XAVIER POV?

“You are going out on a date with Miss Anderson? Whatever happened to the it’s just business quote” Jayden asked teasingly.

“I thought you called to tell me something important?” I asked and he chuckled.

“Not really, I just wanted to find out if you guys arrived safely” he said and I sighed.

“Yes we arrived safely, I will call you later Jayden” I said and ended the call.

Walking towards the bathroom I took a quick shower and changed into something casual for the evening, I checked my outfit to T-shirt and jeans. When I was done, I walked out of the room with my credit card and phone that’s when I noticed her walking towards me clad in a plain shirt and shorts which outlined her beautiful figure, I noticed the anklet on her leg and her cute sl*ppers to match.

“Hey” she said as she smiled.

“You look beautiful” I said and she blushed.

“Thanks, am not even expensively dressed for this” she said and I smiled.

“You don’t need fancy or expensive dresses to look good Rachel, you look naturally beautiful” I said and she smiled.

“Oh, thanks” she said as she walked in front then turned when she noticed I wasn’t.

“Ain’t you coming?” she asked and I shook my

head.

“Sorry I was just thinking about something I said and she raised her eyebrows.

“Mind to share ?” she asked and I shook my head.

“No, I’m fine” I said and she gave a nod.

We got to the restaurant and the waiter led us towards our reservation.

“I like the view of the city” Rachel said Immediately we sat down. Where we sat had a beautiful view of the city and I smiled at the way her l*ps stretched in a beautiful smile.

“I can see that” I said and she chuckled.

“You keep staring at me she said without taking a glance at my direction.

That is because you am attracted to you Rachel, you’re a beautiful woman” I said and she raised her eyebrows.

This is the fifth time you are saying that if I’m not mistaking” she said teasingly.

“That isbecause I’m saying the truth, you are a beautiful woman Rachel’ I said and she gestured towards the menu.

Thanks for the compliment Xavier, you don’t look bad either” she said and I chuckled.

“Oh, this is new” I said and she raised her eyebrows.

“What do you mean?” she asked curiously.

Women are quiet bold in their compliments to me it is new that you prefer to be respectful in your compliments” I said and she chuckled..

“You are a fine man it should not come as a surprise if you receive R rated compliments from my gender” she said and we both burst out laughing.

“You have a smart kid” I said immediately my mind went over to Damien.

“You mean Damien she muttered under her breath.

“Yes, Damien” I answered her as my mind went over to the kid again I just can’t place

hand on why I feel such a strong connection towards the kid.

“Thanks, he is the life of the house, he makes the house lively” she said smiling and for the first time the smile came genuinely because I saw the bright expression in her eyes.

“Sorry to ask but what happened to his father?” I asked and noticed her freeze on her chair.

I….she trailed as she licked her l*ps nervously.

“It’s okay if you feel uncomfortable with my question it is not compulsory to answer the question I only asked out of curiosity” I said and she shook her head.

“Damien’s father left me. I guess I wasn’t good enough or I didn’t meet up to his

definition of a wife” she said as she fl*pped through the menu.

“You are a good woman Rachel, you are beautiful, smart and successful whoever he his, it is his loss” I said and she chuckled bitterly.

“I guess you are right” she said and looked away.

“I’m sorry if I brought back bad memories m” I said and she gave a nod.

“It is okay, I think I have found what I’ll be eating for the night…” she asked excitedly and I chuckled.

“Okay, so what would you be having for the night?” I asked and she gestured towards the dish in the menu.

Rachel and I placed our orders as we talked about random stuffs the waiter served our dishes and as we ate, I noticed she had an amazing sense of humor because I kept controlling the urge to burst into laughter as she told me stories.

“Thanks for tonight Rachel, I had fun” I said and she laughed.

“I’m glad you had fun we will meet tommorow then” she said and we both stared at each other for a while before she broke the eye contact.

“Good night Mr Jason” she said and I smiled.

“Good night Miss Anderson” I said and immediately my l*ps met her cheeks she blushed red,

I watched her walk into her room and rubbed the back of my n*eck curiously.

“Fvck, this woman makes me go crazy” I muttered under my breath.

I got to my room and fell on the bed with a thud as I smiled.

“I’m so whipped” I said and bit my lower l*p as the events of the night came through my mind I pinched the bridge of my nose as different thoughts ran through my mind.

I know everything is complicated right now but I’m willing to see where my relationship with Rachel takes me.

Scrolling through my phone I checked the picture of my son Derrick and could not help but wonder if he was fine, I just hope he isn’t going through anything I should be worried about.

He got bullied the other time and did not want to talk about who it was that hurt him, let’s just hope he doesn’t get hurt again before my arrival after all I already told Jayden to keep an eye on him. As for Lina, I don’t know where this marriage would lead the both of us but I’m too tired to think about that right now.

“We went out for dinner and I’m just getting into my room” I said and Penny laughed.

“Wowww” Penny said dramatically.

“What is with the ulala?” I asked and she laughed.

“You went out for a romantic dinner” she said and I frowned.

“What I don’t understand is you emphasing on the romantic? I Don’t get” I said and she laughed.

“Rachel, hold your horses babe I know you are all up for revenge but c’mon have some fun” she said and I rolled my eyes.

“Penny who’s side are you on? I thought you never liked Xavier” I said and she laughed.

“Yeah, I don’t like him but that doesn’t mean I will ignore the fact that you are having at lot of fun while this continues” she said and I took a deep breath in and out.

“Tell me everything that happened tonight,in detail” she said and I burst out laughing.

“I have nothing to tell you Penny, we went for dinner and am back in my room” I said and she chuckled.

“I know when you are sk ipping the juicy details babe” she said and I sighed.

“Well he was curious about Damien and even asked of his Dad’ I said and she gasped.

“He literally asked about himself, how shameful that he has no idea about the true identity of you and his own son” Penny said and I can imagine her shaking her head. dramatically.

“And he is never gonna find out at least until he looses everything he ever has” I said as I sat down on the bed.

“Sometimes when I think of it I feel so much pity for him” she said and I raised my eyebrows.

“Before you attack me listen to what I have to say, Xavier made wrong decisions in his life and it’s all coming back to effect him, he is gonna live the latter part of his life in regret” she said and my eyes stung with tears.

“At this point I don’t really care babe, he hurt me and the fact that he has no idea nor feel remorse for what he did to me in the past f ucking hurts Penny. There are times where I have thought of letting things go and just moving on with my life but I can’t Penny, I just want to make him pay for hurting me I can’t bare it” I said and she gave a nod.

“I need to get some sleep babe I’m tired” I said and lay on the bed tiredly.

“Good night babe, don’t be too hard yourself” she said and ended the call I bit my lower l*p as my mind went back to the dinner date and everything we talked about.

“Stop thinking about him, he is not worth it I muttered under my breath as I closed my eyes weakly.

Tommorow is another day and I can’t wait to explore what it had to offer.
