“Welcome to our restaurant Ma’am, this way please” the waiter said as he led me towards the VIP section.

“Good afternoon Miss Anderson, you look as beautiful as the tabloids say” he said with a gentle smile on his face.

“Thanks for the compliment Mr….” I trailed softly.

“Gabriel Fernandez, please have a sit my lady” he said and I sat down.

“Nice to meet you Mr Fernandez” I said and he smiled.

“Call my Gabriel Sweetheart, I have heard a lot about you from your father” he said and I stared at him calmly.

“I hope what you heard were positive things sir” I said and he threw his heard backwards as he laughed.

Mr Fernandez was a fine man, tall in height with attractive features one look at him and one would know the man was literally wealthy and the way he carries himself is another beautiful thing to behold.

“You are not human” I said the minute I perceived his strong scent..

“You are indeed a smart woman Rachel” he said as he leaned on the chair while

smirking.

“I’m a werewolf” he said and I stared at him calmly.

“I can’t really detect your smell, you don’t smell like one” I said curiously.

“You don’t smell like one too Rachel, there is something about living in the human realm for so long before you know it, you start behaving like them and their scent start masking yours” he said and that seem to be a convincing reason as to why I couldn’t make out the fact that he is a werewolf.

“You are a beautiful woman Rachel” he said as his eyes stared at me like I was an interesting piece of art work.

“Thank you Mr Fernandez, we are here too discuss business remember” I said and he chuckled.

“I see you do not enjoy my company” he said as he fl*pped through the pages of the menu on the table.

“This is not about enjoying your company sir, we are both busy people maybe we should just go straight to the point why we are here” I said and he pinched the bridge of

his nose.

“Xavier Jason” he said and I stared at him Immediately.

“We share a common enemy Rachel, you should get used to my presence now” he said. and I looked away.

“Why are you enemies with Xavier ? what exactly did he do to you?” he asked and I looked at him in annoyance.

“I did not ask you for your reasons of hating Mr Xavier, so I don’t think I owe you an explanation as to why I hate him” I said and he cleared his throat in embarrassment.

“That was a mistake on my part” he said and I looked away.

“I believe whatever we have planned for Xavier will leave us satisfied at the end” he said. and I smirked.

“Good, that is what I intend to hear from the beginning” I said and we focused on eating.

“You really need to work on getting close to Xavier, 1 already have an insider in the pack which makes my work very easy” he said and for some reason I did not like the vibes I got from this man.

“I will inform you about the progress on my part” I said as we decided to concentrate on lunch.

“I think it is high time I take my leave” I said

and made my way out of the restaurant, I was already out of the restaurant when I received a text.

Bringing out my phone from my purse, I smirked and picked the call.

“Mr X” I said and I was met with silence on the other end.

“I see we are still on first name bases Rachel, I thought we passed that bridge” he said. and I bit my lower l*p to stop myself from snapping at him.

The nerve of this man to even flirt with me I know he has no idea I am the woman he led on and accused of murdering, the woman whose heart he stumped and tore into a million shreds.

“We could have passed this bridge and a million more if you did not belong to another woman”I said while smirking.

“My wife and I are not in a good relationship actually” he said and I laughed.

“That is what every married man who has plans to cheat says before he takes the steps” I said and he laughed.

“Ouch” he said and I rolled my eyes.

“That hurts you know” he said playfully.

“It does not change the fact that you have plans on cheating” I said and he chuckled.

“You are an interesting woman Rachel’ he said and I laughed.

“That is a dangerous thing to say to a woman you are interested in” I said playing with the keys to my car.

“I haven’t said it openly that I am interested in you Rachel …” he trailed calmly.

“You don’t have to come out openly X, your eyes already show it” I said and he chuckled.

“How about we meet for dinner tonight??” he asked and I chuckled.

“You have a wife, when last did you take her out for dinner?” I asked mockingly.

“You keep throwing the fact that I have a wife to my face” he said and I smirked.

“Because it is the right thing to do Sir… I said stressing on the last part.

“It would not change the fact that I like you” he said flirtily.

“No woman would like the title of the other woman Mr Xavier Jason, I am too classy to be an arm candy” I said and he sighed.

“Okay, can we at least meet as business partners?” he asked and I chuckled.

guess I don’t mind us meeting as business partners” I said and he sighed in relief.

“That is the spirit” he said and I chuckled.

“You make it sound like meeting up with you will give me everything I have ever needed” I said and he gasped at the other end.

