anything.
