“The news is everywhere on the Internet Rachel, I thought we talked about this !” Dad shouted angrily as he gave me a look of disappointment.

“This is my game Father, as much as I appreciate you looking out for me, I don’t think telling me the moves to take is necessary I am old enough to handle things like this” I said and he sighed softly.

“You are as stubborn as your mother, I don’t want a situation where you end up getting in trouble while trying to get revenge on those that hurt you” he said and I stared at him calmly.

“I never met mom, grandma never talked about her I grew up in Xavier’s park without an idea about who my parents were” I said and dad rubbed his face softly.

“That is all in the past, now you have me” he said and I

“You haven’t left for work yet ?” he asked as he sat down on the couch.

“Damian has been mad at me for a while now and I figured spending sometime with him will ease the tension between us” I said and Dad laughed.

“The little guy can be very demanding sometimes dear, but you are his mother and your should learn how to manage your personal and professional life the little guy shouldn’t be left out” Dad said and I bit my lower l*p.

“I didn’t mean for things to happen that way, he just freaked out on me and I figured out I should make it up to him” I said and he gave a nod.

“Good morning mummy, good morning Gran Gran !” Damien said excitedly as he ran down the stairs.

“Careful little guy we don’t want you to hurt yourself now do we ?” I asked and he shook his head calmly.ber

“Sorry mummy” he said and I gestured towards his nanny to hand me his lunch bag.

“Take the day off, I wanna spend some time with my son” I said and she blinked twice.

“It’s a Monday morning ma’am” she said and closed her mouth immediately.

“You heard me correctly. I told you to take the day off because I will be handling my son myself today, that’s not too much to ask now is it ?” I asked and she shook her head negatively.

“Of cause not, enjoy your day with him ma’am” she said bowed and left.

“Where is Nanny Fair going to ?” Damien asked curiously.

“Mummy is going to take you to school then we can both meet up for lunch later how about that?” I asked and he gasped dramatically.

“Really mummy?” he asked with excitement written all over his face.

“Yes Champ” I said and he jumped excitedly.

“Gran Gran, mummy is driving me to school today she can finally get to meet my best friend Derrick” he said and I sucked on my bottom l*p at the mention of Derrick.

“Enjoy your day Kiddo” Dad said and he clapped excitedly.

“Slow down champ” I said as he ran outside.

“You don’t even know the particular car we are taking” I said shaking my head in

amusement.

“I guess you can handle things at the office well” I said to Penny as I walked out of the

Mansion.

“It’s unfair how I got here and I’m going to work on your behalf this morning, what happened to you informing me yesterday” she said and I chuckled.

“Have fun” I said and she rolled her eyes with a smile on her face.

“I pay you for it woman” I said and her jaws dropped.

“Good morning Aunt Penny” Damien waved excitedly.

“Hey champ, how are you doing?” Penny asked and he gave her a full blown smile.

“Fine Aunt Penny, my mum is my personal chauffeur this morning” he said and my Jaws literally dropped.

“Heyyyyyyy” I said and he laughed.

“Chauffeur Rachel Penny said and I shook my head at their craziness.

“See you later babe, I have to make sure he gets to school on time” I said and the driver’s seat as I wore my seat belt.

“Ready sweetheart?” I asked as I helped him put on his seat belt.

“Good to go mummy” he said and blew me a k*ss.

The drive to his school was not a quiet one as Damien went on and on talking about hist best friend Derrick. My heart made a funny

jump anytime he made union of his

friend Derrick.

I know my sk ip suspicion about Derrick being the same Derrick I knew was kinda right, but all I have so far was baseless without a proof that he was mine.

We got to school and he jumped out of the car excitedly.

“Are you going without k*ssing mummy goodbye?” I asked and he ran back and k*ssed both sides of my cheeks.

“bye mummy” he said and ran off. He is always excited about school since he got a new

friend.

I’m just gonna come back and pick him up so we can have lunch together in their school cafeteria.

Since it’s my day off I don’t really have much to do. My phone rang and it was Gabriel. Fernandez.

