Y/N'S POV-
I'm back stuck in this cold dirty cell but this time is different. I can't get him out of my head. How can it feels so right but yet so wrong- I mean he is the emperor of all people.. and why would he love someone like me?? I just need to forget about it. I sit staring blankly at the wall. Try and forget about it...
My thoughts are interrupted when I notice a woman walk past my cell. I recognise her.. she was the woman sat with the emperors and the general. Lucilla I think her name was. I walk over to the bars of the cell to get a better look and watch as she enters into Hanno's cell alone.. what could she possibly want with him?
Five minutes pass and I strain trying to listen to what they are saying but it's no use. These stupid cells are too thick. What are they trying to keep in here- a bloody rhinoceros? Talking soon turned to shouting which makes me jump out of my skin. Hanno rarely yells at anyone unless they have done something seriously wrong. If they are strangers surely she couldn't have done something that bad.
Lucilla soon comes out of the cell and she looks both devastated and worried. As soon as she goes to walk past my cell I take my chance to talk to her
Y/N- "Wait! Your name is Lucilla right?"
She stops in her tracks and looks at me confused..
L- "Yes.. it is. Can I help you?"
Y/N- "Sorry.. I didn't mean to startle you. I just wondered if you knew Hanno? You did go into his cell".
L- She pauses and thinks of what to say "No I don't.. I'm sorry, I thought I did but I was mistaken"
Y/N- "Oh okay.. He is a close friend to me and I'm just worried, that's all"
L- "Did you grow up together??"
Y/N- "We did, he is actually all I have left.. Hanno has always been like a brother to me"
I swear she starts to tear up a little until she looks down at my hand
L- "Where did you get that ring??"
I lift my hand up confused and show it to her
Y/N- "This??? My mother gave it to me. Apparently it belonged to my father"
Her face turns a shade of white
L- "Aelia?? I need to go, I'm sorry" and she rushes into the distance
What was that all about??
Lucilla's POV-
I just can't believe it... after all this time. Acasius is stood waiting for me outside the cells and I rush to him trying not to break down.. He catches me concerned
A- "Lucilla what's wrong?"
I can't hold in the waterworks..
L- "Lucius is alive..."
A- "Are you certain??" He looks shocked
L- "I know my own son Acasius
... But there is something else that I haven't told you about"
A- "What haven't you told me??"
I take a deep breath in and blurt out
L- "I have a daughter.."
He doesn't answer and I take that as a sign that I need to explain..
L- "Her name is Aelia and she is here with Lucius as a gladiator.. they must have found eachover all on their own"
A- "Why did you abandon her?"
L- "I had no choice! I loved her so much.. but like Lucius I sent her away for her own safety. If people found out who her father is- Nobody can find out Acasius"
A- "Okay.. okay. Don't panic. Who is her Father??"
I change the subject. Nobody can know.. not even my Acasius
L- "We have to do something.. they won't survive in there"
A- "Lucilla, you know the plan. This could jeprodise everything we have worked for"
L- "They are my children Acasius! We need to do something. Get them out please" I beg
He looks me in the eyes trying to reason with me and touches my cheek gently
A- "Okay.. I will do anything to get them out, I promise.. "
