Xavier stared at me quietly as I made my way over to him, we stared at each other as the brightness from the moon is centered on us.
âIs everything okay XAVIER, talk to meâ¦you know am always hereâ I said and he just stared at me with his blood shot eyes.
âEmeraldâ he said and I sucked under my breath.
âWhat are you saying XAVIER, I thought we talked about this? you are not supposed to call me the name of your exâ I said trying to get away from his grip.
âWhy do I keep having this feeling like I know you, I try to believe you are Rachel and not Emerald but my heart keeps saying different things lately. I donât even know if I can trust you anymoreâ he said and I raised my eyebrows.
âExcuse me!â I bursted angrily but deep down I was literally freaking out.
âIf you loved her that much why donât you go look for her!â I said raising my voice furiously.
âEverything scares me lately, the fear of failure andâ¦.now I feel like things are getting worse every single dayâ he said and I wouldnât have heard him if I wasnât standing so close to his, Xavier looks destroyed.
âI am sorry I called you Emerald, maybe am just overthinking thingsâ he said and I gave a nod.
âEverything is going to be okayâ I said and pulled him into my arms as he hugged me emotionally. The fact that he was being vunerable in front of me made me feel very guilty.
We got out of the water and sat on the grass like old times as we stared into the waters.
âWhat is on your mind?â I asked when I noticed he was very quiet.
âTime flys so fastâ he said and I raised my eyebrows..
âHeyâ¦.â I said holding his hand, and his voice broke down at the edge as I noticed he was crying on the inside.
âI feel so confused right now Rachel, I donât know if I made the right decisions in life. Thinking about it now, what if everything I have considered the truth in my life so far was a blatant lie?â he asked and I just stared at him sadly.

âMummyâ the kids said as they ran into my arms excitedly.
âHey babies, how are you doing?â I asked and Derrick looked around.

âWhere is my Daddy Rachel ? is he okay now I heard his company building got burnt to the groundâ Derrick said, and guilt watched over me immediately.
