Bravery without purpose is a path ruin.
ð¤ï¸ Dunira's Balcony, Early Morning
Dunira sat quietly on her balcony.
The morning sun brushed her hair in soft golden threads.
In her hand was a dolphin-shaped clip â she stared at it, lost in thought. Sadness clung to her.
Myna sat curled on her lap, watching her.
Dunira (faint smile, looking at her):
âOh Myna... Iâm fine.â
She glanced back at the horizon.
Dunira (quietly):
âMother used to say the dreams of Lunarethâs descendants always carry deep meanings.
But Iâve ignored them all my life.
Now⦠they scare me, now my dream feels so real like am actually there.
I donât know whatâs happening anymore.
And Lira⦠who knows what condition sheâs inâ¦â
A tear slid down Duniraâs cheek â slow, silent, without expression.
She didnât cry out loud. But the sadness was heavy.
Myna reached up with her tiny hand, gently wiping away Duniraâs tear.
Myna:
âDonât worry. Weâll find her.â
Dunira (looking down):
âWe?â
Myna (firm):
âWhat do you think? That youâll just sit here and cry forever?
You werenât like this before. You used to question everything. You were brave. You didnât just sit back.â
Dunira (weakly):
âBut this time⦠itâs bigger. And Iâ¦â
Myna (interrupts):
âThese dreams. The Veilpond visions. Why are you the only one seeing them?
And why now â just when strange things happening in Auralis?
This has to be connected to you somehow.â
Dunira (slowly):
âYou think I should go after Liraâ¦?â
Unknown voice (from behind):
âNot alone. Iâm coming with you.â
Kaelric climbed over the balcony railing, slightly out of breath, brushing back his wind-swept hair.
Kaelric (grinning):
âHey Dream Girl. Why go alone when Iâm right here?â
Dunira (shocked):
âWhat?! What are you doing here?! Are you insane? Get down from there!â
She rushed toward him, but Myna stepped between them.
Myna:
âI called him.
The three of us are going to find Lira.
Me â the smartest miniature in Auralis.
Kaelric â one of the strongest Igniseth in valathir.
And youâ¦â (she paused, thinking)
âYouâre good too.â
Kaelric (laughing):
âYou shouldâve seen how she slammed Moron down. It was epic!â
Myna (eyes wide):
âReally?!â
Kaelric:
âYep. Ask her ââ
Dunira (cutting in):
âUgh, both of you shut up.â
She turned to Kaelric.
Dunira:
âWhat will you do when your father finds out youâre here?â
Kaelric (shrugging):
âDonât worry about that.â
Dunira (firm):
âIf weâre really going, Iâll go alone. Just me and Myna. Youâre not coming.â
Kaelricâs smile faded. He stepped closer to her, face-to-face.
Kaelric (softly):
âDo you really not trust me?
Iâm not doing this just for you.
Liraâs my friend too.
Sheâs not just your cousin. Sheâs a student of Valethir.â
(Beat)
Kaelric (gently):
âPlease. For Lira.â
Dunira:
âIf anything goes wrong⦠itâs not my responsibility.â
Kaelric (smirking):
âDone.â

ð«ï¸ Scene at â Veilpond
Kaelric (looking around):
âWow⦠itâs been so long since I last travel through Veilpond.â
Dunira stood still, gazing into the pond.
Her reflection stared back at her â nothing unusual. No vision. No glow.
Myna slipped her tiny fingers into Duniraâs left hand.
Kaelric gently held her right.
A sudden shiver ran down Kaelricâs spine. Her hand felt soft and familiar.
He smiled faintly and looked ahead, at the pondâs shifting mist.
Together, the three of them stepped into the Veilpond.
And reappeared in ..ð²â Lunareth Outskirts, Mistbank Forest
Kaelric (quietly):
âThis is where Lira disappeared.â
Crestbore Division had sealed off the area with rune-marked tape.
The trio carefully crossed the boundary.
The ground was wet with light water. Mist hung between thick trees.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
They called out â softly at first, then louder:
All three (calling):
âLira⦠Lira!â
As they ventured deeper, the fog grew denser.
Trees clustered tighter together. The water rose past their ankles.
