Penny and I walked into the event clad in black expensive dresses, my eyes scanned the room and I knew at that point that all eyes were on me and no one else.

“Blend in” I said to Penny as I smiled at the man who walked over to greet me.

“Welcome to the party miss Anderson, it is so good to see you” he said and I smiled.

We talked about business for a while before I felt someone place their hand on my back from behind, the smell of a familiar clone had my heart racing and I could guess who it

was.

“Beauty” he said and I bit my lower l*p to control the rush of emotions I then turned to face his, standing tall in front of me was none other than Mr Xavier Jason looking handsome in his black suit and shoes to match.

“The name is Rachel” I said and folded

hands against my

chest.

“It is not my fault that I find the woman in front of me incredibly beautiful, I believe everyone thinks the same way because am not the only one who can’t take my eyes off you” he said and I smiled.

“This sweet tongue of yours will soon get you into trouble” I said playfully and he chuckled softly.

“You have not been taking my calls” he said and I raised my eyebrows.

“You did not make a move to try and get to know me better before attempting to k*ss me Mr X, I am not a woman who jumps on the bed of random man” I said and he chuckled.

“Ouch!” he said dramatically as he placed his hand on his chest.

“My ego is hurt” he said and I gestured towards his chest.

“I’m unapologetic about what I just said” I said and turned towards the party.

“Okay, maybe it was bad of me trying to k*ss you when we barely know much about each other” he said and I gave a nod.

“I would have k*ssed you back If you did though…” I said flirtily.

“See I told you you are into this guy” my wolf said in my head and I fought the urge to roll my eyes.

“That is a huge piece of information” he said that in amusement.

“You can never really understand what a woman wants you see” I said and he laughed.

“That is the real truth” he said while staring at me.

“Mr Jason” someone called from behind and he gestured towards me as he excused himself.

My phone rang and when I brought it out I was surprised to see it was a call from Mr Fernandez.

“Gabriel” I said immediately I picked the call.

“I see you are having a great time with Mr X” he said mockingly.

“As much as you and I are business partners, I will not sit down and listen to you insinuate nonsense about me” I said and he chuckled at the other end.

“You act like a time bomb Rachel, calm down you have too much anger inside of you it can last a life time l” he said playfully.

“I’m glad you know what Iam capable of” I said with a smirk on my face.

“Is everything okay?” Xavier asked immediately he came back to where I stood.

“Oh, of course everything is fine it is just a business partner” I waved it off and cut the call.

“Some of these partners can be really demanding sometimes” he said and I gave a nod.

“Miss Anderson” someone called from behind and I excused myself from him to have a brief conversation with the person.

The lady that called owned one of the leading companies in the country I was glad to have met her that night. We exchanged contacts promising to sit and talk in a more conducive environment.

The donation had already began when Lina graced the party in her annoying sea green dress that exposed her back and ended just after her butts. This is a meeting for billionaire’s I wonder who told her models with failed careers were invited.

“Her husband is standing next to you, am sure she is here to protect him from you” my wolf said and I chuckled.

“Protect him from me? that ia something she can never succeed in, I have him in the palm of my hands already it is only a matter of time before he starts dancing to my tune” I said and all this while Xavier who had no idea about the conversation going on between me and my wolf smiled at me and I returned the smile.

“What?” I asked and he shook his head.

“It’s nothing” he said and I raised my eyebrows.

“You where staring at me few minutes ago” I said and he chuckled.

“I noticed you space out a lot it just got me a little bit curious” he said and I looked away. Let’s just hope he doesn’t suspect that I’m werewolf, the more he thinks I’m human the better it is for me.

“My love” Lina said as she catwalked over to where we were standing and k*ssed Xavier on the l*ps.

I looked away trying my best not to laugh at her desperate attitude.

“You are here” Xavier whisper asked.

“Yes, I am here. Why are you acting like you don’t know me Xavier ? I am your wife” she spat angrily.

“And I did not say you are not my wife Lina please don’t cause a scene” he pleaded with her.

“So now you think I’m here to cause a scene?” she asked and threw glares in my direction.

“Why?”

“Is it because of this man chaser ? what do you even see in her that I don’t have !” she bursted angrily. The hate was quiet evident in her tone already and her voice was already attracting some people in the event as they turned towards us and began to whisper amongst themselves.

I acted like she was not talking to me and that seem to infuriate her the more as she glared at me and rushed towards me.

Xavier held her back as she screamed angrily.

“Are you okay?” Penny asked in concern as she rushed over to where I was.

“What the hell is wrong with you Lina ! What kind of embarrassment is this!” I bursted angrily immediately we got out of the EVENT.

“Embarrassment? how dare you talk about embarrassment after you have been caught frolicking with a common human !” she spat bitterly.

“I am your wife, I am your Luna Xavier ! when will you acknowledge that?” she asked breathing heavily from the fight she had with the guards inside the party.

“Yes, you are the Luna and trust me Rachel is not out to take that position from you she knows nothing about werewolves and I don’t think she is interested in being Luna” I said and she glared at me.

“Take her back to the pack” I said to Jayden who bowed and she screamed.

“I’m not going anywhere without you, don’t tell me you are going back there Xavier !” she bursted angrily.

“What do you expect me to do Lina? You insulted and embarrassed a client of mine and don’t want me to apologise. What is wrong with you?” I asked and tears rolled out of her eyes.

“Everything, Everything is wrong with me Xavier, Why are you hell bent on making our lives complicated? first it was Emerald now Rachel ! What do you even see in these women that I don’t have?” she asked while crying.

Rubbing my face in frustration I contemplated on the right words to apologise to Rachel. This is the second time Lina has gone out of the way and insulted are even calling her name’s no woman can bear such nonsense.

I was still outside when Rachel walked out of the party escorted by a few guards and her personal assistant.

“I’m not interested in whatever excuse you have to give this time around ” she said and I rubbed my forehead.

“I sincerely apologise Rachel, everything is so complicated but trust me I want to get to know you better” I said sincerely.

“Tonight has been a long night, I will see you some other time” she said and I watched her guards escort her into car and they drove off.
