31. He's here.

Mateo stood over Jess as he placed a kiss on her forehead. "I'm so proud of you." He stated lowly as she closed her eyes.

They had taken Kaiden to do some testing and his mother had just left, leaving just the two of them in the room that she got checked into. She was exhausted, "and you did it without an epidural or any medicine." He smiled as he looked at her.

She opened her eyes making eye contact with him, a small smile matching his. "I could have did the water birth." She slightly whined.

"You could've of, but Kaiden said he wanted to come out in the car with his momma delivering him. Besides we didn't think he was going to come that quick based off of what the midwife said."

Jessica nodded in agreement as she grabbed his hand. "Thank you."

"No, thank you." He emphasized. "You brought a new life into this world and did it like a G."

Jessica laughed lightly as tiredness truly began to take over her body. She could use a nap. Just as the thought popped in her head the nurse came in with Kaiden.

Both of their heads quickly looking her way. "I believe baby boy is hungry and I recalled you saying you wanted to breastfeed." The nurse smiled.

Jessica nodded as she let out a yawn as the nurse handed Kaiden to her, a small cry coming from his mouth that Jessica found so cute.

"A lactation specialist will be around shortly to help or answer any questions. Did you need anything?" Jessica shook her head no as the nurse checked her vitals and everything before leaving the room.

Jessica whipped out her boob as she brought Kaiden to it, he didn't latch as easy as she thought he would but it didn't take forever either. Once he was latched on and she looked over at Mateo. "Welp, you've literally saw every one of my intimate parts today."

Mateo laughed as he took a seat nearby, "and I appreciate the female body in a whole new light now."

Jessica winked, "glad I could do that for you." Mateo smiled as his phone went off, his team would be back later and Jose was asking if the baby was born. He quickly replied with a yeah as he asked if they could stop by tomorrow. He looked up at Jessica who was infatuated with Kaiden. He smiled, he couldn't wait to get his hands on Kaiden once she finished feeding him. "Is it okay if Jose stops by tomorrow to see Kaiden?"

Jessica looked up at him, "of course." Kaiden had finished feeding as Jessica questioned Mateo, "you want to burp him?"

Mateo jumped up to his feet, of course he wanted to. Everything about this just felt right.

Jessica and Mateo has made it through their first night as parents, in the hospital that is. They would be leaving later that day as long as everything checked out okay with Kaiden and Mateo was thankful for that because the couch was highly uncomfortable to sleep on.

Mateo yawned as he moved to lean up. Jessica was still sleeping as Kaiden was beside her in a bassinet. He placed a kiss on both of their foreheads before deciding to head down to get some coffee and to see if they had anything he would want to eat.

While doing that Jose texted him and let him know he would be up there in the next hour. Mateo figured Jess would be up by then and sent a quick okay.

He grabbed a coffee and bagel and was headed back to the room before he was stopped by a fan. Meanwhile in the room Jessica got up to pee, slightly nervous. No one had told her that the first pee after birth would feel like hell, and she was just hoping this one wouldn't.

After she used the bathroom she quickly went back to the room startled as she saw Xavier standing in there. Panic quickly set in. "What the hell are you doing here?"

He looked over at her with a smile. "I was stopping by to see the baby. I heard you had him." She quickly made her way over to Kaiden as if to block him. Last she checked Xavier and Mateo weren't cool. "Does Mateo know you're here?"

Xavier brought his eyebrows in, "Jessica relax. I wouldn't do anything to harm you or him. Damn."

Jessica felt unsettled. She knew Mateo was still here because of where her car keys sat and he would have at least let her know if he was leaving the hospital. "Well I don't want you in here until Mateo is in here. Honestly don't want you in here at all. Who told you my room number?" Jessica had so many questions.

Xavier had knew she had the baby because Lex had posted she was a God mommy on her story, her room number he had got from Jose. Before Xavier could answer any of her questions however Mateo was walking in the room. He saw Xavier and then he saw how uncomfortable Jessica looked and protective mode just came over him.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" He questioned. Xavier turned looking at Mateo as a look of sincerity plastered across his face. "Mateo man, we've been through too much to have let this girl come between us. I wanted to talk to you, Jose told me you had your son and told me where you were so I just wanted to stop by and check to make sure everything was good. See if you needed anything."

Jessica took a seat on the bed, feeling comfortable enough to now as she watched the exchange between the two. "Nahh, we good. You can go. Don't ever pop up around my son and Jessica again."

Xavier scrunched his eyes brows together. "Word man?" Mateo didn't say anything as he gave him a look that let him that he was serious. "Well can you step out and have a word with me?" Xavier questioned. He truly missed Mateo's friendship and never imagined that their friendship would come to an end like this.

Mateo looked over at Jessica, "you good?" She nodded just as Kaiden started moving around indicating he was about to wake up.

Mateo looked back at Xavier as he motioned for the door. As soon as they were outside of it Xavier started his spill, "man Mateo. What happened to us?"

Mateo laughed and looked at him like he was stupid as he took a sip of his coffee. "You. Remember how you didn't keep  it a buck with me? Remember how you knew about Sofia? Remember how fake you are? And it doesn't help that you've been coming at Jessica stupid the whole time."

Xavier smacked his teeth, "man Mateo, we have to move past that. I've apologized for not telling you and I apologize again. But Sofia isn't that girl anymore and I damn sure didn't think you would take it like that. You know she a good ass girl. Like c'mon shawty went on Wendy Williams and defended your name."

