34. Caught.

"Shit." Mateo let out as he drove, remembering he left his EarPods at his house. He'd been driving all of ten minutes and was trying to debate whether or not it was worth it to turn around. But he knew music pumped him up even more when it came to working out.

Mateo sighed, annoyed that he forgot them as he made a U-turn at the next light. Within another ten minutes he pulled up back to the house seeing that Sofia's friend was still at the house. He left his car running as he quickly ran up the stairs to the door, he realized he also left his house keys in the car as he cursed himself not understanding why he was forgetting simple shit. He attempted to open the door anyways. Seeing that it was still unlocked. He walked in as complete shock took over him.

On his couch sat Sofia and Kate tonguing each other down as a man stood recording. "What the fuck is this?" He questioned as anger rose up in him. Sofia quickly jumped back, her eyes dilated almost looking like she wasn't really there. She stood up with nothing but her bra and panties on, a very attractive matching set.

"Mateo." She let out lowly as she kind of backed up. "Get the fuck out!" He yelled. Kate and the camera guy just stood there for a second. "Are y'all fucking deaf? I said get the fuck out!" He yelled again. This time they started moving. The man began packing up his camera equipment and Kate started to put on her clothes as Sofia sat on the couch with her hands on her head.

Once they left Mateo still stood in the same spot that he was in when he entered. His eyes still on Sofia who wouldn't look at him he was pissed that she would pull that bullshit in his house. "Sofia." He let out.

"I'm sorry." She stated looking up as tears started to cloud her eyes. "I'm so sorry." She cried out. "It was wrong and I didn't know what to do cause I need money. And a lot and quick. I wasn't getting clients to style and I can't start at these minimum wage jobs." She sobbed. "Mateo I am so sorry."

Mateo felt slightly bad for her as he sighed going to sit on the couch beside her. She threw her body into his as she cried on his shoulder. He wrapped an arm around her feeling slightly weird since it had been so long since he touched her. "Calm down Sofia." He hated to see anyone cry this hard.

He was still pissed but he couldn't kick her while she was down. She looked up, her eyes bloodshed red and still looking slightly dilated. "Did you take something?" He questioned. She nodded as she sniffled. "I'm so sorry!" She started again as tears poured. "But I'm so happy you came back through that door because I didn't really want to do it."

"Why the fuck were you ever going to do it?" He questioned as his anger rose.

"I told you!" She cried out. Mateo shook his head as he moved his arm from behind her and brought his hands together. "No, you had plenty of other options. You could have applied for some reality TV shows, worked with your cousin, something. The way you quickly chose this is questionable and to do it in my house? That's disrespectful as fuck. Are you trying to tarnish my name? Are you still on that bullshit?"

Sofia quickly shook her head no. "No Mateo I'm not it's just that having your name —" Mateo didn't even want to hear whatever she was about to say. "Just go put some clothes on! This shit is ridiculous."

Sofia nodded but still sat there for a moment. "Mateo." He sighed, "what Sofia?"

She swallowed hard, "I'm really sorry." He didn't say anything and she leaned forward placing a kiss on his cheek, and then another closer to his mouth. Mateo stood up knowing whatever drugs she took were getting her hot. "Sofia go put some fucking clothes on."

She listened this time as she stood up grabbing her clothes that were on the living room floor. Her phone went off on the table as X's name popped up. Mateo saw it first. He grabbed her phone as she was too focused on putting her clothes on to realize it was her phone. He tried his luck with her old lock code and was surprised it worked. He quickly went to the message opening it.

Ran into a producer, their doing a reality show and I dropped your name cause I know you're still looking for work! Lmk if he reaches out to you.

Mateo exited the message, he couldn't even be mad about what X did, cause it was better than the shit Sofia was coming up with on her own. He set her phone back down in the table.

Mateo sighed before he spoke, "Sofia I need you to see if you can stay with your cousin for a while. I don't trust you by yourself in my house anymore."

Sofia scrunched her eyebrows up, "no Mateo. I know I made a big mistake but you have to understand —"

"There's nothing to understand, I need you to go. Sorry." With that he made his way upstairs grabbing his EarPods, knowing he was about to let all his anger out in the gym.

Jessica was headed home after leaving the grocery store. She decided to give her sister a call to see what had went on between her and Xavier.

To her surprise, her sister answered pretty quickly. "Wassup sissy?" Jazmin answered excitedly.

"Hey!" Jessica smiled. "How are you? What are you up to?"

"I'm good, just sitting here watching TV. You?" Jessica checked her blind spot before getting over, "heading home, just came from grocery shopping. Guess who I ran into?"

This spiked Jazmin's interest. Her and Jessica typically didn't know the same people. "Who?"

"Xavier." Jazmin didn't understand what she was getting at. "Xavier who?"

"NFL player." Now Jazmin was really confused she had never told Jessica about her and Xavier. "He told me you two dated." Jessica continued. Jazmin laughed, "he just randomly came up to you and said that? Or were you trying to flirt with the nigga and he realized that we look too much alike?"

"Whoa, hell no. My baby daddy is his friend. So I've known him and we've never got along and he finally told me why. Cause I remind him so much of you, and apparently you broke his little heart."

Jazmin started laughing again, "girllll fuck him."

"So what happened between you two?" Jessica questioned.

"He wasn't supposed to be nothing more than a fuck buddy and then this nigga want to catch feelings. And I'm like okay cool, cause I was feeling him a little more too. But this nigga was trying to have his cake and eat it too. Didn't want me dealing with nobody else but still had bitches hitting his phone. And you know me sis, I do me, period. So his dumbass left his phone unlocked after responding to one of the girls and I read that shit and he had clearly just fucked her. I was pissed, but I played shit cool just a reminder of why if I don't commit to shit. So I did me and fucked the next nigga that I wanted to and he found out and got all in his feelings. And I blocked the nigga. I don't have time for the bullshit."

Jessica busted out laughing, her sister was always so ruthless. It was crazy to her. "Well then; he's treated me like shit because of you."

"Girl don't have me coming there and fucking that nigga up cause I will. You ain't do shit to his butt hurt ass. He need to get over it, that shit was like two years ago."

"He clearly still be thinking about you."

"Of course he do, what nigga don't? I'm like that Jess." Jessica laughed, this talk just further reminded her that Xavier wasn't shit. "Well I just wanted to see what it was between you two. Don't be out here still breaking niggas hearts."

"I tell niggas from jump what it is, so I'm not breaking no hearts. They breaking their own." Jessica shook her head. "At what point are you going to settle down Jaz?"

"When I meet a nigga worth settling down for. But off that! Send me pictures of my nephew. Me and Jackie are planning a trip to come there to meet him so once we get closer to figuring out a date I'll tell you."

"Yay! Yes definitely let me know! I'll be looking forward to that!" It'd been a long time since she had seen her sisters.

"Have you talked to mom?" Jazmin asked. "Nope, called her and left a message letting her know I had Kaiden and nothing."

Jazmin sighed, "she needs to grow up. At some point she's going to have to realize that it's her. She's the reason her kids and family don't talk to her. But off that! I'll definitely be letting you know when we come! But I'm about to get back to these shows. Love you sissy!"

"Love you too!" Jessica let out before ending the call. She was down the street from the house but decided to make a stop to pick up something quick to eat. She couldn't wait to tell Mateo and Alexis about this newfound information.