“Elle” he said Immediately I picked the call.

“Fernandez, it’s a Monday morning don’t you have anything to keep you busy?” I asked and he laughed.

“I knew you would act cold with me I was prepared for this reply before I made up my mind to call you” he said and I frowned.

“You knew I was gonna act cold yet you still called, I hope you have it at the back of your mind that we are only business partner and….” I trailed.

“Calm down Elle” he said calmly.

“It’s Rachel Anderson, my father told me we were acquinted for the purpose of bringing Xavier Jason down nothing more nothing less” I said and he fell silent on the other end.

“Who hurt you” he asked and that seem to hit it.

“What are you insinuating?” I snapped angrily.

“Trust me, you have not moved on from whoever it was that hurt you I won’t be surprised if it’s Xavier Jason” he said and I frowned.

“Is that the reason for this call?” I asked and he chuckled.

“I think the timing was wrong then, I will check up on you later” he said and ended the

call.

I just hope Dad didn’t make a mistake by involving Gabriel Fernandez in this mission of ours, the last thing I want is to complicate my already complicated life.

The drive back to my mansion was a quiet one as different thought and ways to carry out my revenge was flowing through my head. I spent some father and daughter moments with Dad before he went in for a nap and I decided to go over to Damian’s school.

“I’m sorry that I went over board at the party even though I was not invited, but if you think of it from my perspective you would realise that none of this would have happened if you listened to me when I asked politely” Lina said standing in front of me in my study room.

“The drama you caused at the party is the last thing on my mind right now trust me” I said while going through some files.

‘Why? Oh I see you must be thinking about different ways to apologise to your mistress” she said mockingly.

“I do not have mistress” I said calmly while concentrating on what I was doing.

“As far as I am concerned, Rachel is your mistress don’t tell me you secretly married her” she said and I began to wonder where I went wrong by involving myself with this

woman.

“For how long will we continue having this conversation ?” I asked and she glare at me.

“For as long as you continue hanging around that human I’ll hurt her soon Xavier, you of all people should know I’m not bluffing” she said and I took a deep breath in and out, right before I could say a word someone walked in without knocking.

“Oh, sorry for the intrusion” she said and I shook my head.

“It’s okay, we are already done with what we were talking about” I said and Lina stomped her feet on the floor as she made her way out of my study room.

“I’m sorry about that Aunt Maggie” I said and she smiled.

“It’s okay son, I raised you well enough to handle such situations” she said gesturing

“I came here to talk to you about your son” she said and raised my eyebrows.

“Derrick ? what happened to Derrick…” I trailed in panick.

“He is fine, my concern is about the way you yelled at him the other day, the poor thing has been quiet since that day it is high time you make it up to him” she said and I nod.

“Children can be very stubborn sometimes but it’s up to us to set things straight” she said and I sighed softly.

“Sometimes I feel his mom would have related better with him, I feel terrible that he wouldn’t tell me who it was that hurt him but then, I would rather die than wish he had anything to do with the murderer that birth him” I spat angrily.

“Calm down son” she said and I gave a nod

After Aunt left, I decided to go to Derrick’s school and apologize for yelling and maybe get to meet the friend he wouldn’t stop talking about.

Setting my files in an organised manner on the table, I got up and placed a call to my personal assistant asking him to mail some files to me which I planned to work on later tonight.

Jayden was out sorting out the duties of the park like I ordered so I decided to just drive myself to his school. Getting to his school I checked the little shopping bag I got for him from the eatery.

Bolting my car door, I wore my shades properly and tucked a hand in the pocket of my jean pants as I made my way towards the school building.

I sighted a familiar figure I could recognize anywhere. There she stood in a casual dress and sandals to match, she still managed to look really beautiful even if she had her hair

in a pony.

Stopping my trail of thoughts I had just one thought running through my mind at that

moment.

what was Rachel doing at a kindergarten school?

As if to answer my questions, I saw a cute boy around Derrick’s age running outside excitedly.
