Dunira : Rise of the chosenWords: 11055

Opening line

“When roots awaken

and shadows grip tight,

only the chosen

can stand and fight.”

After history class, Kaelric stepped into the corridor.

The breeze felt unusually heavy.

He stepped out into the veranda, scanning the sparse crowd. That’s when he spotted Sansa, arms folded, eyes narrowed like she was thinking too hard for this hour.

“Hey,” he called out, approaching her. “Where’s Dunira?”

Sansa looked up, surprised. “She’s probably at her Hydrokai class... it should be running about now.”

Kaelric hesitated. “But have you seen her after the Vespara thing?

Sansa shifted uncomfortably. No..“I thought the same. Maybe just peek into her class once?”

“Hydrokai’s restricted. Only Lunareth students allowed inside,” Kaelric replied, brows furrowing.

“Then at least ask someone outside if she’s in there,” Sansa said

Kaelric nodded. “Alright.

They began to walk ..

...

Meanwhile, in the 📍Hidden Chamber

“Officer…?” Dunira’s voice was unsure.

“You must be surprised,” the officer said softly. “Even I hadn’t imagined meeting you like this… but the situation demands it. Please—have a seat.”

Dunira looked around the chamber, confused.

The people around her weren’t treating her as a strangers..

They were smiling at her—softly, knowingly.

With a strange warmth in their eyes…

Like they already knew her.

Like they had waited for this moment.

She sat slowly on a wooden chair.

The chair creaked, softly murmuring beneath her.

Dunira glanced at it.

Sirevan smiled faintly.

“Sit comfortably. It tends to mutter. It's from Theravine... likely recognized you already.”

Dunira looked between the two.

“What is this place…? And why was I brought here like this?”

Vespara didn’t respond right away.

She turned instead—toward the tall curtain covering the wall beside them.

She walked to it, gripped the edge… and pulled.

Behind the curtain—

Seven elemental symbols.

Each etched in stone.

Each glowing faintly in its own hue.

Vespara turned toward Dunira, her voice calm yet echoing with memory.

🌊 “Lunareth,” she said, pointing to the symbol of the wave.

“The water clan.

The first to rise.

The origin of all life in Auralis.

Half your blood flows from here… from your mother’s side.”

> “When Auralis was still formless, it was the Waters that moved first.

It shaped rivers, carved lands, whispered to the skies.

Water gave life… but it also remembered everything.”

---

🌿 “Then came Theravine,” she continued, tracing the mark of a tree root.

“From your father’s side.”

> “Born from the oldest forests,

Theravine rose with the trees and lived by their breath.

They are the roots beneath Auralis itself.”

---

🔥 “After that—Igniseth.”

> “Born of the flame that cracked the mountains,

Igniseth was fierce, proud, unyielding.

They were the warriors of heat and hunger.

Their passion… built and broke worlds alike.”

---

💡 Vespara’s finger moved to two symbols side by side.

Solyndor and Durakar.

> Solyndor:

“Forged from sunlight, radiant and just.

They stood for wisdom, clarity, and peace.

But even light can blind…”

> Durakar:

“Stone and metal shaped this clan.

They spoke little—listened deeply.

Unmoving when storms passed.

Builders. Protectors. Our most of warriors belongs to Durakar.”

🌑 Her hand paused at the final symbol.

Dark. Faintly pulsing.

Noctherra.

> “When light spread across Auralis… it cast its own shadow.

From that darkness, Shadow was born.

Elusive. Misunderstood.

They did not seek to belong.

They simply… were.”

Vespara stepped back.

“In the beginning,” she said, “each clan lived as neighbors.

Divided by land, united by balance.

Cities flourished. Families grew.

They lived—not as enemies—but as parts of a whole.”

Her voice darkened.

“But then… the skies shifted.

Other Planets in the universe looked down upon Auralis with greed.

And so, the clans formed a defense—not for conquest, but peace.

The Elemental Guard.

A military, but not for war.

For protection.”

Sirevan stepped forward.

“The Noctherians—those born of Shadow—were central to this force.

Their power was unmatched.

They can manipulate minds and some could drain the energy of any enemy.

Even now, we barely understand how far their strength goes.”

He took a breath.

“But then came the fall.

They knew there powers are unmatched so they wanted authority.

They wanted to rule Auralis wanted to break the unity and freedom of each clans and wanted to control.

Even when all six stood together—they couldn’t stop them.”

Dunira’s breath caught in her chest.

“Until…”

Sirevan looked towards Dunira.

“…a woman called Luna stood alone.”

Dunira whispered, “A woman… alone?”

“Yes,” said Sirevan.

“She wasn’t from another world.

She was from Lunareth.”

Vespara stepped closer, her voice low.

“They say she married a Noctherian.

She knew their secrets.

She knew how they thought.

She knew what they feared.”

Sirevan continued, “She was the only one…

whose power the Noctherians could not drain.

The only one who made them flee.”

Dunira could feel her heart racing.

“But she also knew,” Vespara said quietly,

“that they hadn’t been defeated.

Only hidden.

Waiting.”

“She took an oath.”

Sirevan’s voice rang like stone.

> “That's when they returned,

A chosen one would rise again…

to stop what they could not.”

Dunira took a step back.

“Luna… the oath…” she whispered, memories of her dreams beginning to connect.