Mateo didn't watch the interview so he didn't know that, but he definitely hadn't gotten any backlash in regards to her interview. But that didn't matter to him. "It was shady as fuck to not let me make that decision myself. It was fake as fuck to leave that out when introducing me to her. But this isn't even about her anymore. This is about the shit that you did. And let's not forget the bullshit you tried to pull with Jessica."

"Man I feel like she's what caused all this turmoil."

Mateo shook his head, "nahh, nahh. She don't have shit to do with what happened between us. Your shady ass ways have nothing to do with her."

Xavier smacked his teeth, before he could say anything Jose walked up all smiles. "What's up! What's up!" He let out as he placed a hand on Mateo and Xavier. He had no idea the two weren't cool as of lately.

"You a daddy now boy!" He stated with a big smile towards Mateo.

Mateo nodded before removing his eyes from Jose and placing them back on Xavier. "Until you can man up and own the fact that the reason we aren't cool has everything to do with you and no one else don't hit my line or pop up at places you know I'll be. And you damn sure better not try no shit with Jess."

Jose looked between the two questioning what he just walked into. "Oh what that's your girl now?" Xavier questioned with a look of disgust.

"If she is or if she isn't doesn't really fucking matter because she's the mother of my child at the end of day. There's nothing more for us to talk about." Mateo then placed his attention on Jose. "And don't ever tell him shit in regards to me and what's going on with me, I know you didn't know we weren't cool so I'm not holding this shit against you but you know now." With that Mateo turned around to head back into the room, he stopped momentarily to turn and look at Jose, "and come in here when you ready to see little man."

Jose nodded before turning to Xavier and giving him a 'what the fuck' look.

Jessica had finally been released from the hospital and they were now in the car headed back to her place. She sat in the backseat with the baby as Mateo drove. "I need to get some clothes and shit from my place, so I'm going to drop you two off and then head to my place is that okay?" It was ultimately her car he was driving so that was mainly why he was asking for her permission. She nodded. "Yeah. Thanks for staying with me."

"Thanks? You didn't make this baby yourself so you aren't going to take care of him by yourself. I know the first few weeks are an adjustment so we'll adjust together."

Jessica smiled lightly, this was a different Mateo. But she liked it. She was grateful he was wanting to be so active. She looked out the window as her thoughts started taking over. "Why doesn't Xavier like me?" She questioned as she looked at him through the rear view mirror. He caught eyes with her in it as he shrugged. "Who knows, who cares."

She didn't care that he didn't like her, but it's like he did things to sabotage her and that's what she didn't like. She let it go and Mateo pulled up in front of the townhome. He grabbed Mateo and his baby bag as Jessica grabbed her bag of clothes and got the key out to unlock the door.

After helping them get situated and letting Jessica shower before he left he made his way to his house. He pulled up seeing Sofia's car in the driveway, it wasn't a surprise because she was always at the house when he got back.

He got out the car, grabbing his suitcase from the trunk before he headed inside.  He unlocked the walked in, looking around not seeing her as he walked in but made his way up the stairs to his bedroom. His eyes widened when he walked in shit was everywhere. Then he saw suitcases and a couple of boxes as Sofia walked out from their closet. She jumped slightly as the sight of him. "Oh hey!" She said as she brought her hand to her chest.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." He let out as continued looking around the room. It looked like she was finally getting ready to move out. "You found a place?" He questioned.

She nodded with a smile. "Yeah. And I heard Jessica had the baby congratulations," she smiled real wide as she sat down some of the clothes in her hand. "Thank you." Mateo let out as he watched her move.

"But I was thinking since you'll be on paternity leave I was wondering if you could make some time one of those days to come with me to look at the place I like, since you'll be paying for it and all which I hope is still on the table." She stated with seriousness.

Mateo nodded. "Yeah we can do that. But you know I'm only paying up to a year right?" She nodded, "Yeah that gives me plenty of time." She gave a small smile.

Her demeanor and upbeat attitude was throwing him off compared to the last time he saw her but he wasn't complaining. "Okay." He easily stated as he grabbed some clothes to take him with him as he headed towards the bathroom to shower.

Once he got out and was changed the room wasn't looking like a complete tornado like when he first walked in. He grabbed a duffle bag as he prepared to pack some clothes to stay at Jessica's, but stopped deciding to empty his suitcase first since there were things in there that he would need.

Sofia walked back into the room as he was clearing his suitcase out. "Want me to wash this stuff for you?" She asked as he put clothes in the dirty laundry. "Nahh, it's cool I can do it." She shook her head, "I can do it. I got it."

He looked at her suspiciously, though she did his laundry all the time when they were together after they broke up she wouldn't touch the shit so he was confused on why she was so adamant about doing it now, but he didn't push it as she grabbed the basket of dirty clothes and walked out the room.

Mateo went to the closet pulling out chill outfits that consisted of joggers, sweatpants, and shorts with simple T's. He started packing his bag as Sofia walked back in.

"Going somewhere again?" She asked as she took a seat across the bed from him. He looked up at her as he continued what he was doing. "Just to Jessica's to help with the baby."

"Oh." She said with a look of surprise and slight disappointment. "I'm sure that'll help her a lot." Mateo nodded, "teamwork makes the dream work."

"Well I'll let you finish, just let me know what day you want to go look at the place so I can let the person know." She got off the bed, waiting for him to respond before she walked out.

"Will do." He said with ease as Sofia pranced our the room. She was eerie calm to him, almost like something was up.
