Sofia let out a breath as the had finished up filming the last shoot for the day, she was on this particular show as a friend until baseball wives started filming. And with her being a friend on the show of course she had to bring some type of drama.
She wasn't a fan of having to create drama but it was bringing in a check. She was happy she was free to finally go, it had been a month since she first got the gig and she had finally seen some money out of it so she was meeting up with Xavier after this.
She made her way to her car as she texted him letting him know she was headed to the restaurant that the two agreed on. He ultimately ended up making it there before her as she entered the restaurant and was escorted to the table that he was at.
She smiled as she saw him as he stood up to give her a hug. His cologne lingered as the two sat down. They ordered food and drinks and then caught up on each other's lives as she told him about filming and everything that had taken place as well as her being offered a nice little modeling gig for one of the girls clothing line, "everything is really on the up and up for me. It's crazy because I really feel like I don't deserve it." She let out.
Xavier furrowed his eyebrows as he took a drink of his wine. "Why you feel like you don't deserve it? You worked for it."
"I guess because I was just down so bad like a month ago, and just everything with Mateo." She shook her head, looking back on it she knew she did some sheisty ass shit.
X shook his head, "it's the past, let it stay there. You just have to do better from here on out. But you have to be prepared for when someone pulls that shit out though, as you get out there more people are definitely going to bring some of that shit up. They love to dig into the past."
She knew he was right but that wasn't even something she wanted to think about right now. She nodded in understanding. "Well if you talk to Mateo can you tell him I'm sorry, like really sorry."
X sighed, "you better off telling him yourself. We haven't talked in over a month." Sofia hated to hear that their friendship went to shit, especially considering how close they used to be.
She placed her hand on top of his. "I'm sorry to hear that." Xavier waved it off, "it's all good, it is what it is. It's life." He said as he picked up his glass of wine finishing it. He had bought a bottle, so there was plenty more.
"Just know I'll always be here." She let out with her eyes on his. X laughed lightly, "I know." The two ate and finished the bottle of wine before leaving.
Sofia was tipsy by the time they left and Xavier could easily tell that Sofia was still growing a liking for him. No matter how wrong Mateo might have felt like Xavier was with the way he moved, he would never be that wrong and mess with Sofia.
He walked her to her car as she turned to hug him, the hug lingering longer than it should have, he pulled away as Sofia grabbed his hand. "Look Sof, I respect you and all that. You're a beautiful woman but we can't go down that road. You dated Mateo and you know that."
She dropped his hand. "I know." She let out, looking slightly embarrassed. "But thanks for the dinner." He continued, "I just think we need to take a step back a little bit." She nodded in understanding as Xavier walked to his car.
She sighed as she got in hers, she wouldn't call this a lost. Everything was still looking up, the only thing that wasn't was her love life. "This a time to fall in love with you." Sofia spoke aloud to herself as she started her car and made her way to her apartment.
Xavier sat in his car as he texted back one of the many girls he was entertaining. Nothing had changed in life aside from Mateo no longer being in it, he'd been hanging out with some of his teammates more and even talked to Jose still so it wasn't like he was hurting for friends, and he had a plethora of women to choose from.
He smiled as one of the girls texted back asking him to come through. All was well for him, and no one would take that away.

Jessica sat on her laptop filling out job applications to nearby hospitals. She enjoyed every second she spent with Kaiden but she was ready to get back to work, she felt good knowing that Mateo's mother would be caring for him while her and Mateo worked, there was no one she trusted more.
Though Mateo had the means, and she had the support to be a stay at mom it just wasn't something she wanted to do. Mateo was in the living room entertaining Kaiden as she did this, he still wasn't back in the house due to them wanting to take it slow. However over the time the two had grown a lot closer and he was spending the night a lot.
Jessica sighed, "I hate filling out job applications." She whined. "This is for the birds and why ask for my resume if I still have to fill out the information that's on my resume?"
Mateo laughed, "it's just part of the process, I already told you that you don't even have to do this."
She looked over at him, "I love that you want to be a provider babe, but I need to have my own, plus I need to get out this house. Staying cooped up in this house all day drives me crazy."
"I hear you!" He said before putting his focus on the TV. She focused back on finishing the application, she put one in and saved the other she would have to come back to that one it was so many questions.
She closed her laptop as she pulled her phone out scrolling through social media, Xavier popped up on her explore page causing her next question. "Have you talked to Xavier?"
Mateo looked over at her as he shook his head no. "Why?" She shrugged her shoulders, "no particular reason he just popped up on my explore page so I was curious. Do you plan on talking to him?"
Mateo shrugged his shoulders, "no, not really. It's been a lot of bullshit this past year so I think that ship has sailed for me. I know you not a fan of him anyways."
That much was true, but she didn't want him to feel like he shouldn't be cool with him because of her, because they were friends before she ever came in the picture. "Yeah, but don't base it off of me. You two had a friendship long before I came in the picture."
"I'm not basing it off of you but are you telling me I should reach out to him?" She quickly shook her head no, "no, but I'm saying I don't want you to not be friends with him because of me; which you just stated you weren't doing so we're good."
Mateo laughed before looking down at a smiling, sleepy Kaiden as his thoughts went to X. There was no way their friendship would get back to where they started and he was okay with that, sometimes you outgrew friendships just like you could outgrow a relationship.
Jessica spent a little bit more time scrolling through Instagram before she exited it out and locked her phone. She studied Mateo before she got up and went to sit beside him, he was so handsome to her. She smiled at the thought of him being all hers as well as the progress they were making.
Once she was seated he pulled her into him as she rested her head on his shoulder, looking at whatever he had playing on the TV. "What is this?" She questioned, for once it wasn't the sports channels.
He shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, I didn't even turn the TV when I turned it on. Some show about a lady with a lot of babies. You want a lot of babies?" He questioned, they hadn't talked about having more kids.
"Mm, I wouldn't say I want a lot of kids I do want at least one more though." Mateo could do one more, he honestly wouldn't mind having four more. With him being an only child he knew that if he could have more than one he would, be at least wanted Kaiden to have somebody to grow up with, to be able to talk to.
"You want to get started on that one more right now or?" Jessica quickly lifted her head up as she looked at him like he was crazy, she quickly caught the smile on his face letting her know he wasn't serious.
"No more babies until I hear wedding bells." She demanded.
Mateo nodded as he pulled out his phone and typed in wedding bells. He clicked on the first video that had the sound and clicked play as Jessica busted out laughing. "Oh you got jokes."
"You said it!" Mateo smiled as he stopped the video, "but nahh, I don't want anymore babies until marriage either." He paused, "until we're married I should say."
Jessica smiled, it was clear they both saw long term with one another. Who would have thought a drunk mishap would create something so beautiful.
Jessica looked into eyes as her emotions overwhelmed her, "I love you." She spoke for the first time. Mateo didn't even hesitate to say it back, "I love you too."
This love had God's name written all over it, they could only go up from here.
