The moon cast a silvery glow over the luxurious villa's swimming pool, its surface reflecting the tension simmering between Darshil and Aarvi.
Darshil's expression was both a mixture of pain and deaspiration. He took a step closer, trying to bridge the emotional distance between them.
Hazel, I didn't want it to be like this.... I just, I love you so much that I can't even bear the thought of losing you. Darshil said
Aarvi, her arms crossed tightly over her chest, glared at him.
You did everything for yourself, Darshil! You never cared about what I wanted
This isn't love Darshil. Aarvi said
This is love and you have to accept that I love You. Darshil said, his expression dark and intense
You killed so many people just because of me. Aarvi said
They dared to touch you..... So all of them deserved it. Darshil said, his voice being intense.
So will you kill anyone who will touch me? Aarvi asked
Anyone who even thinks about touching you...... I will deal with them myself. Darshil said
Aarvi looked at him in disbelief.
You are such a ruthless and heartless beast. That's all. Aarvi yelled
Darshil's grip tightens around her arm and he pulls her closer.
You're right...... I am ruthless and heartless. But you don't understand. I love you, and I'll do anything for you. If that means getting rid of anyone who tries to take you away from me, then so be it. Darshil said
Who the hell do you think you are to do such stuffs? Aarvi yelled
Darshil stares at her, his voice low and intense.
I'm someone who will do anything for you. I'm someone who will destroy anyone who stands between us, even if it is the whole world. I'm someone who will go to the ends of the earth to protect you. That's who I am. Darshil said
Aarvi was looking into his eyes, a deep connection felt by her, by his words, his passion or maybe his love, which is feels is just a way to trap her.
Darshil stares back at her, and his eyes are intense and full of passion. He pulls her even closer, his breath hot on her skin.
Do you see the truth now? Darshil whispers in her ear
But I still don't love you. Aarvi said
Darshil's grip tightens on her arm as he stares at her intensely.
But you will. I know you will...... I can feel it. You just need time to see the truth. You need time to realize how much I love you. I'll make you love me...... I promise. Darshil said
You don't love me, you just think and feel like you own me. Aarvi said
Darshil's expressions darkens even more, and his eyes were intense and serious but still magnetic.
Yes, it's true. I do think I own you. I think that you're mine, and I won't let anyone else take you away from me. I don't care what you think...... I'll do whatever it takes to make you fall for me the way I fell for you. Darshil said
Aarvi's anger increased.
I am not a property, do you get it? Aarvi said
I don't see you as property...... I see you as my wife, my Hazel. My soulmate, my everything. I won't let anyone take you away from me...... not even God himself. Darshil said
If this is your love.... Then, your love is suffocating. Aarvi said
Darshil stares back at her, his eyes narrow, and his grip tightens around her waist as he pulled her close.
Maybe it is...... but it's the only love you'll ever know. You'll never feel the love of anyone else like you feel mine. You'll never feel the passion that I feel for you. You'll never feel the obsession that I have for you. You're mine, and you'll always be mine. Darshil said
Aarvi looked into his eyes, trying to take over power her hatred, trying to take off her eyes but failed. She was feeling a strong sense of something...... something strange, something that was drawing her towards him. His words or his eyes? She was confused and continued staring into his eyes for some more moments.
Darshil stares back at her, her hazel eyes, his eyes narrow, and his grip tightens around her arm and waist.
I don't want you to just look into my eyes...... I want you to look into my soul. I want you to see the depths of my love for you. I want you to see how much I crave for you. I want you to see how obsessed I am with you. I want you to see the passion and the addiction that I have for you. I want you to see everything. Darshil said making her lost in his eyes and that feeling even more.
Aarvi controlled herself and looked away.
You are not even letting me think of my good or bad. Aarvi said looking towards ground.
Darshil grabs her chin softly and uplifts her face to look at him.
I'm not going to let you think of anything else but me. I'm not going to let you think about anything else but the way I love you. You're going to think about me and only me. You're going to dream about me, and you're going to crave me. You're going to want me, and you're going to need me. I am your everything. Darshil said
Stop saying this again and again..... It's ruining my mind. Aarvi yelled
No...... I won't stop. I'll keep saying it until you understand. I'll keep repeating it until you see the truth. I love you, and you're going to love me too. You're going to love me so much that you'll never want to leave my side. You're going to crave me, and you're going to want me. You're going to be obsessed with me, and you'll never be able to get enough of me. Darshil said and lets her get out of his grip.
