The moment Xavier asked me about the stress lines on my forehead, I could not help but stare at him speechlessly. Was it that obvious that I had a lot on my mind lately?
âYouâve not said anythingâ he said with a teasing smile on his face.

ust work relatedâ I said and he chuckled.
âThe stress lines on my forehead is also work related baby, you have nothing to worry aboutâ he said and I smiled.
I knew he just lied to me, but then I did not want to pressure him into telling me what was running through his mind, that would only make him more suspicious of me.
âI had a hectic day at the office, whatâs up with you and the elders? I saw some of them leaving earlierâ I said and he sighed.
âMost of them think am incapable of handling the affairs of the pack and should just step downâ he said and I stared at him in shock.
âThat must have hurtâ I said genuinely feeling bad for him. After all, I remember just how much he put into practicing to take over from his father, just to receive such a cruel word from the elders.
âIâm used to it, my father used to say worse when he was aliveâ he added as we both walked out of the conference room and towards our room together.
âBeing used to abusive words does not make it right my loveâ I said and he sighed.
âThey do not respect me because my father made it so. Rachel Iâve told you many times. how much I will do just to make sure my reign is different from my Fatherâsâ he said in hurt.
âAlthough I am not in support of how he died, my father lived a bad life, he took over neighboring packs forcefully to increase his rank in the werewolf realm. âWith you by my side I believe everything is already okayâ he said and I chuckled.
âWe should go and check on the kids Mr lover boyâ I said and he laughed. We walked towards the kids room, and they waved at us immediately we got in.
âWhat are you up to?â I asked as my eyes moved from Derrick to Damien and from Damien to Derrick.
âWe were making cards for you and Daddyâ Derrick said and Xavier stared at them with. amusement in his eyes.
âWhat kind of card?â he asked curiously as we sat next to them.
âA greeting card, we figured out you and Dad have been very busy lately and wanted to do something special for the both of youâ Damien said and my eyes stung with tears hearing him refer to Xavier as Dad.
Xavier must have noticed it too because he held my hand in support, but that only made me feel more guilty. He never hid it from me that Derrick was his son with Emerald, even when he held some kind of resentment towards the memories he shared with me as Emerald.
But Iâve lived with him, slept with him, ruined his life and is planning to wreck him. Yet still have the heart to hide a father from his son.
âHey itâs okayâ Xavier said as he k*ssed my cheeks I chuckled out tears.
For years I have called him heartless monster, but now itâs beginning to rub on my face that I was no different than him.Maybe just maybe am worse.

âIs everything okay? I totally understand if you are not comfortable with him calling me Dadâ¦.we

âIâm very sure, it is not even what you think I just had something on my mindâ I said. with a chuckle.
âIâm not comfortable with you crying it breaks my heartâ he said and I sniffed back the tears that threatened to fall out of my eyes as I chuckled.
How ironic that he canât watch Rachel in tears, yet he watched Emerald beg and cry for his mercy. Too bad they are both two people.

âGood job, I liked how you poured the words on him like hot fireâ Jayden said as he handed some notes to the Elder at the dead of the night..
âI support you, immediately he steps down as the pack Alpha we will make sure you become the next Alphaâ he said and Jayden smirked.
âItâs wonderful to see I still have someone who supports me in my fight to overthrow Xavierâ he said and the man smiled.
âI support you because you deserve to be supported you are a good manâ he said and Jayden smirked.
âYou should go, I donât want us to be seen togetherâ he said and the elder left.
Jayden checked if the coast was clear before making his way back to his penthouse.
âMy loveâ he said k*ssing Lina on her bare back.
âIâm not interestedâ she said softly and he stared at her back in shock.
âWhat do you mean by you are not interested? Iâm your boyfriend Linaâ he said in frustration.
