Xavier got down from the car and extended his hand over to me, I took his hand as we walked towards the venue together. We were currently in a big garden with beautiful flowers and fresh smell of nature.

“This is so beautiful” I said as my eyes moved over to the mat on the green grass.

“The court sent us an official statement” he said after some minutes.

I raised my eyebrows wondering what he was talking about and he sighed softly.

“Lina and I are officially divorced, it happened even before I got the news about X constructions. I had plans of telling you that morning” he said and I held his hand. tightly, he smiled and I give a nod.

“Are you okay?” I asked and he give a nod.

“I have you” he said and guilt washed over me immediately. What difference does my actions make from his? He led me on in the past and broke my heart into a million pieces, I am doing the same thing now and I feel terrible for doing this.

“I know things are not really that okay for now, but I want to try to be the best man for you. I have made a lot of mistakes in my life and I want to be a better version of myself, not only for you but for myself and the pack members” he said and I gave a nod while trying to process everything I just heard.

“You are not a bad person” I said and even the words felt strange in my mouth. I was. saying something and thinking exactly the opposite, my mind and heart thought of Xavier in different ways.

“You are just being manipulative” Nala said in my head and her words hit me a hard.

“Babe” I heard his voice and snapped out of my thoughts when I noticed him bend down on one knee.

“Xav….” I trailed in shock.

“What are you doing….?” I stuttered and he shook his head.

“I know this seems too fast, but am certain about how I feel for you Rachel, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, I promise to be a good father to both Damien and Derrick. I promise to be the best version of myself” he said and I could see the nervousness in his words.

“What am I going to do?” I wondered as I tried my best not to freak out.

“Will you marry me?” he asked and I stared at him with my heart beating crazily against my chest. We have come this far to start having different thoughts.

“Yes yes yes !” I said excitedly and he chuckled as he put the ring on my finger.

“For a minute, I thought you would say no he said and I laughed.

“I can’t wait to see you on a white dress saying I do” he said and I chuckled. Deep down I knew the wedding would not hold because following our plans, Xavier was only making a fool out of himself with this proposal.

We stayed at the garden talking about different things until it was late.

“We should get going” Xavier said and I stood up as we both walked to the car together. The ride back to the house was a quiet one.

Immediately we got to the room, Xavier and I decided to take a shower together. Bathing together also ended up in the other stuff but then, I guess I needed the fun too.

Xavier fell asleep immediately we got to the bed, he fell asleep and I walked out of the room. If I want to know the truth about Jayden, then it was definitely be at night. because am sure he would not be so stupid to do anything in broad day light.

I stood in the dark as my eyes roamed the sitting room, that is when I saw him walk towards the exit of the sitting room.

Where is he heading to? I wondered as I made my way outside with stalking him. There is no way I’ll let him out of the hook just like that.

He started walking towards the bushes and a frown appeared on my face, I hid behind and tried to figure out what he was up to…

“How many times do I have to tell you this!” he bursted angrily, and I tried to see the person he was talking to.

“Jayden it id not my fault, am just so scared and you are not even seeing the reasons, it hurt so much!” the person bursted angrily as her voice broke at the edge, my eyes widened in shock when I realized who owned the voice.

“Lina you have to get an abortion” he said and she cried.

“I’m not getting an abortion, this is the third time Jayden I can’t keep killing our child. because of this selfish agenda. I’m done” she said crying and my heart broke down hearing her voice.

“You are not done, you can’t be done with me Lina I call the shots here!” he bursted angrily and I didn’t know what to say to that. The fact that Jayden was a wolf in sheep’s clothing was breaking my heart.

“You are not serious” he said and I couldn’t hear the words that followed. Right where 1 stood, I couldn’t say a word I waited for them to go back before going back to Xavier’s room. When I got to the room, I sat on the bed as tears rolled out my eyes.

I was thinking about a lot of things but the greatest thing in my mind was how Xavier would feel when he hears about this betrayal. How will he handle everything?

“Babe why ain’t you sleeping yet?” Xavier asked as his eyes met mine.

“It’s nothing, I’m just a bit tired and am not feeling sleepy” I said and he gestured for me

to come.

“Come here” he said and I got on the bed as he rubbed my arms softly.

“Don’t stress yourself too much, maybe you try get some sleep” he said and I smiled.

“Ain’t you tired?” he asked and I give a nod as we lay back on the bed quietly, my eyes. stung with unshed tears.

The more I found out about the secrets surrounding the pack house, the more I freaked

out.

What if everything I knew was not the truth? Even the thought of it began to freak me out and deep down, it made me question my motive all over again.

“Sweet sleep my love” Xavier said and he k*ssed my forehead. I closed my eyes and tried to get some sleep.

{The Next morning}

We were still in our room when Xavier cursed under his breath while scrolling through his phone, he walked out to make a phone call then came back worriedly.

“Is everything okay?” I asked in concern.