Aarvi took a few steps back.
Stay away from me now. Aarvi said
Darshil reached out his hand, but Aarvi stepped back, misjudging the edge of pool, her heel slipping on the wet tiles and she fell backwards. Time seemed to slow as she lost her balance, her eyes widening in fear. With a splash, she fell into the pool, her scream cut short by the water. The splash echoed as she hit the water.
HAZEL!!! Darshil screamed
Without a moment's hesitation, Darshil shrugged off his shirt, his actions swift and instinctive. The shirt was soaked and heavy, making it difficult to swim, so he discarded it.
Underwater, he spotted her struggling, her saree tangled around her legs. He swam to her, his strong arms wrapping around her bare waist, and pulled her to the surface. They broke through the water together, gasping for air.
As Aarvi looked at him, his eyes were staring into her, concerned, intense and affectionate.
Are you okay? Darshil asked
Aarvi nodded and noticed, her both hands were on his bare chest.
As he held her, their bodies pressed together, Aarvi gasped for air, her eyes wide with shock. Her gaze traveled over Darshil's bare torso, her breath hitching as she took in his chiseled physique. His wet skin gleamed under the moonlight, highlighting his eight-pack abs, broad chest, and defined biceps.
She looked back at him and dropped her both hands back but.... what she saw was unbelievable, and she was stunned to see it.
The moonlight highlighted his bare chest, revealing a tattoo over his heart. Aarvi's eyes widened in surprise as she read her nick name, 'Hazel', inked on his skin, a permanent mark of his devotion.
D.... Darshil, what is this? Aarvi asked, her voice cracking out of shock.
Darshil looked at the tattoo for a second and then back at Aarvi and then he pulled her close. Aarvi looked into his eyes.
A proof that my heart belongs to you, you own me and my heart. Darshil said
Aarvi's heart pounded, the tension between them shifting into something deeper, and more complex.
She could see the genuine remorse, and love into his eyes and it confused her.
At that moment, she realized something.
She was so focused on her anger and resentment that she was not able to differentiate between Darshil's love and obsession.
She reached out her hands hesitantly, her fingers grazing the tatoo.
This.... is permanent? She asked
Darshil nods, as he grabs her hand and put it on his heart.
Just like my love for you. Darshil said
Her hand lingered on his chest, feeling the steady beat of his heart beneath her palm.
When did you get this? Aarvi asked, her eyes still on the tattoo and her voice cracking.
The day, I came to your college because of that mess. Darshil said
Why? Aarvi murmured, her voice softer now.
Darshil's eyes met hers, filled with a depth of emotion that made her heart ache.
Because I love you, Hazel. Darshil said
Aarvi looked at him for some moments, her heart melting at his feeling but she looked away and pulled back her hand from his chest.
No..... That can't be possible. You can't love anyone, because you are stone hearted. Aarvi said, not making any eye contact and her voice shaky.
Maybe I am, but remember, a name written on stone can never be erased. Darshil said, pointing towards his tattoo (his heart).
Aarvi looks back at him and then at the tattoo, her eyes wet.
The intensity of his words, combined with the warmth of his body against hers, sent a shiver down Aarvi's spine.
For a moment, they stayed like that, suspended in the water and in time, their eyes locked in a silent exchange. Aarvi's anger and hatred began to waver, replaced by a confusing mix of emotions. She didn't know if she could forgive him or if she could ever love him, but seeing the sincerity in his eyes and the physical mark of his devotion made her realize that he was far more complicated than she had allowed herself to see.
Slowly, she pulled away, breaking the spell. Darshil watched her, his expression unreadable, as they both swam to the edge of the pool. They climbed out, dripping wet.
As they stood there, breathing heavily, Aarvi looked up at Darshil, her heart pounding in her chest.
This doesn't change anything. Aarvi said, not making any eye contact.
I know, but maybe..... This is the start. Darshil said
They both walked inside their bedroom.
Darshil closed the door behind them with a soft click.
Aarvi felt a lump forming in her throat as she remembered the tattoo on his chest. It was a constant, unchangeable reminder of his feelings for her, and it made her chest tighten with conflicting emotions.
Aarvi walked into her changing room.
After a while she came out in a black night dress.
Darshil remained by the door, his shirt still in his hand, feeling the weight of the moment pressing down on him.