Her eyes widened.

“…then… that heir…?”

Sirevan met her gaze.

“You.”

Dunira’s heart dropped.

Wha-t mee?

Meanwhile, at Valathir, Sansa and Kaelric stood outside the Hydrokai class.

A woman stepped out—beautiful and captivating, with the timeless grace of a Lunareth nymph, halfway between youth and maturity.

She smiled at them. “Kaelric, and uh...?”

“Sansa,” Sansa answered quickly.

“Hello, Miss Lerina. Is Dunira with you in class?”

Lerina gave them a confused look. “I don’t know, kids. She hasn’t been attending lately. I was wondering that myself... Is everything okay?”

Kaelric’s heart pounded. He took a deep breath, his chest rising as he forced out, “Uh, yeah. We’ll see you next time, Miss. Bye.”

They ran down the corridor to the right.

Lerina watched them, puzzled. These kids...

---

Sansa sprinted, “Where are we going?

Kaelric replied, Vespara's office..

They arrived at the office—but no one was there.

“Oh no,” Kaelric muttered.

“What? Where are they?” Sansa asked anxiously.

They were about to leave when suddenly Vespara appeared behind them. Something was off.

“Where is Dunira?” Kaelric’s voice was sharp, tinged with anger.

A calm voice answered from behind Vespara. Dunira stepped forward, standing firm.

“What’s wrong with you two?” Dunira asked.

Kaelric grabbed her hand and pulled her outside the office.Giving Vespara a threatening look

Vespara turned to watch them leave.

At the corner of the veranda, Kaelric grabbed Dunira, pulling her up sharply his grip was so tight on dunira's wrist it started painting.

Dunira forcefully removed his hands . “What are you doing?” she said angrily.

“Where were you with Vespara? You know last time we found her pendant at green lake” but still.. don't be too naive ..Kaelric said ...his eyes were full of anger due to her carelessness.

“Enough, Kaelric. You can’t say all this without knowing the full story. And by the way, why r u being so controlling. I’m not your girlfriend,” Dunira snapped.

Sansa’s eyes went wide—she mouthed silently, Damn it!

Kaelric’s anger melted into sadness. His expressions dropped, He gave a small, bitter smile. “Yeah, you’re right. Thanks for reminding me.” Then he turned and walked away.

“Are you crazy? You talked to him like that? You have any idea how worried he was? He was searching everywhere for you in the school!” Sansa said, exasperated.

Dunira looked down, i didn't asked him to...

Uhh ..u didn't had to that's what friends do..said Sansa ...

Sansa started to walk away.

“Dunira, wait! Where are you going now?”

“Go apologize to him. Then talk to me,” Sansa called.

Dunira sighed, “Oh god, my mouth... Can't you just shut up?” she muttered to herself.

-Scene changes in Valathir library 📚

At the library, Dunira stood between two rows of books, watching Kaelric from behind who was seated and reading a book titled "Feeling is an Illusion". (😂)

She bit her lip, trying to practice whispering, “I’m sorry, Kaelric...“Ughmm, Hey Kael, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have said that. Please, just forget it.

Hey It’s not the first time I said something like that to you…”

Frustration bubbled up inside her. “Ugh... Chosen one or me, I can't even apologize properly,” she muttered, messing up her hair in annoyance.

A tall boy from Clan Theravine, with spark-like black eyes and tousled black hair, stood with a gentle smile.

"Oh, Josh! You're here," said Dunira.

“Yeah, you haven’t been to school for days. Are you okay?” and nor I saw u at the vielpond these days..Josh asked.

Well am mostly late and am messed up rightnow with my own things..so said Dunira

“i understand..I heard about Lira. Am sorry...Let me know if there’s anything I can do,” he said with a genuine smile.

He casually fixed her messy hair.

---

From a distance, Drake watched all this and then walked over to Kaelric, sitting beside him.

“Hey man, look behind, if you don’t want to regret it.”

“What now?” Kaelric asked.

“Look...” Drake nodded toward Dunira.

Both turned and watched as Josh gently set Dunira’s hair, and she laughed awkwardly. “Sorry, I’ve been a mess lately.”

Kaelric’s jaw clenched.

Drake leaned in and whispered, “Do you still think...?”

BAM!

Kaelric slammed a book into his face without warning.

“Ouch!” Drake yelped, holding his nose.

Then, with a forced smile and a dramatic shrug, he added,

“No no, really—don’t thank me or anything.

Kaelric strode toward Dunira, pushing Josh aside with one hand.

Josh stumbled backward, confused. “What the—?”

“Hey Josh, how are you, man? Looking fit, huh?” Kaelric said with a friendly grin.

Josh blinked. “Do we really know each other that well?”

Dunira watched, confused. “You guys know each other?”

Josh looked uncertain. “Yeah... we used to play together...said kaelric ..back in ....2nd grade

“Well, if you don’t mind, Josh, we’ll talk another day. I have a lot to share with you,” Kaelric said, his tone shifting.

Kaelric walked toward Dunira, his jaw tight, eyes avoiding hers too carefully.

“If you’ll excuse me, I have some... urgent business with this woman,” he said stiffly, like the word left a bitter taste

Dunira raised an eyebrow

“Women... seriously,” Dunira muttered.