“Maybe am a sweet guy you know” he said and I laughed.

“Let me the judge of that Sir… I said smiling.

“It is Xavier for you Rachel” he said and I smirked.

“We will meet tonight then Mr X” I said on purpose as I bit my lower l*p messing with this man’s head was sweeter than I thought.

“Fine Beautiful” he said and I cut the call as a smirk grew on my l*ps, getting into my car I gestured for the driver to take me back to the office.

? XAVIER POV?

“You are meeting up with her tonight? what exactly is your problem Xavier? do you even value your relationship with your wife at all’ Jayden asked as he stood at my door.

“I know am acting really stu pid right now, but I can’t help it” I said smiling.

“Are you smiling right now Xav? you are about to be stuck in between two women that is like having an extra marital affair and still trying to keep a relationship with your wife Jayden said worriedly.

“I’m not doing anything wrong with Rachel” I said leaning on my chair.

“Who are you trying to tell that lie? You are my best friend and trust me I know when you are crazy about a woman, I just don’t understand what you see in that woman” he said and I raised my eyebrows.

“You don’t like her?” I asked curiously.

“I have a bad feeling about her Alpha Xavier, she reminds me of Emerald and the fact. that I can’t put my hand on who she is, is giving me enough headache to last me a life time” he said and I chuckled.

“You are over thinking things Jayden, maybe you are just worried about me and the well being of the pack” I said and he sighed.

“Just be careful Alpha Xavier” he said and I gave a nod.

“I will be careful, can you at least take a deep breath and rest” I said and he gave a nod.

“Fine” Jayden said as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

“Thanks for being a caring friend though, it means a lot to me” I said and he laughed.

“That is not funny” he said as he sat down on the opposite chair as I laughed.

“I will be returning to the pack late tonight, make sure everything is under control and the soldiers are regulating the movement of the pack members. The last thing we want is another report of a dead person I have not gotten over the previous one” I said and Jayden gave a nod in understanding.

Picking up my phone from the table, I started making plans for my date with Rachel. Anderson. I wanted something romantic maybe a cozy date in the beach, something beautiful that sweeps her off her feet.

said in my head and I frowned.

“You are my wolf Rolfe and you are supposed to agree with everything I tell you” I said. and he went silent for a while.

“I can hear your heart race anytime she is near you Xavier he mocked playfully.

“Rachel and I are just business partners who are trying to get to know each other” I said and for some reason it sounded like I was only trying to convince myself and not the other way around.

“And you are trying to tell me this dinner date is just you and your business partner trying to know each other? that is the craziest thing I have heard in a while, you are attracted to her, you want Rachel Rolfe said and I sighed.

“Get out of my head” I said in frustration.

“Well I want to get out of the head of this confused man too, it just so happens that the moon goddess has paired us together how ironic” He said and I opened and closed my mouth like a fish.

“As my wolf, you should be my number one supporter Rolfe” I said and he shut me out.

“Rolfe” I called again and sighed when there was no reply.

I guess he shut me out to do things on my own. The only female he ever wanted me to be with was Emerald and it just happens that she turned out to be a murderer and lier.

A manipulative woman who ran away with an old lover at the slightest opportunity, I hate it that I miss her, I hate the fact that I still think about her, about the way things would have been around here. She handled the pack like her home and the members like they were members of her own family.

Yet she hurt me.

Removing the first three buttons of my Formal shirt, I made my way out of the office since it was already late in the afternoon. Calling up my personal assistant to make preparations for my date with Miss Anderson, I decided to stop by my penthouse and change into something more comfortable.

I got to the venue 30 mins earlier to check the preparations and assisted the men to make the place look better, placing the bouquet of roses on the table I admired our work.

The guys left and I checked my watch for how many more mins we had before 8pm. I sat down for a few more mins before I sighted her coming into the venue looking as stunning as always.

“This looks beautiful Mr X” she said as her eyes met mine.

“I’m glad you like it Rachel, you are looking breathtakingly beautiful tonight” I said and she laughed.

“Breathtakingly beautiful? that is new” she said as I made my way over to her and helped her sit down comfortably.

“You said we were gonna meet as business partners Xavier, has anyone ever told you how smart you are?” she asked and my cheeks heated up in a blush as her eyes widened.

“Wait are you blushing?” she asked with eyes wide open and jaws literally dropped.

“No…I’m not blushing” I said and she burst out laughing.