Aarvi stood in front of the window, watching the view of the pool, recalling every moment happened till now.
Darshil took a glance of her and walked into the washroom to change.
Aarvi turned to watch him walk away and then again turned back looking at the pool view.
Aarvi's resolve wavered as she looked at him, seeing the raw sincerity in his eyes. She wanted to hate him, to hold onto the resentment that had fueled her anger for so long. But the image of his tattoo, combined with the memory of how he had saved her from the pool without hesitation, made it difficult to keep her emotions in check. She took a deep breath, trying to steady herself.
Tattoo? He thinks a tattoo can melt me? I don't care if he loves me or hate me. He is just a beast, a monster with whom, I am trapped.... for the rest of my life. Aarvi murmurs
Darshil emerges from the washroom in a tshirt and trouser. Aarvi looks at him and then her gaze drifted to his chest, the tattoo which was hidden now. He noticed her staring at him, his chest.
Wanna say something? Darshil asked Aarvi blinked few times and then looked away.
You've taken so much from me... my freedom, my choices. How can I trust that you won't do it again? Aarvi asked
Darshil's jaw tightened, a flicker of pain crossing his features.
Are you still thinking about the tattoo? I can't promise that I won't make mistakes. But I can promise that I'll do everything in my power to earn your trust and love. Darshil said
Aarvi turned to face him, her eyes flashing with a mix of anger and something else she couldn't quite name.
You think saying that makes it okay? That it erases everything? Aarvi asked, her voice was sharp
Aarvi felt a tear slip down her cheek, and she quickly wiped it away, frustrated with herself for being so emotional. She wanted to stay strong, to resist the pull of his words and the strange, budding warmth in her chest. But she couldn't deny the complexity of her feelings.
Darshil closed the distance between them, his hand reaching out to gently cup her cheek. Aarvi flinched at first but didn't pull away. His touch was warm and tender, a stark contrast to the cold distance that had defined their relationship.
No.... I don't expect anything. I am happy if you are happy. I'm not trying to control you Hazel. I'm trying to show you that I love you. Darshil said
Aarvi's breath hitched as she looked up into his eyes, seeing the depth of his emotion laid bare. She pulled back slightly and sat on the couch.
Darshil sat on the bed and stared at her.
Aarvi looked at him for a moment, in disbelief.
Don't you dare think this tattoo can melt me and force me to fall for you. Aarvi said
I never said that..... I've got this tattoo for my own happiness and satisfaction, not to show it off to you. Otherwise, I would have showed it to you the same day I got it. Darshil said
But you already have shown off it to me today. Aarvi said
Please don't blame me, I had to remove my shirt to swim. Its been more than 20 days since we are married, I could have shown it earlier too but that was not my intension to manipulate you through it. Darshil said
You can't manipulate me. My hatred will be above all your manipulations. Aarvi said
So you still don't beleive that..... I love you? Darshil asked
Aarvi was a bit confused at this question. Deep down she knew it was his love but her mind didn't wanted to accept it.
No.... I would still call it your obsession. Aarvi said and looked away.
Darshil smiles at her reaction.
Do you know you are a bad liar? Darshil asked
Aarvi looked at him, and raised an eyebrow
Yeah maybe.... Not everyone can be a trained liar like you. Aarvi said
Wow!! That was savage! Darshil said
I have to be..... I can't let you win, even if it is an argument. Aarvi said
Well.....I don't care. I will be happy if you win. Darshil said
Aren't you too stubborn? Aarvi asked
Yes I am..... Maybe that's why I can handle you. Darshil said making Aarvi more frustrated
Her eyes narrow as she glared at him. She stood up and walked to the bed, standing in front of him.
You know what..... Get out of my bed, I need to sleep. Aarvi said
W.... What? Your bed? Darshil asked
Yes, my bed. Aarvi said
Darshil smiled amd stood up.
Aarvi watches him, her eyes following him as he gathered a blanket and pillow.
As Darshil settled on the couch, the room felt unnaturally quiet. The only sounds were the soft rustling of sheets as Aarvi climbed under the covers and the faint creak of the couch as Darshil tried to find a comfortable position and stared at her.
Aarvi lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. Her mind replayed the events of the nightâthe argument, the fall into the pool, the tattoo, and Darshil's heartfelt words and she fells asleep after a lot struggles.
