“Emerald” he called and I stared at him trying my best not to give away that I was scared and fvcking nervous. What was I thinking when I let my b*dy do the thinking.

“Are you okay Xavier ?” I asked and he held my hands closed.

“Emerald…” he said again as his l*ps quivered in hurt.

“I’m not Emerald, I don’t even know what you are talking about. You’re acting strange Xavier are you sure you are fine?” I asked and he shut his eyes tight for a few second.

He opened his mouth to say something and nothing seem to be come out of his mouth.

“Forget about it..” he said and my eyes stung with unshed tears.

“Do you regret it?” I asked getting all ready to play the victim card.

Immediately I got into my room, I shut the door behind me and rested my back on the door as tears began to roll down from my eyes. I let my heart do the thinking instead it is barely a day and I just proved I still have a soft spot for Xavier.

I need to start acting fast before I end up sucked in the game I created in the first place.

I texted Penny to call me when she is less busy and it wasn’t long before my phone rang.

“Hey babe what’s up” she said enthusiastically.

“You sound so happy” I said and she laughed.

“Oh it’s nothing, we were seeing the new marvel before you called. What are you up to?”

“That is only going to happen if you keep your part of the deal, that is getting Elroy out of the way putting an end to Carlos which you have done and a lot more just to make sure we actualise our dreams” he said k*ssing her bare back.

“I know I really love you it hurts me to keep up with all of this but I’m willing to do it just to make sure you are happy, I Don’t wanna keep pretending like I love Xavier or his worthless son” she bursted angrily.

“Leave the kid out of whatever grudges you hold towards his parents he is cool kid and he doesn’t cause trouble” he said and she raised her eyebrows.

“Don’t tell me you suddenly feel pity towards the kid, he is not our son and never will be” Lina bursted angrily.

“I’m not saying he is our son, I’m just saying you should be careful with the say you act towards him. The last one was too suspicious” he said and she sat on his lap.

“I’m sorry JAYDEN, I will be careful next time” she said k*ssed his l*ps.

“It does not make me curious in anyway because if Xavier really loved me as Emerald, he wouldn’t have hurt me the way he did. He broke me Penny, I don’t want to go over that again because I might end up sounding like a broken person again” I said she took a deep breath in and out.

Sitting down on my bed, my mind went back to the beautiful memories I had with. Xavier. Where did I go wrong, what did I do to him that he didn’t give me the chat. prove my self wrong when I was accused of killing Carlos.

He locked me with a pregnancy that was due for delivery, I had no pack doctor to assist me when I brought our twins to this world on that rainy night, he took our son away from me and left me to die.

I got to my limit the very minute he threatened me with rejection, and went as far as going through with it even if he knew how much I loved him and the fact that it will break me to loose him.

My phone rang again and I sighed thinking it was Penny, I turned to the other side and picked up my phone it was Gabriel, a smile formed on my l*ps as I picked up the call.

“You haven’t been picking my calls, I thought we went back to being strangers” he said teasingly.

“We can’t go back to being strangers, you of all people should know that is not possible” I said smiling.

He heived a sigh of relief as he rubbed his forehead calmly, Blake was keeping a lot of secrets and the fear of them coming out in the open was enough to give him and instant headache.
