We walked out of the mansion together and immediately I got into the car I leaned my back on the chair and closed my eyes, I hope I’m ready for this I said to myself.

“We are not ready to meet him and you know this Emerald” my wolf said in my head and my eyes stung with tears..

Xavier has an effect on me whenever we go out together I prepare myself to put my emotions in check.

“We are ready, how long will we run Nala? it’s high time we take the bull by the horn” I said and she fell silent..

I looked away as we passed by the tall buildings and busy road we got to the airport and he moved over to the other side to open the door for me.

“Safe trip ma’am” he said and bowed.

“Thank you” I said and made my way towards the airport as some of my father’s men came to guide me to Mr X’s private Jet.

“Welcome on board miss Anderson” the guy greeted as he extend his hands towards me to help me in.

“Where is Mr X?” I asked as he walked in front.

“Here ma’am” he gestured towards the other end. The hostess in front moved away and there he was typing on his laptop with some files on the floor.

He looked stressed out and Immediately his eyes mine he dropped the files on the table

at his front.

“Good Afternoon Miss Anderson” he said and I sighed.

“Xavier” I said as my eyes moved to the files then back to his face..

“I’ve

ve just been busy with the issue at the pack that I totally forgot I had work piling up at the office” he said and paused when he noticed his blunder for mentioning pack in front of me, I’m pretty sure he thinks am human.

I looked away pretending like I didn’t hear anything he just said.

“How did Derrick take the news of you traveling?” I asked and he sighed softly.

“Lina and Derrick do not get along quiet well so her presence would not change anything” he said and I had a bad feeling about what he just said, she probably hates him because he is my son, Lina has always been a woman of low character.

“That’s so sad, I mean she’s your wife she should get along with your son” I said and he sighed softly.

“That is why I said things are complicated” he said and I didn’t say don’t want him to think I’m interested in his life.

“Are you okay?” he asked curiously.

“What…tt?” I stuttered out as I tried to get a grip of myself.

“You zoned out, I was only trying to see if you were okay” he said and I gave a nod.

“I’m fine, I just miss my son” I said and that was the truth in some way.

Thinking about Derrick and what my son must be going through in the absence of Xavier had my eyes water in tears, I looked away and I notice his eyes on me the entire time.

“Are you sure you’re okay?” he asked again.

“I’m fine” I said and he let it slide.

We arrived France and as we walked out of the airport he had his hand at my back. The driver bowed Immediately we approached him.

“Good evening Mr Jason” he said and bowed in respect.

“Good evening ma’am” he said to me and I

gave a a nod.

“Good evening” I said and Xavier opened the door as I got in calmly, he got in next to me and the scent of his clone graced my nose making me high on his sweet smell. He seem to be really focused on whatever he was doing on his phone.

“We would be staying over at our company’s hotel for the two days that we would be here…” he said after a while and I gave a nod.

At that moment my phone rang and I raised it to see who it was that was calling me, the caller ID showed that it was Gabby.

I raised my eyes and Xavier looked away, I bit my lower l*p fighting the urge to chuckle. I can’t believe he glanced at my phone to know who was calling me. I ignored Gabriel’s call and he stopped calling when I didn’t pick up at the third ring.

We got to the hotel and was welcomed in by a beautiful looking employee who led us to the penthouse in the VIP section.

“There are two rooms sir one for you and one for Miss Anderson, I hope you enjoy your stay here” she said and I smiled.

“You may leave” Xavier said and she left immediately.

“If you are not comfortable with sharing a penthouse with me I can make some arrangements and …” he trailed.

“No, it’s okay” I said and he gave a nod.

“Here is the key to your room” he said handing a bunch of keys to me. I watched him. walk towards the opposite door with his bag in his hand as he get to the door, he turned. to look back at me I then look away.

Shutting my eyes tight I cursed under my breath and I can’t believe I kept staring at him like that.

“See why I said you haven’t moved on from him Nala said and I rolled my eyes.

“I didn’t ask for your opinion Nala” I said and she growled.

“That doesn’t scare me either” I said as I made my way into my room.

Immediately I shut the door behind me, I heard a knock on my door.

“Who is that?” I asked trying to control my raging heartbeats.

“It’s Xavier” he said and I took a deep breath in and out before opening the door.

“Hey” I said and he ran his fingers in his hair as he stared at my face then looked. for a brief moment.

“I just wanted to ask you if you’d care to join me for dinner?” he said and I raised my eyebrows curiously.

“Fine, am inviting you for dinner” he said and I chuckled lightly.

“Alright, see you in 45 mins then” I said and he raised his eyebrows.

“That is a lot of time” he said and I fold my arms around my ches.

“I’m a woman I need to freshen up and settle in” I said and he opened and closed his mouth like a fish.

“Yeah, I guess you women like to take time to do your things” he said and I chuckled.

“See you in 40 minutes then” I said and closed the door on his face he knocked on the door again and I opened it.

“What?” I asked and he chuckled.

“Sorry it is nothing” he said and I raised my eyebrows.

“You knocked just to tell me it’s nothing?” I asked and his cheeks heated in a blush.

“I…..” he trailed softly.

“You are blushing” I said leaning

on the door.

“What…no” he said and I laughed.

“You keep denying it but it is pretty obvious” I said and he looked away.

“We’ll meet during dinner Rachel” he said and made his way towards his room.

“He doesn’t have any affect on me” I said and when she didn’t say anything I groaned in frustration.

“That is because I don’t believe you, it is quiet obvious that he still have a affects on you and trust me it won’t be long before you guys jump on each other” she said and my eyes widened and my jaws literally dropped.
