“So how do you feel right now?” Penny asked in concern as I sat on the bed calmly.

“I won’t say am fine right now babe, because I am so surprised” I said as the doctor checked my wounds.

“Who do you think is responsible for it?” she asked calmly.

“Who else? I’m sure it’s Lina” I said and Penelope stared at me in disbelief.

“Lina?” she asked in shock.

“Lina lost everything because if me, who else would want me six feet under the ground if not Lina ?beside I don’t think I have other enemies.” I asked and she sighed.

“I was worried sick when I received a call from you” she said holding my hand.

“There is no cause for alarm am fine now” I said and she gave a nod.

“What if it was a trap to show your true self?” Penny asked and I sighed.

“I don’t know babe and right now, thinking about it might just end up giving me unnecessary headache” I said and she stared at me sadly.

“Just be v very careful, you have Damien and Derrick to take care of, remember Xavier has a lot of enemies” she said and I sighed.

“I will be very careful babe” I said and walked out towards my room.

“Hey…I have been trying to reach you since yesterday” Xavier said over the phone when I picked his call.

“Sorry, I have been busy with work” I said as I sat down on the bed.

“It felt like you were avoiding me after what we shared that night…” Xavier said and I sighed.

“I am your girlfriend Xaiver, where is this coming from?” I asked and he fell silent for a while.

“I don’t know, it just felt like you were avoiding me” he said and I smiled.

“You know what, how about Damien and I come over to your place tomorrow ?” I asked and I can imagine him smiling at the other end.

“I can hear you, am just overwhelmed with emotions” he said and I smiled.

“I did not know I am dating a drama queen” I said playfully and he laughed.

“I am a man, it’s supposed to be drama king not the other way around” he said and I laughed.

“Fine then, drama king” I said and he laughed.

“I miss you” he said after staying silent for sometime.

“I miss you too Xavier. What have you been up to?” I asked and he stayed silent for a while.

“I can’t tell you” he said and I frowned.

“You can’t tell me? is it something I should be worried about” I asked and he chuckled.

“No it is not” he said and I decided not to push further. If he doesn’t wanna tell me, I guess it has something to do with the pack.

“Fine then, take care of yourself” I said and he sighed.

“You want to end the call already?”he asked with concern.

“Xavier I am really tired and I need to get some rest” I said and I can imagine a frown on his face.

“Fine, anything to makes you happy babe” he said and I smiled as he hang up the call.

I lay on the bed with a frown on my face, what I do and where do I start from?

“Mummy!” I heard Damien’s voice as he ran into my room.

“Hey champ” I said as he got under the sheets.

“I missed you last mummy” he said as he k*ssed my cheeks sweetly.

“Can I sleep here with you tonight mummy!” he said excitedly.

“You can stay with me anytime you want my love” I said and he snuggled close.

I couldn’t help but imagine how it would have felt if Derrick was here with us. We both slept calmly and a smile formed on my face.

“Goodnight mummy” he said and I smiled.

Immediately she cut the call, I sat down with a smile on my face my woman is coming over tommorow and I can’t wait.

“Good evening sir, Aunt Maggie has asked me to check if you would mind to have dinner in your room or… the female Omega asked as she bowed.

“I am not hungry” I said and focused on what I was typing on the laptop.

“Sir but she has….” she trailed softly.

“Tell Aunt Maggie I don’t have the appetite to eat anything” I said and she left. Immediately.

I worked for sometime before dropping the laptop on the table, I moved into the bathroom to freshen up and call it a night. The moment I walked out of the bathroom. with a towel tied around my waist, I bumped into Lina on my bed with robe.

“Lina” I said in shock.

“Baby” she said smiling seductively.

“Excuse me !” I said in shock.

“Xavier baby…I miss you” she said getting up from the bed.

“Stop right there Lina, what is wrong with you?” I asked in annoyance.

“Nothing is wrong with me, I just can’t seat back and watch another woman take away what’s mine !” she bursted angrily.

“That is what am talking about or are we going to pretend like her name doesn’t ring at bell? that woman has ruined the happy family that we used to have before she came into the picture” she said angrily.

“Get out, I do not want to embarrass you, please leave” I said and watched her match. out of my room angrily.

Is Lina for real right now? What made her think seeing her n*kedness would make me change my mind. I walked over to the door to make sure it was properly locked.

“Jeez” I cursed under my breath as I stared at the door one more time while trying to wrap my mind around what she just did. I need to be very careful with Lina before she ruins things between Rachel and I.

The next morning I walked out of my room and Jayden bowed in respect.

“What is it?” I asked and he stared at me curiously.

“I just asked you a question, why you are standing outside my room Jayden???” I asked and he peaked behind my shoulders.

“What is wrong? is there something behind me?” I asked and he shook his head. immediately.

“No, I just come to check if you are okay” he said and I frowned.

“Why wouldn’t I be okay? I’m fine of course” I said while walking at the front.

“Is there someone in your room?” he asked and I turned immediately.

“Why?” I asked suspiciously.

“No it’s nothing” he said and I walked towards the sitting room.

“Good morning Aunt Maggie” I said and she smiled in my direction.

“Aunt Maggie” I said and she turned towards me from the breakfast table.

“Son, good morning sweetheart” she said as we exchanged cheek k*sses.

“Come join me for breakfast” she said gesturing towards my sit at the far end.

“Where is my son ?” I asked and Derrick walked downstairs with the company of his

nanny.

“Good morning Daddy” he said and k*ssed my cheeks.

“Good morning champ” I said and he sat down next to me.

We had breakfast together and as Jayden joined us on the table, he looked really disturbed.

“Rachel and Damien would be joining us this afternoon” I said and Derrick jumped happily.

“Yeah!” Derrick said as he hugged me in excitement.

“We are going to have lots of fun” he said jumping excitedly and I smiled.

“I’m going to go pick them up after your classes and am sure we will have a lot of fun together” I said and he smiled.

“Rachel and her son are coming over?” Aunt Maggie asked excitedly.

“Yes Aunt” I said and she smiled.

She has such a lovely son” Aunt said and I smiled.

“I think I like her a lot” I said smiling and aunt chuckled.

“It’s written all over your face” she said and I laughed.

“It is Rachel’s effect” I said and she laughed.

“It’s definitely the Rachel effect” she said and Derrick jumped excitedly.
