Alexis sat wide eyed on the couch, she knew Jessica and she knew she was going to keep the baby she didn't even have it in her to kill a bug. "How are you feeling about it?"
Jessica sighed, "I don't know. It's definitely not how I imagined things, I don't want this baby, not with him. Like if this was with Dwayne okay, but it's a stranger and I just don't know Alexis. You know I'm keeping it but how am I going to deal with all of this." A tear slipped as she quickly wiped it.
Lex got up hugging her, "it's going to be okay. We're going to figure this out and everything is going to work out. I promise." Jessica wiped her eyes as tears fell, "I know." Alexis moved, going to sit back where she was as Jessica quickly gathered herself.
"Are you going to tell him?" Alexis questioned after a few moments in silence, "Mateo, that is."
Jessica threw her hands up, she knew he deserved to know. Shit, and she didn't want to do this by herself either. "I mean, I want to but I don't even have a way to contact him. And what am I going to say. 'Hey remember me? Well yeah I'm pregnant now and I'm pretty sure you're the father." Alexis started laughing, "sounds good to me."
Jessica rolled her eyes, as Alexis started talking again "you know I'm talking to Xavier and they're friends. Ooo," she let out as a thought came to mind. She pulled out her phone going to Xavier's Instagram, she scrolled until she came across a picture of the two clicking on the tag. She smiled looking at Jessica. "I found his Instagram."
Jessica got up getting closer to her, she was interested she couldn't fake like she wasn't. She remembered him looking good as hell that night but she wondered if he still looked that good to her or if it was the drinks. She knew that should be the last thing on her mind with her being with Dwayne but she couldn't help it. Alexis clicked on the page as they both looked on, "damn he got a lot of followers," Alexis let out, her eyes slightly widened. "Shit Jess, he's a professional baseball player, bitch he making millions. That's the highest paid sport."
"You're lying," Jessica let out as she snatched her phone out her hand. But sure enough there it was, millions of followers, crazy amount of likes and a pictures of him in his uniform, looking just as good as before. She clicked on a picture that was up close. "I had no idea. He never even mentioned it."
"I mean that's not just something regular people do, do you go around randomly saying 'I'm a surgical technican?' Cause I damn sure don't go around just telling people my occupation when they haven't asked, and if I made a lot of money I wouldn't be quick too either." Alexis took her phone back out of Jessica's hand as she continued to scroll on her page, "uh oh, he also has a girlfriend. This was posted two months ago. Seeing as how he didn't take it down I would think they were still together." Jessica looked at the picture, the girl was pretty, very pretty, of Hispanic descent just like him. "Click on her page."
Alexis did just that as they saw her most recent picture, it was her and Mateo. She clicked on it, "two days ago. They are definitely still together." This just made things all the more worse. But in a sense it put both of them in the same situation, she had a man and he had a girl. Jessica let out a sigh, "this is crazy Lex, what the fuck have I gotten myself into."
Alexis sighed too as she continued scrolling through his girlfriend's page. "What have you two gotten yourself into, you didn't do this yourself. It takes two to tango. You need to tell him." Jessica grabbed one of her pillows on her couch squeezing it into her body. "But how?"
"DM him." Alexis shifted to look at Jessica, while Jessica looked at her like she was crazy. "What? No. That's crazy. DM him and tell him I'm pregnant? Are you serious?"
Alexis rolled her eyes as she locked her phone, "I didn't say all that. But hit him up and tell him you need to talk to him about something serious. He may or may not see it, but it's worth a shot if he responses then boom. If not plan b, I'm going to San Diego and his birthday is that week and X mentioned something for his birthday and then I can slip a bug in his ear or your number to him, something. You have to try and contact him though."
"What about his girlfriend?" She felt bad knowing she slept with someone else's man, that was never her thing.
"Girl what about her? He didn't mention her when he was shooting his kids in you. That's not for you to worry about, you worry about you and yours. He just needs to know he has a child on the way. So DM him, now."
Jessica sat there for a moment, she couldn't believe this shit was happening. "Go get your phone, because you're doing this before I go." She huffed as she put the pillow down and got up to go grab her phone off the charger. "What's his Instagram?" She asked as she walked back towards the living room.
Alexis called it out to her as she typed it, once again coming face to face with his page. She took a seat back on the couch as Alexis scooted closer to her. She got to the DM staring at the space for her to type. "Jessica c'mon."
She gave Alexis the evil eye, "give me a second, damn. Who wants to tell someone their pregnant through social media because they don't have their number? This shit is saddening." Alexis laughed thinking about it, "I feel it. But trust me, you are not the first person to have a one night stand and get pregnant. At least you can find the nigga, there are plenty who can't."
