Chapter 329
Upon hearing Jackieâs words, Daphne lost her resolve. She kneeled in front of Yvette as Kiki watched.
Yvvy, Iâm sorry.â
Yvette was shocked by the scene in front of her.
The first thought Kiki had was that Daphne must have some ulterior motive. âDaphne, what are you up
to this time?â
Daphne ignored her and bowed toward Yvette, making a loud sound as her forehead hit the floor. âI was wrong. I shouldnât have pretended to save Madam Shannon and Tristan in your place, nor should I have targeted you. Iâm sorry. I hope you forgive me.
Yvette didnât know why Daphne was doing this. From what she knew about Daphne, the latter would never bow to her unless she was desperate.
Meanwhile, Daphne was still on the ground, and her eyes had turned red. It wasnât from guilt; it was because of jealousy and anger.
Why should she apologize to Yvette? One day, she would make Yvette kneel at her feet!
Yvette proceeded to walk up to Daphne. âNo matter why you came to apologize, I wonât forgive you. You can leave now.â
She didnât want Zachary, who was in the house, to see this scene.
Hearing Yvetteâs words, Daphne quickly got up and left reluctantly.
âSheâs leaving already?â Kiki was a bit confused. âDid she really turn over a new leaf?â
Yvette shook her head. âOf course not. I can tell she wasnât sincerely apologizing.â
âI donât know either.â
After leaving, Daphne balled her fists tight. She walked up to a black Bentley. âIs that enough?â she growled.
The car window lowered, revealing Jackieâs cold face. âAlthough you did it reluctantly, you have completed the task Mr. Lane gave you. I will report truthfully.â
After speaking, Jackie signaled for the driver to start the car.
However, Daphne stopped her. âIâve never seen you before. Why are you with Xav? Whereâs Mark?â Jackie remained calm, a cold smile curling at the corner of her mouth. âThis only proves that you arenât close to Mr. Lane. Otherwise, how could you not know of my existence?â
Daphne was at a loss for words.
Soon, the black Bentley sped away.
As Jackie sat in the car, she watched Daphneâs unwilling expression in the rearview mirror and began to get lost in her thoughts.

Terrence had not seen her so determined since the last time she had attempted to end her life. He couldnât help but sneer. âWhy should I?â
Yvette didnât waste her time saying another word. She handed him the will that James had left behind. âThis is the will that Dad made behind your and Madam Yaraâs back.â
Terrence was initially stunned. Then, he took it and read it, his eyes widening in shock.
James had actually made alternative plans. He intended to leave all his businesses to⦠Yvette?
The will not only had Jamesâ signature but also his official seal and fingerprint, making it undeniably
authentic.
Without a second thought, Terrence tore the will to shreds. âThatâs impossible! How could Dad leave all his businesses to a deaf person like you?â
âThis is just a copy. If you like tearing it up, I can print more for you to tear!â Yvette took out several more copies of the will and threw them in front of Terrence.
Terrence wasnât so dumb that he would do that. He had been shortâtempered from a young age and was absolutely furious now. He grabbed Yvette by the throat. âYou bitch!â
Yvette was already used to this. Since she had returned to Snyder Residence, Terrence had never treated her as his biological sister. Yara had always told him that Yvette was a useless cripple unworthy of being his sister.
Growing up, Terrence had been allowed to beat Yvette due to Yaraâs favoritism. That had fostered his current violent nature, where he resolved issues with force.
âIâm starting to regret it now.â Yvette spoke weakly as Terrence choked her.
Terrence smiled arrogantly at her words. âGood that you regret threatening me. I could beat you to death when we were kids, and I can do it now.â
âI regret not bringing out the will sooner,â Yvette continued.
Terrence was instantly infuriated and raised his hand to strike Yvette. But in the next second, a strong force lifted him up.
As Ray kicked him and sent him flying out of the living room, Terrence spat out a mouthful of blood.

Yvette had refused with all her might. Fearing retaliation from Liam, Yara and Terrence had fled
abroad.
If Xavier hadnât dealt with Liam for Yvetteâs sake, they wouldnât have been able to return and live in luxury.
âTell me more,â Xavier spoke up. No matter how much he tried, all he had were fragmented memories and what he heard from others. He couldnât complete the puzzle in his head.
Mark briefly recounted the events. He wasnât finished when he suddenly spotted a small figure at the mansionâs back door and exclaimed, âItâs Noah!â
He mistook Zachary for Noah.
âWho?â Xavier asked.
âThatâs Mrs. Lane and Claudeâs son!â
Xavierâs chest tightened, and he quickly instructed, âBring him to me.â
âYes, sir!â Mark immediately ordered the bodyguards to capture Zachary.
Zachary, who had sneaked out when Kiki had gone to get a package for him, was trying to find a way into the mansion when a pair of hands suddenly grabbed him from behind and lifted him off the ground.
He quickly attempted a kick, but his short legs didnât hurt the bodyguard the least bit.
âWho are you? Let me go!â Zachary demanded coldly, not recognizing the man. His commanding tone, reminiscent of Xavierâs, startled the bodyguard. 1
âLong time no see, Noah Lander,â Mark said, stepping in front of him and adjusting his goldârimmed glasses. He had known that he had seen right!
At last, Mark had found âNoahâ.
