? EMERALD POV?

“Calm down Emerald, I’m sure Damien is safe maybe you should try calling Xavier” Dad said and I froze.

“S hit” I cursed under my breath.

“What if he went over to Xavier’s place to visit his friend Derrick” Penny said and I walked out of the house without stopping to think about what was going on.

Throughout the ride to Xavier’s place different thoughts filled my mind, I had no plans for Damien to visit the pack at least not without me

I tried reaching Xav, but he wouldn’t take my calls immediately I got to the pack, I got down from the car and made my way inside.

“Miss Anderson” I heard Jayden’s voice as he walked towards me.

“Is everything okay? does Mr Jason know you are coming over” he asked and I stared at him trying to think of a reply.

“My son, I’m…. looking for someone he is around five years old his name is Damien I said and Jayden stared at me with eyebrows raised.

“I didn’t know you have a son” Jayden said and I made my way inside the pack house as he tried to catch up with me.

“Damien !” I said in shock as I saw him In the dinning room with Derrick immediately. he saw me he smiled in my direction.

“Hey Mommy” he said and I glared daggers at him.

“How the hell did you leave the house without anyone’s knowledge? are you tryna kill me!” I bursted angrily and they both stared at me innocently.

“I told you I want to meet Derrick countless times but you kept refusing mum” he said. and I felt bad.

“I’m sorry for being a bad boy mummy” he said and my eyes stung with unshed tears.

“What is going on here?” I heard Xavier’s voice which made us turn immediately.

“Damien is here” he said shock.

“Yeah, I figured he will be here considering the fact that I he has been forcing me to bring him here so he can see his best friend” I said and Xavier’s eyes softened in their direction.

“I’m sorry they scared you” he said as he stared at me.

“It’s okay” I said and looked away.

“Can we talk ?” he asked and I looked

away.

“I don’t think that’s necessary…” I trailed.

“Please” he said and I sighed as I walked with him.

Ever since the incident with Lina I haven’t been taking his calls and I knew that is the reason he wanted us to talk.

“You haven’t been taking my calls” he said and I stared at him.

“I don’t think I want more drama in my life XAVIER, you can’t have me and Lina at the same time” I said and he sighed softly.

“I told you I’m already working on ending my relationship with Lina” he said and I sighed.

“That doesn’t change the fact that she will continue acting dramatic anytime she sees us together, that’s what I can’t bare” I said and he held. my hand.

“I promise am going to make sure the incident doesn’t repeat itself. I miss you” he said

and I smiled.

“You missed me yet you did not come to me” I said teasingly.

“I’ve been busy” he said and I smiled.

“Spend the evening here” he said and I stared at him speechlessly.

“Where will I be spending the night ?” I asked and he chuckled.

“My room of course” he said and I tried my best not to give away my nervous reaction.

“It’s pretty late already, have you had dinner?” he asked with concern.

“Yeah and you?” I asked and he shook his head.

“Not yet, I was busy with some files in my study I still have a meeting with some very important people. I will be joining you soon” he said and I gave a nod as I watched him leave.

I made my way back to Damien and Derrick.

“Have you boys had dinner?” I asked in concern.

“Yes mummy his grand aunt Maggie gave us dinner” Damien said and I smiled.

Maggie and her kind heart.

“Is everything okay?” I asked when I noticed Derrick very quiet.

“Can I call you mummy Rachel ?” he asked and my heart melted almost immediately.

“Of course sweetheart, you can call me whatever you want okay” I said and he ran into

my arms.

“Thanks mum” he said and I wiped the tears that rolled out of my eyes.

“Are you crying mummy?” Damien asked in concern.

“Of course not, I’m not crying. Show me to your room Derrick” I said and Damien gasped.

“Are we spending the night here mummy ?” he asked excitedly.

“Yes champ” I said and he jumped on his feet.

“Yeah!” they both screamed in excitement as they ran towards the room.

My phone rang and I picked up the call.

“Hey” I said and Penny bombarded me with questions one after the other.

“Did you find him? is he okay? should we file a missing person report? I can’t believe we were so careless” she went on and on as her voice broke at the edge.

“Breathe Penny,I found him at Xavier’s place” I said and she sighed in relief.