Jessica knew the statement was supposed to be consoling in Alexis' own weird way but it wasn't. She started typing the message out to him as Alexis looked over her shoulder. She moved her phone turning it so that Alexis couldn't see what she was typing. Alexis smacked her teeth, "come on. Let me see what you're going to say."
"I'm telling him who I am and that if possible I need us to talk. That simple." And that's simply what she put. "It's sent." She showed Alexis, "good," Alexis let out. "Let me know if he responses. I'm going to head home and shower and sleep now." Jessica nodded her head, that's exactly what she needed to do. She looked at the time seeing it was now almost 10am. She was about to sleep the day away.

"Good pitch!" Derek, one of Mateo's teammates yelled out. Mateo was a pitcher and worked hard everyday to be better at it. It was the end of their season so things were far less intense seeing as how they didn't make playoffs this year, they were finishing up practice but he wanted to throw one more round.
He finished up, listening to what his coach had to say to the team as a whole before heading to the locker room to change, he would shower when he got home today opposed to there since he didn't have much going on today. He grabbed up all his stuff checking his phone for any missed calls or text and of course he had one from his girlfriend, Sofia. They had made up like he knew they would and were back together and good. He held off on calling her back knowing she more than likely didn't really want anything.
He threw his bag in his backseat and went and sat in the driver's seat of his car scrolling on his phone. This was something he always did after practice it was like a little wind down for him, for a moment. He went to Instagram checking his DM's like he always did, it was mainly thirsty girls and fans. He often looked for the ones from people who played baseball asking for tips, he enjoyed helping other perfect their craft. He opened a few responding, accidentally clicking on one from some random girl. Just as he was about to exit out of it the word "Pulse" caught his attention as he decided to read the message in it's whole.
"Jessica," he said lowly as all the memories he had from the night at Pulse came to his head; but the memories were limited. He went past his limit that night, he remembered just drinking and drinking, and drinking. And he remembered her doing the same. He knew they had sex, her sex faces automatically coming to mind. They were so damn beautiful and about the only memory he had from the sex sadly. He shook his head debating on whether or not to message her back. It'd been a little over a month and Sofia and him were in a good spot, but she said they needed to talk and he was curious about what. He quickly messaged her back asking what it was she wanted to talk about before clicking on her page to refresh his memory more.
He nodded his head, remembering her for sure he locked his phone and started his car heading to the house he shared with Sofia.
Mateo walked in the house as Sofia stood by the kitchen island drinking a glass of wine while talking on the phone. It took nothing for her to look good, he looked her up and down as she stood there with some jeans on that hugged her curves perfectly and a plain white tank top with her long dark brown hair hitting almost the middle of her stomach. She hadn't done her makeup yet, and he loved her this way. He loved her any way she was, but especially like this. He smiled, his one dimple on his right side pulling in as she easily returned the smile. He walked towards her, resting his hands on her waist as he kissed her on the lips. He turned to walk upstairs and allow her to finish her conversation with whatever friend of hers she was talking to.
He sat his bag down and started stripping to get in the shower. He let the hot water hit his aching muscles for a minute before he started to actually wash. He finished up and was in no rush to get dressed. He picked up his phone again going to his Instagram seeing that Jessica had messaged him back. I'd rather talk about it in person, or over the phone. She sent her number behind it. He sat down on his bed as he ran a hand through his wet hair, he couldn't tell how serious it was from her response, what if she was just trying to have sex again? He wasn't going to cheat on his girl. He decided on not responding until the worst thoughts came to mind causing his stomach to knot up. What if she gave him an STD? Or HIV or some shit? What if she tried to say she was pregnant? He was nervous as shit at the thoughts of it.
He walked to the top of the stairs to see that Sofia was still on the phone, he went back in the room and closed the door, calling Jessica on private.
Three days. It took three days for Mateo to message her back, and they felt like forever but he did and she was nervous about everything now. Jessica's phone started ringing, she was at home laying around. She had did her three days on and now had four days off. The number was blocked so she figured it was Mateo. She rolled her eyes at the fact that he blocked his number to call her. She answered it as his baritone voice came through the phone. He sounded sexy as hell. "Hey." Jessica said lowly, her voice sounding soft and innocent to Mateo.
"What's up?" He questioned as he paced his bedroom, still only with his towel wrapped around his waist. Jessica cleared her throat, she didn't know how to say it, could she really just come out and say it? "Can we meet?" She asked instead.
He stopped pacing as he knitted his eyebrows together, "it's nothing like that," Jessica continued, "I know you have a girlfriend and I have a boyfriend too." He licked his lips as he took a seat back on his bed. "Can you tell me what it's about?"
Jessica bit her lip, she had to just come out and say it. "I'm pregnant." She said lowly. Mateo's heart dropped to his stomach. "I'm sorry what?" She repeated herself, "I'm pregnant."
