Y/N'S POV-
As i stumble down the corridor with the keys clutched in my hand.. every part of me just wants to give in but i know exactly where I am heading next-
It's almost like the missing piece of my life has been given to me like a puzzle but I'm not sure if I even want it anymore. Sometimes the truth is more painful than not knowing at all.
I finally reach Lucius' cell and jiggle the key in the hole. I don't have much time until people find out my secret so i need to act fast. When I finally get the door open I storm in and see Lucius stood in the corner lost in his thoughts. The only way I can explain my next actions is by saying my emotions got a strong hold of me.
I walk over to Lucius and slap him hard across the face. His only reaction was to rub his cheek so I did it again and again. He grabs my arms after a few times and holds me tightly
L- "I deserved that.." he looks at me with the same pain in his eyes. He pulls me closer and I break down into his arms. We sink to the floor in eachothers embrace and I sob into his chest. I needed to let everything out
Y/N- "Why didn't you tell me? You knew all this time"
L- "No..no..no Aelia.. i had no idea- I promise. I couldn't remember. We were so young" he shakes his head and I believe him
Y/N- "Why me? Am I like him?-" Lucius looks shocked at my question
L- "Of course not! You are one of the strongest people I know. You are brave and loyal and you wouldnt do anything to hurt anyone intentionally" his words are comforting but I struggle to believe them
L- "Your my little sister" his mouth forms into a small smile which causes me to chuckle
L- "Don't be mad at Lucilla.. I was for so long but she did only what she thought was right. She loves us"
Y/N- "Forgivness is a difficult thing Lucius"
I hear the sound of emerging heavy footsteps so I bolt to my feet
Y/N- "They are coming for me.." I say as a few guards appear at the cell door
?- "You need to come with us" Lucius scrunches his fist up, getting ready to fight but I put my hand on his to relax it and whisper
Y/N- "It's okay..." the guards enter the cell and grab my arms. They tie them behind my back and escort me out and through the palace
They take me to the main hall where Macrinus and Emperor Caracalla are waiting for me. The guards shove me forward and I fall to the ground in front of them
M- "Y/N.. just the person we wanted"
C- "Or should we call you Aelia?"
Y/N- "Y/N is fine.." I grunt and look up to them from my knees
Macrinus kneels down to my level and removes the ring from my finger
Y/N- "Hey! That's mine.. you have no right"
M- "I think you would find that i have all the right" he lifts the ring up to the light and inspects the inscriptions on the inside. I had no idea they were there as I have never taken it off
It's obvious that Macrinus is the driving force behind this. Caracalla looks disappointed because i know that deep down he likes me
M- "The rumours are true your highness. There is only one solution" Macrinus gets back to his feet and smiles
M- "Aelia Aurelia. You are under arrest and sentenced to death under the the command of the emperors"
Even though I expected this outcome I am still shocked to hear the words. I don't care that I am sentenced to death- I care that Geta is sentencing me. Where is he at such an important moment? Was it all just a lie? Was none of it real?
He told me he loved me and the worse part is.. I love him too
