? EMERALD POV?

Xavier looked away as his cheeks burned with a bright shade of red. There is just something so cute about watching the man blush that had me warm in the inside Xavier Jason was indeed a fine man and he looked really good tonight in his formal shirt and pants with his expensive Italian shoes to match.

He had few buttons of the shirt loose giving me a view of his chest I pulled my eyes away from him only for them to move back there on their own accord.

“Men don’t blush Rachel” he said breaking me out of my thoughts.

“You are blushing right now, does that make you a woman ?” I asked teasingly and he laughed.

“Smart one” he muttered under his breath as our eyes locked for minute and I looked away shyly.

“Their is something so beautiful about the waters” I said gesturing towards the water.

“Yeah, it is a beautiful sight to look upon” he said and I gave a nod, for a brief moment the memories of the both of us playing around in the fountain close to the borders entered my mind and my eyes stung with unshed tears.

It was in the presence of water and the beautiful sight of nature as the trees moved that we made love for the first time, raw and passionate, I gave him every piece of me, I gave him everything I had to offer yet Xavier found it so easy to leave my hand in the crowd.

“Are you okay?” he asked with concern laced in his voice as he held my hand in his large ones.

“How can I be okay after everything you did to me? After you called me a murderer and threw me away like I was worth nothing! After taking my child away from me and wrecking my heart into a million places. You even gave my position to your mistress how can I be happy” I screamed in my head but none of those words could leave my mouth.

I had it on the tip of my tongue to say these words to him but doing that will not only ruin everything we have worked so hard for but Xavier would get away with everything he has ever done.

“Are you sure you are okay?” he asked again and Immediately his hands met mine, I felt a spark am sure he felt it too because his eyes moved over to my hand in confusion.

“I’m sorry, I just had something in my mind, What were we talking about again?” I asked and he smiled.

“I’m sure it is work related, it is not an easy job to help control such a huge business” he said and I smiled in his direction.

“X constructions is doing great too and I am sure it is not an easy job to do that either” I said and he smiled.

“That is one of the things I admire about you Rachel, you do not let your gender or any other stereotype determine your personality. You are a successful billionaire and a lot of us in the business world admire you ” he said and I smiled.

“Many years of hard work and smart work” I said and he smiled

“Interesting” he muttered under his breath as he watched me sip from my glass of wine.

“So tell me about you Rachel” he said and I stared at him with eyebrows raised.

“What exactly do you want to know about me Mr X? I am an open book” I said with a smirk on my face.

“That is like saying pigs fly, there was absolutely nothing about you on the news, until recently when your pictures with me got out during that scandal” he said and I got close to him.

“What scandal …” I trailed seductively, at that point I was doing it on purpose.

“You are making it sound like you had no idea about what the media had to say about us at the restaurant the other day” he said and I fought the urge to laugh out.

“Oh, I was thinking your wife would have my head for it” I said playfully and he laughed.

“You are a strong woman, am sure you can handle her” he said as he scrolled through his phone.

I was shocked beyond reply at that point, what exactly did his marriage with Lina look like if he just said something like that to woman he just started seeing.

“I am not going to be a second option Mr X” I said and he stared at me calmly.

“My spitfire” he said calmly as his eyes met mine.

“let’s have dinner” I said and he fell quiet.

“Wow” my wolf said in my head making me frown.

“What is it again” I asked in my head as we ate in silence.

“Take a look at him Emerald, isn’t he the most handsome man, look at those k*ssable pink l*ps, I’m very sure they will be succulent”

“The last thing I want to do right now is a conversation with a h orny wolf” I said and she growled in my head.

“That is mean” she said and I fought the urge to laugh.

“You finding the man that hurt me cute, is more mean” I said and she cut me out Immediately.

I’m pretty she won’t be mad for long.

“So tell me, how is your son Derrick” I asked as my heart squeezed in hurt anytime I remember the fact that Derrick could possibly be my son, the son Xavier took away from me my heart burns with hurt.

“Derrick is fine” he said smiling.

“He is such a lovely boy you and Lina are so lucky to have him” I said and he pinched the bridge of his nose.

“It is a good thing that you think like that but Lina is not his mother though” he said and my heart sank.

“Oh….” I trailed and kept quiet for a while as I tried my best to control my emotions.

“Really? what happened to his mother? Was she your mistress are you still together?” I asked calmly.

