The biggest thing on the two’s mind right now was to go and marry Lili. They went over to Lili’s Xu Bao but, lo and behold, they had flipped sides and refused to engage with them.

“Lili, Lili. C’mon out.” Xu Bao shouted nervously.

“I’ve already told you that our Lili is not home. Get going already.” Mother Lili walked out with a big bucket of water and almost splattered them onto Lao Xu.

“Earlier you said you refused to marry because there is no house. There is a house now, and under your Lili’s name no less. Of course they must get married.” Wu Ailan was anxious too.

“When have you ever given 30,000 to Lili for a house? Can you prove it? We bought the house for Lili. 38,000 yuan in total. The two of us went to the bank to withdraw it and handed it to the seller. Lao Xu tugged at Wu Ailan. They had just called the cops and most definitely could not nilly willy call them again. Turning to Xu Bao, he asked. “Where did they buy the house from? Did you see the seller?”

“No. Lili had always been the one in contact with them. She said a relative of hers is in the process of getting a new place so they are selling their old place for cheap. When she found out from me yesterday that we have 30,000 yuan at home, she said she can have her parents come up with the rest so we can buy the house first. I... I was going to go with but Lili wouldn’t let me. I saw the title though,” said Xu Bao, stupefied.

Lao Xu really wanted to slap him across his face. So what if he had saw the title? His name wasn’t on it.

“So you weren’t involved in the entire process?” Wu Ailan could feel her head getting bigger.

“That’s not possible. Lili would never lie to me. Aunty, just tell me where Lili is. Let me go talk to her.” Xu Bao refused to believe that the kind and nice Lili would lie to him.

As they talked, they saw Lili walked over with a man in her arms while chatting and giggling. Xu Bao rushed up to her, his eyes beet red.

The smile disappeared on Lili. Lifting up her chin, she said, “This is my boyfriend and he works at the government. We will be engaging next month. I do not wish to see you again.”

“I am going to kill you both!” Shouted Xu Bao as he rushed up to the two of them.

They didn’t go to the police station earlier but they did now. Even the cops were speechless when they saw the Xu couple and Xu Bao. Xu Bao had his head lowered when he arrived at the police station and told the entire story.

There was nobody else there when he gave the money to Lili, nor was he there when the house was purchased. He had no way to prove that the money was his. There was no contract between them and the money for the house, indeed, came out of Lili’s father’s account. There was no way to prove that he had given the money to Lili. This issue would drag on for a while.

In addition to that, Xu Bao was to be detained for 7 days for beating someone and, if Lili’s boyfriend’s injuries were serious, he could be sued and go to jail.

Both Lao Xu and Wu Ailan were stupefied.

Yingying’s parents had already been out of jail for 3-4 days and still there was nothing.

Shu Yan said during lunch that day, “I don’t think they will dare to come. You don’t need to stick around all day long. You had taken quite a few days off already. “Lao Liu told me that you are going merchandizing tonight?”

Shu Yan gave him a surprised look. She didn’t think that he would point blank said it out loud that Lao Liu was his spy. Her lips curved upward some and she said, “That’s right. I ran out of many of the styles and need to get some more.”

“I need to go visit Duoduo as well. You don’t mind me tagging along, do you?”

Shu Yan couldn’t shake the feeling that what he said was very loaded.

“I don’t mean anything by it. It really is just a coincidence.”

Shu Yan acknowledged that. “The road will be rough tonight. You still want to go?”

Feng Zeyu’s fists that had been resting on his thighs clenched into fists instantly and he said, “I am a person who had died a few times in the past. Nothing could be as bad as that.”
