“It is natural to feel guilty after what you did Rachel, I mean the human aspect won’t feel comfortable after doing something like that” he said and she sighed.

“I’m still pushing through with it Penny, we can’t back out now that we’ve started it” I said and Penny gave a nod.

“How is your relationship with my father” I asked and she sighed.

“I don’t know what to say for now Rachel” she said and sat down on the chair with thud.

“What do you mean by you don’t know what to say? I’m confused” I said and she pinched the bridge of her nose.

“I feel like Blake is up to something, he seems very worried these few days. I don’t even understand him any more” Penny said and I held her hands.

“Maybe you are over thinking it, am sure dad is okay” I said and she raised her eyebrows.

“He is fine babe” I said and she gave a nod.

“I slept with Xavier again, this time without protection” I said and her jaws literally.

“YOU DID WHAT!” she said in shock.

“Can you calm down first” I asked and she raised her eyebrows.

“It is impossible to calm down, considering the fact that you keep sleeping with Xavier like you guys are a normal couple. Do you know just how risky that is ?” she asked and my eyes looked around the room then back at her beautiful face.

“Will you at least calm down? you are making me feel guilty” I said and she chuckled.

“Guilty indeed” she said playfully.

“Just be careful, we don’t want a situation where you get hurt because you ended up falling inlove with him all over again. At this point you and I know just how possible that is” she said and I sighed.

“I think I still have my mind in the game” I said and she gave a nod. We talked about random stuffs before I received a text from Dad to meet him in his office.

“I will talk to you later babe” I said and walked out.

Chapter 60

The ride to the office was a quiet one, I have a lot of things in my mind. The game, my kids and Gabriel Fernandez. My thoughts did wonder towards Xavier once in a while but at this point, I don’t even know what to do or the right decisions to take. Thinking about it now was even making my head bang with serious headache.

“Welcome ma’am Rachel” someone greeted as I made my way into the company’s. I walked straight to my father’s office.

“Father” I said and he gestured for me to sit on the chair at the opposite side of the table, and I gave a nod as I sat down quietly

His office has dark interior and he had a lot of files on the table. He has stress lines on his forehead, looking at him the words Penny said to me earlier came to my mind.

“What happened?” I asked and Dad sighed.

“I called you here because we need to talk” he said and I frowned.

“About what?” I asked and he opened his mouth to say something then looked away.

“Is it about the game with the Red blood pack father? I told you we have everything under control. Besides, the last time we had a meeting with Mr Fernandez we talked about it” I said and Dad gave a nod

“Don’t you think it is high time you come back home with your sons? things are getting serious everyday, and the biggest mistake you can make is staying there until things get d*rty. You won’t be able to leave when things get worse” he said and for some reason his words hit me.

Things would get d*rty when Xavier gets an hint about my betrayal, he would be broken and I won’t be suprised if he rips my heart out due to the pain. But then, everything has to be done according to plan Irrespective of the outcome. We can’t stop everything because of the fear of the unknown.

“I can’t just leave his pack with the kids, that is too suspicious Dad” I said and he nod.

“What do plan to do next?” Dad asked curiously.

“I don’t think we should be discussing this in the absence of Gabriel Fernandez and Penny” I said and sat down calmly as he lit up a stick of ciggarrate.

“You shouldn’t trust him that much, I know we all have been doing this together but we should have a plan that he doesn’t know about” dad said and that got me a bit confused. I wanted to ask him questions but then, he is my Dad and I can’t just ask him questions like that. He introduced me to Gabriel Fernandez and if he thinks we should have plans behind the man’s back, then he have his reason.

We talked about my plans after which I left his office with a familiar feeling of hurt burning in my chest. Whatever we had up our sleeves for Xavier and his pack was not good at all, thinking about it made me feel guilty. But then I kept reminding myself about just how much they deserved it.

The ride back to Xaiver’s pack was a quiet one, my mind was roaming in different angles, different thought run through my head. As I drove I felt like I was been stalked, I smirked when my suspicions got confirmed immediately the person took the same.

Whoever the person was, I heard the hunch that he or she was not up to no good. It stepped on the gas and that is when someone began to shoot, my heart beat crazily against my chest as I tried to escape. I focused on trying to escape as I drove fast.

My phone rang on the chair next to me, and I used my other end to pick the call immediately I noticed the caller ID.

“Hey baby” Xavier said on the other end of the phone.

“Xa…..v!” I said as I tried not to panick.

“Are you okay? why do you sound like you can’t breathe” he asked worriedly.

“I think someone wants to hurt me” I said and he fell quiet before I heard his loud footsteps.

“Where are you? can you tell me where you are” he asked and I could detect the worry. in his voice as gunshots filled the air.

“Xavier…..!” I screamed in fear.

“I’m on my way, calm down uhn, I promise am not going to let anything happen to you” he said and I screamed in horror.

A bright light flashed in front of me that was the last thing I remembered before everywhere went blank.

“What do you mean by Rachel got into an accident?” Gabriel asked as he walked out of his office angrily.

“Blake I told you to profect Rachel” he said and silence was what meet on the other

hand.

“Blake” he called again and when he didn’t get any response he picked his car keys and decided to go to the address where Blake had sent to him.

The drive to the hospital was a quiet one, when he got there his eyes caught sight of Penny and Xavier.

“How is she doing?” he asked Penelope and Xavier’s eyes moved over to him.

“What are you doing here?” he asked with a frown on his face and Gabriel looked away.

“I asked you a question Gabriel, what the hell are you doing here” Xavier asked as he felt anger boil in the pit of his stomach. Jayden on the other end kept wondering what Gabriel I’d doing in the hospital.

What was the connection between Rachel and one of Xavier’s most biggest enemy. He knew he was also an enemy of Xavier’s but then, everyone including the media had an hint about just how much the two men hated each other.

“This is a hospital Xavier Jason, I don’t think I owe you an explanation to what I am doing here, it is non of your business !” Gabriel said and Xavier walked over to him.

“I told you to stay away from her” Xavier said and Gabriel chuckled.

“Telling me to stay away from her is just you being an insecure ba stard!” Gabriel said. and Xavier’s eyes burned in anger.

“What did you just say?” Xavier asked getting pis sed off.

“I said what I just said. I’m not one of those park members of yours Xavier, I advice you. be in your lane. After all, you are the most terrible alpha in the whole of werewolf realm” Gabriel said and Xavier punched him on the face angrily.

“Guys stop it!” Penny screamed as she tried to get in between them, the both of them threw punches at each other.

“Xavier get a grip over yourself” Jayden said when they managed to separate the both of them. Gilbert stood at the other end bleeding from his nose, while Xavier has a cut on his forehead.

“Watch your f ucking back! Gilbert said pointing at Xavier.