“Why were you suddenly so interested in the topic?” he fired suspiciously.

“I’m only a curious human being Xavier, you started the story and should definitely complete it” I said and he chuckled.

“I don’t like talking about Derrick’s mum it did not end well with the both of us, things

ended on a bad note I rather move on than dwell on spilled milk” he said and I fought the urge to slap him on the face.

“That is so sad” I said folding his hands softly.

“What is sadder is the fact that I haven’t been able to forget the incident for five good years, life happened and I figured it is best I throw away her memories and try my best to move on” he said and I gave a nod in understanding.

“So tell me any boyfriend?” he asked.

“Nope” I said with hands folded.

“Wait, how is that possible?” he asked in shock.

“Why is that not possible?” I asked playfully.

“You keep answering my questions with questions Rachel” he said with a chuckle.

“I can’t help it Xavier” I said as we both laughed.

“You are a beautiful and successful woman, am sure you have a list of suitors lined up to be with you” he said and I laughed.

“I wanted to focus more on my family business and spread my wings more” I said and he smiled.

“You are very successful woman, Rachel Anderson Empire is one of the best right now and the fact that it is run by a female CEO makes it stand out even more” he said and I smiled.

“Thanks” I said and he smiled for the first time and I noticed it reached his eyes because his blue orbs flashed with happiness.

After dinner we decided to take a stroll in the pack, he laced his hand with mine as we walked together in the cool of the evening. The breeze from the tall trees blew in our direction making my hair move backwards.

“Oh my goodness” I said with a chuckle and he laughed.

“Your hair” he said and I stared at him curiously.

“Wait” he said and I stopped walking and watched come close to me, I sucked under my breath as he picked the strands of my hair on my face and tucked them behind my ear.

Our eyes met again and I froze on the spot as I watched him bend a bit to claim my l*ps in a k*ss, I moved away Immediately and he looked away in embarrassment.

“Rachel …” he trailed worriedly.

“Did you invite me here to get in my pants Xavier ?” I asked with arms folded my temper raised in anger as I glared at him, if glares could kill he would be six feets under the ground by now.

“I’m sorry…I …just got carried away” he trailed calmly.

“You said this was a meeting to get to know each other Xavier, yet you tried to k*ss me, what does that make you?” I spat in anger as I made my way towards the table and

picked my purse.

“Rachel at least listen to what I have to say…” he trailed as he held my hand I pushed his hand off Immediately.

“You have nothing to say Xavier, meeting you tonight was a big mistake” I said and his eyes flashed with hurt.

“Goodnight!” I bursted angrily as I made my way out of the venue with a smirk on my

face.

I got into the car and gestured towards the driver to take me to my father’s mansion, walking into the Mansion the lights in the sitting room lit up Immediately.

“Penny you scared me” I said with my hand on my chest.

“What? you thought it was your Dad right? Bad girl” she said teasingly.

“Why aren’t you in bed yet” I asked as I threw my purse on one of the chairs in the sitting room.

“You make it sound like am a teenager” she said pouting cutely.

“That is because you act like one sometimes ” I said smirking.

“Ouch….” she trailed dramatically.

“How did what go?” I asked feigning ignorance.

“Oh please don’t try to act smart Rachel I need details” she said smiling.

“We went for the date and Xavier tried to k*ss me and I freaked out” I said and sat on the

chair with a thud.

“I freaked out, ok” I said throwing but my hands in the air out of frustration.

“Wait wasn’t that the plan all along? We should be happy that this guy is showing interest that is like two steps ahead since he is the one making the moves” Penny said and I rubbed my forehead in frustration.

“I did not just freak out, I said a lot of things in my state of anger that I don’t think he would ever try to k*ss me in his life” I said and she face palmed herself.

“There is nothing wrong in k*ssing if it is going to lure him right into our trap” Penny said frowning.

“Don’t tell me you don’t have much bedroom experience” she said and I brushed red.

“Xavier was my first” I said and she burst out laughing.

“What is funny?” I asked and she chuckled.

“Everything is funny Rachel, you have a new personality now, you are no longer that timid, stu pid, weak, rejected Luna of Xavier’s pack, you are now the CEO Of Anderson’s Empire who is out to seek revenge on all those who hurt her!” Penny said and that sank straight into my brain.

“You are right, I am Rachel Anderson things are different now” I muttered under my breath with determination.
