Mother and Father Hu arrived and Hu Ruiyang exchanged a word with them before he had to go. Shu Yan knew that he had gone back to look for Ji Fansheng. Shu Yan didnât comment on that. There were prices to pay with oneâs mistakes. His behaviors disgusted her.
Feng Zeyu gave Ji Fansheng a beating, picking where it hurt most but wouldnât leave any marks. They were trained professionally and not even the hospital would be able to tell.
Feng Zeyu bowed out of it after Hu Ruiyang took over. He returned to his company with his men and gave Shu Yan a call. âIs she alright?â
âSheâs fine. Just need a few daysâ rest. How are things on your end?â
âHu Ruiyangâs men were over. I trust that they could take care of it from this point forward.â
âThank you so much today. We wouldnât have been able to locate her so quickly if not for your help.â Shu Yan was still scared even now.
âYou donât need to thank me.â Feng Zeyu didnât like to hear that.
Shu Yanâs lips curved a little. She knew that Feng Zeyu said that on purpose just to help her relax. They chatted for a little longer before they ended the call.
Hu Ruixue woke up after 7 PM that night. She started crying immediately when she saw Shu Yan and Mother Hu.
She was truly scared this time.
âItâs alright. Everything is fine now,â said Mother Hu as she hugged Hu Ruixue and patted her on her back.
Shu Yan exited the room. Sometimes all one need was their mother.
Hu Ruiyang returned with a tired look. âIs Xiao Xue awake?â
âShe just woke up and is talking to your mother.â Shu Yan sat down on a chair. âWhat did you do with Ji Fansheng?â
âI wonât go in just yet then.â Hu Ruiyang sat down next to Shu Yan, leaving one-manâs distance between the two of them. âWe found a lot of coal at Ji Fanshengâs mansion and a will. That [email protected]@rd planned to commit suicide taking Xiao Xue with him.â
âHad he lost his mind?â Shu Yanâs voice was high-pitched. Remembering that she was at a hospital, she lowered her voice. âWas he out of his mind?â
âHe was out of his mind. I had my men looked into him and found out that he had a history of mental illness. He suffers from a serious delusional disorder. He would have a person in his mind and interact with this person. Apparently, that person was Xiao Xue. He was so good at hiding it that none of us even noticed it.â Hu Ruiyang narrowed his eyes. They may not know about it but for sure Ji Fanshengâs parents knew about it. Nevertheless, Mother Ji had been visiting the Hu family frequently as of late and obviously wanted Hu Ruixue to marry into their family.
Mother Hu thought that Mother Ji was very progressive and would be a good mother-in-law. Now they realized that they couldnât have been more wrong.
âIf he was mentally ill then they should have sent him to a mental institution. They shouldnât have let him run around and endanger others, no?â Hu Ruiyang sneered. The Ji family was no longer the Ji family back in the days. If they had tried to lie to them hoping to marry Hu Ruixue, then they should be prepared to withstand Hu familyâs fury.
Shu Yan didnât object to that. She couldnât imagine what would have happened to Hu Ruixue had they not arrived when they did.
Hu Ruixue stayed for three days at the hospital. Her body had recovered but she was scarred psychologically. The psychologist said that she would need time to cover from that. Most of the work at their company landed on Shu Yan. That didnât matter. Shu Yan only wished for Hu Ruixueâs quick recovery.
After this event, Hu Ruixue had Feng Zeyu assigned two bodyguards for her and one of them being the lead of the security team. He was the first to rush into the room, pulled Ji Fansheng off of her and knock him down with one punch. The scene replayed in Hu Ruixueâs head repeatedly and she didnât care that Feng Zeyu said that he had a slight limp. Hu Ruixue insisted on his protection.