Myna (pointing):
âIâll check the right side. Meet me back here.â
She darted off.
Kaelric conjured a small flame in his hand, illuminating the path.
He guided Dunira through the left.
He watched her carefully â her face wasnât frightened, but focused.
She was scanning the ground, the branches, every detail â searching for a clue.
The fireâs soft orange glow fell on her, making her look like a piece of the sun.
Kaelric swallowed hard. To him, she looked like the most beautiful thing heâd ever seen.
Kaelric (soft):
âIâm sorry.â
Dunira (not looking):
âLeave it.â
Kaelric:
âI shouldnât have said what I did.
I didnât mean it.
I just didnât want you facing things alone.
I didnât want you to get hurt.
I care about yââ
Dunira (suddenly):
âI knew it.â
Kaelric (startled):
âKnew whatâ¦?â
Dunira was staring ahead.
A shimmering green lake lay in the heart of the forest.
Its edges were laced with strange black webs, almost like fog.
She stepped closer and touched them.
They felt cold. Misty. Not quite solid.
Kaelric:
âWhat is that?â
Dunira (barely breathing):
âI donât know.
But Iâve seen this place before.
Itâs the one from my dream.â
She pointed to the center of the lake.
Dunira:
âI saw students here⦠Lira was with them.
And there was a dark figure. Shadowy. With red eyes.
This is it, Kaelric. This is the place.â
Kaelric:
âOkay. Okay. So⦠what do we do now?â
Duniraâs gaze drifted beyond him. Something shimmered at the base of an ancient tree nearby â barely visible in the grass. A pendantâ¦
She stepped closer, crouched, and gently lifted it from the roots. It was delicate, silver, old. On its back, a single initial was etched:
V
She turned, eyes wide, holding it out to Kaelric.
Dunira:
âLook at this. It was hidden under the tree.â
Kaelric leaned in, squinting.
Kaelric:
âV...? Waitâ Iâve seen Vespara wear a pendant like this. The exact shape.â
He looked at Dunira, tension rising in his tone.
âDo you think⦠this belongs to her?â
Suddenly, a whisper brushed Duniraâs ear.
> âDuniraâ¦â
She turned â but before she could react, they heard horns blaring in the distance.
The Crestbore Division was approaching.
Kaelric:
âRun!â
They fled.
---
Meanwhile..
Crestbore Officer:
âCommander! Weâve got movement in the woods!â
Commander Sirevan:
âSearch the entire forest. Now.â

SCENE SHIFTED
(dunira and kaelric finding a way out)
Just as they turned to run, a beam of strange light broke through the mist.
Dunira (pointing):
âKaelric⦠that tree. Itâs not like the others.â
They stopped.
In front of them stood a tall, glowing tree, its bark shimmering like crystal.
Pulsing, humming softly. Alive. Magical.
Kaelric (whispering):
âItâs⦠beautiful.
It might be like the Veilpond â a portal.â
Dunira (nodding):
âMaybe we can use it. We can escape through there before they reach us.â
But just as she stepped closer, her hand outstretchedâ
She stopped.
Dunira (hesitant):
âNo⦠we canât.â
Kaelric:
âWhat? Why not?â
Dunira:
âWe donât know where it leads.
And Myna⦠we donât know where she is.
We canât leave her behind.â
Kaelric (softly):
âRight.â
They backed away from the tree and veered in a different direction.
Kaelric and Dunira ran hard, breath sharp, boots sloshing through thick mud and water.
The mist twisted around them, distorting shapes and sounds.
Kaelric (panting):
âTheyâre close. I can hear themââ
A beam of silver-blue light swept behind them â a Crestbore search rune, scanning the forest.
Dunira (whispers):
âTheyâve activated rune-lights. We need to hide.â
They turned toward a ridge to duck behind â but three cloaked officers were already there, silver-trimmed uniforms gleaming faintly in the mist.
Crestbore Officer:
âDonât move!â
Dunira froze. Kaelric stepped protectively in front of her.
Another squad flanked them from behind, rune-rods drawn and glowing.
Kaelric (low):
âWeâre surroundedâ¦â
Crestbore Leader:
âBy order of Crestbore Division, you're trespassing in a restricted zone. Identify yourselves.â
Dunira (quietly):
âWe were⦠looking for someone.â
The runes glowed, confirming the truth.