“That kid is way too smart for his age, how did he even get there” she said in shock.

“I haven’t asked but I will get that piece of information after I tuck the both of them in bed” I said and she gasped.

“Are you guys spending the night there ?” she asked and I chuckled.

“Yeah, Xav thinks it’s late and we should not be driving home” I said and she made. funny sounds.

“Xav huh” she teased.

“We’ve had this conversation before Penny” I said and she laughed.

“Fine, sweet sleep and please be alert” she said and I gave a nod.

“I will and thanks for being my best friend in the whole world” I said and she chuckled.

“You too bubble bear” she said and ended the call and I walked over to Derrick’s room and the Nanny was already helping them take a shower.

I sat on the bed while waiting for them to come out, Derrick gave Damien one of his PJ and I watched them get on the bed together.

“You may leave” I said to Derrick’s Nanny who was skeptical at first but left after some time.

I read them a bed story and watched them sleep emotionally as I wiped the tears that rolled out of my eyes.

“It’s so hard not to believe you are not Emerald” I heard a voice from behind that startled me.

“Sorry if I startled you” she said as she walked into the room.

“Oh it’s okay miss Maggie” I said trying my best not to call her aunt Maggie.

“You and Derrick’s mom bare a strong resemblance, there might be some difference here and there but I can sense it and I wonder how that girl is” she said and sighed.

“I’m sure she’s fine wherever she is” I said and she gave a nod.

“I came to check up on my grandson, it’s a good thing he is already fast asleep. Damien. is such a sharp kid” she said and I smiled.

“I get that a lot” I said with a chuckle.

“You raised him properly” she said and I gave a nod.

Aunt Maggie stayed for sometime before leaving the room, I k*ssed both their foreheads and heard someone clear their throat from the door.

“Hey beautiful” he said and I turned.

“You said you won’t stay for long” I said and he smiled.

“I know I said that, but the meeting took a while before it closed. how is my favorite girl doing” he said as he k*ssed my checks.

“I don’t remember saying yes to being your girl” I said and he laughed.

“I said yes on your behalf” he said and I threw my head backwards as I laughed.

“You said yes on my behalf, that is cheating” I said and he pecked my l*ps.

“I’m tired” he said and I ruffled his hair as we made our way to his room.

Immediately we got into his room, the painful memories from the past cane to my mind the things we did in this room, how we made love and promises he couldn’t keep, I took a deep breath in and out to calm my nerves. I can’t afford to be emotional now or I will be ruining what I have worked so hard to build.

“I’ll just go freshen up, do you mind to join me?” he asked and I laughed.

“Just say you have other plans bad boy” I said and he laughed.

This is actually a good way to save water you know” he said and I rolled my eyes.

“Save water until you bend me in the position that suits you” I said pointing at him and he burst out laughing.

“You are crazy Rachel” he said and I couldn’t help but laugh for some reason his laughter was way too contagious to avoid.

“Go ahead and freshen up, I’ll do that after you are done” I said and he chuckled.

“I can’t believe you don’t wanna join me, we will be saving a lot of water” he said playfully and I chuckled.

“I was unable to find who it was that stood outside the door and listened to our conversation, I don’t think it’s Xavier because we will both be under the ground with our hearts ripped out if it was him” Jayden said as he sat down with a thud.

“Then who was it Jayden, I can’t think straight ever since someone walked in on us like that she said and he sighed.

“Maybe you should calm down too, because worrying like this is not helping us in anyway either” he said and she sighed.

“We will find out who it was that eavesdropped on our conversation that night sooner or later” he said and she gave a nod.

“I just found out Rachel has a son around Derrick’s age” he said and she gasped.

“That sl ut” Lina bursted angrily.

“What is she doing here again?” she asked angrily.

“That should be the last thing on your mind, what you should be thinking about is how

she hid it from the media for all these years. Rachel might not be as innocent as we think she is, what if she has an ulterior motive?” he asked and Lina gasped as her mouth formed in o shape.

“I knew that sly witch had something up her sleeves” Lina said in shock.

Sooner or later they were gonna find out exactly what Rachel is up to and use it to their advantage.