Without another word, floating shackles â etched with soft sigils â clasped around their wrists. Kaelric sighed. Dunira didnât resist.
Kaelric (softly):
âWeâll explain everything. Donât worry.â
In a flash of rune-light, they vanished from the forest...
...and reappeared in the cold chamber of the Crestbore watchtower, soaked and silent.
Their clothes dripped. Their boots left trails.
The Crestbore officers surrounded them, voices sharp as they demanded their names.
After confirming their identities, the officers activated communication crystals and called their parents.
Within minutes, the tense waiting began â until finally,
Kaelricâs father, Karlos, arrived first.
Karlos (furious):
âWhat were you doing there?!â
He raised his cane to strike Kaelric, butâ
Dunira (stepping forward):
âIt wasnât him.
I took him with me.â
Karlos (cold):
âYou promised you wouldnât see him again. And now this?â
Kaelric:
âWhat?! You said that to her?!â
Karlos:
âSilence! You donât know what she is. Her blood is cursed. Stay away from her, Kael.â
Kaelric (calm but firm):
âEnough, Father.
Sheâs normal. Just like us.â
Dunira (soft but strong):
âNo. Iâm not normal.
But Iâm rare, Mr. Karlos.
I survived.
And I proved that even mixed clans can belong in Auralis.â
Commander Sirevan watched her with interest.
Commander Sirevan:
âThis isnât your home, Mr. Karlos.
Stop shouting.â
He turned to the teens.
Sirevan:
âTell me honestly â what were you doing there?â
Dunira:
âLira is my cousin.
We went to search for her.â
Sirevan: (took a pause)
âYou look braveâ¦
âBut bravery without purpose is a path to ruin.â
Dunira looked at Sirevan.
Those words struck her â not as a threat, but as a lesson.
Duniraâs parents arrived.
Navalyn (rushing in):
âDunira! Are you alright?â
Dunira (softly):
âIâm fine, Mother.â
Thalen (to the officers):
âThank you. You found them just in time⦠who knows what couldâve happened.â
Commander Sirevan stood silently, his arms folded.
Sirevan:
âKeep a close watch on your children.â
He looked from Thalen to Navalyn.
Sirevan:
âAnd youâre related to Lira?â
Thalen:
âYes. My wife is her aunt. She belongs to lunareth !
Sirevan glanced at Dunira, unreadable.
Then he said,
âDonât let something like this happen again.â
And with that, he turned and walked away.
A lady officer approached navalyn
Valarie (softly):
âYour daughter is⦠rare.
Keep her protected.
Children born of mixed clans rarely survive.
But somehow⦠she did.â
Karlos (muttering):
âThereâs no guarantee the next generation will.
Weâre leaving.â
He walked away.
Kaelric (smiling):
âHello, Mr. Thalen, Mrs. Navalyn.â
Navalyn (laughing):
âYouâve become even more handsome, Kaelric.â
Thalen:
âItâs been a long timeâ¦
But tell me â how did you two even manage to sneak out?
Dunira was in her room all day.â
Kaelric looked down, blushing.
Kaelric:
âUhh⦠Fatherâs waiting.
Iâll go now.
Bye, Uncle. Bye, Dunira.â
He left quickly.
Thalen (to Dunira):
âSo? Are you going to tell me how you got out?â
Dunira didnât reply. She walked away.
Navalyn covered her smile with her hand.
Navalyn:
âForgot your own days, did you?â
Thalen (confused):
âHuh? Waitâ
He climbed the balcony?!â

ð¡ Scene changesâ Sirevan's Chamber
Commander Sirevan sat at his desk, staring out the window.
He activated a communication crystal and spoke softly.
Sirevan:
âAny update?â
Unknown Voice (replying):
âSheâs beginning to acknowledge her power.
Sheâs not fully aware yetâ¦
But I can feel it rising.â
Sirevan:
âUnderstood.â
The crystal dimmed.
Sirevan turned back to the window, watching Duniraâs family disappear into the distance.
> Something had begun.
And it wouldnât stop now.
Will be continued!!! ð¨
