Darshil was left completely baffled as Aarvi leaned in and kissed him softly in the darkness.
The kiss is soft, almost tentative, as if sheâs testing the waters of something forbidden.Aarviâs eyes flutter shut, her heart pounding in her chest as she lingers there, lost in the sensation. Darshilâs eyes widen in surprise, and for a heartbeat, neither of them moves , but it send a jolt of electricity through both of them. But then, reality crashes down on her like a wave, and she realizes what sheâs done.
She pulls back abruptly, her eyes snapping open as a wave of regret and panic washes over her. Her hand flies to her mouth, her heart hammering in her chest as the realisation of her actions sinks in. Her breath comes in short, ragged gasps as she stares at Darshil, who is still reeling from the shock of what just happened.
Without a word, she ran in to the washroom and locked the door. She turned the shower as cold as it would go, letting the icy water can get some sense into her.
What the hell was I doing? Kissing Darshil? I hated him. Aarvi said to herself.
After half an hour, she came back to the room. Darshil was standing near the window, turns to her as she arrives.
He was silent, his gaze locked on hers, trying to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions swirling between them. He can see the fear in her eyes, the regret, but also something elseâsomething deeper, more vulnerable. And for a moment, he wants to reach out, to reassure her, to tell her that everything is okay.
But he doesnât. He stays where he is, rooted to the spot, his mind racing. He doesnât want to scare her, doesnât want to push her further than sheâs ready to go. So he just stands there, his heart aching as he watches her struggle with her emotions.
She stands there, not making any eye contact wrapping her arms around herself as if trying to shield herself from the flood of emotions threatening to overwhelm her.
Forget everything that happened. I... I need to go to bed. Aarvi said, her voice was barely above whisper.
She turns away, moving to the other side of the bed, putting distance between them as she climbs under the covers. Darshil watches her, feeling a mix of emotionsâlonging, frustration, and a deep, gnawing sense of helplessness.
Darshil sits there for a moment longer, his heart heavy with the weight of everything unsaid, before finally lying down beside her, careful to keep a respectful distance.
The first light of dawn filters through the curtains, casting a soft, golden glow across the room. Aarvi lies awake in bed, staring blankly at the ceiling, her mind replaying the events of the previous night over and over. The accidental kiss, the rush of emotions, and the overwhelming regret that followedâit all swirls in her mind, leaving her feeling confused and vulnerable.
She feels a knot of anxiety in her chest, tightening with each passing moment. What had she done? Why had she let her guard down like that? The fear of Darshilâs reaction, of what he might think of her now, gnaws at her, making her stomach churn with unease.
Aarvi turns her head slightly and sees Darshil still asleep beside her, his expression peaceful and calm, so different from the turmoil she feels inside. She wants to slip out of bed, to avoid facing him, but she knows she canât run away from what happened. Not forever
With a soft sigh, she slowly rises from the bed, careful not to wake him, and heads to the balcony. The cool morning air greets her as she steps outside, wrapping her arms around herself as she gazes out at the sprawling palace grounds. The sun is just beginning to rise, the beauty of the scene does little to ease the tension in her heart.
As she stands there, lost in thought, she doesnât notice Darshil waking up. He blinks his eyes open, immediately sensing her absence beside him. His gaze follows her to the balcony, and he can see the sadness in her posture, the way her shoulders are hunched as if sheâs carrying the weight of the world.
Darshil sits up, running a hand through his hair as he contemplates how to approach her. He knows sheâs upset, and he feels a pang of guilt, knowing that heâs partly responsible for her distress. But he also knows that they need to talk, to clear the air before things get more complicated.
He gets out of bed and quietly walks towards the balcony, pausing for a moment before stepping outside. Aarvi hears him approaching and tenses, her heart speeding up as she realizes that theyâre about to have the conversation sheâs been dreading.
Hazel..... Darshil said
Aarvi doesnât turn around, keeping her gaze fixed on the horizon. Darshil steps closer, stopping just behind her, his voice soft and full of concern.
Are you okay? Darshil asked
Aarvi takes a deep breath, trying to steady herself, but her voice still wavers as she speaks.
I donât know... Iâm just... confused. Aarvi said
Youâre still thinking about that kiss, arenât you Hazel? Darshil asked
Aarvi nods
I know you didn't slept well last night. Darshil said. Yes, all that happened didn't let me sleep. Aarvi said
Darshil sighed softly and continued to stand in front of her, he gently grabs her squeezed her shoulders, his eyes scanning over her fragile and vulnerable face.
Now Iâm worried for you, Hazel. You didnât sleep at all last night because of the kiss? Why are you so torn up about it? Darshil asked
Iâm sorry, Darshil. I shouldnât have... I didnât mean to kiss you. It just... happened. And now I donât know how to feel. Iâm scared that Iâve ruined everything. Aarvi said
Darshil takes a step closer, reaching out to gently cup her face in his hands. His touch is warm and reassuring, and Aarvi feels a small measure of comfort in it.
Hazâ¦donât apologize. I get it. You didnât mean to kiss me, right? You were just âacting on impulseâ, like you saidâ¦right? And you havenât ruined anything. I promise you that. Darshil said
But I kissed you... and I didnât mean to. I donât want you to think that Iâm... that Iâm playing with your feelings or that IâAarvi said
Darshil interrupted
Hazel, stop. You donât have to explain yourself like that. What happened last night... it was just a mistake, just a moment.
But I need you to know that Iâm not angry or upset with you. I am not going to take advantage of just a mistake. I am still on my commitment Hazel. I won't come near you until you want me to. So stop overthinking, be comfortable and frank to me. Darshil said
Aarviâs eyes well up with tears, the weight of her fears slowly lifting with each word he speaks. She feels a mix of relief and guilt, still struggling to understand her own emotions.
Hazelâ¦I know, okay? I know youâre confused about how you feel, and I know youâre scared that you might be leading me on. But I want you to know that you donât have to worry about meâ¦Iâm not going to put any pressure on you. Darshil said.
Aarvi nods.
Good. I want you to relax and not worry about anything, okay? You donât have to worry about leading me on or anything like that. Just think nothing happened. Darshil said
Okay. Aarvi said
It's just 5 a.m. now, you should take some sleep now or it can affect your health. C'mon, go to the bed. Darshil said
Aarvi walks in and lay down on the bed. In few minutes she fell asleep.
â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢â¢
Later, Aarvi and Darshil are having breakfast with Rakshit and Anshika when the Rajmata enters. Her presence commanding respect. She smiles warmly at Aarvi and Darshil as she approaches.
Good morning, Darshil, Aarvi. I hope you slept well. Rajmata said kindly
Darshil looks at Aarvi for a second who was already looking at him.
Good morning, Rajmata. Yes, we did. Thank you. Darshil said
Good morning, Rajmata. Aarvi said
I wanted to personally invite you both to the special puja we are holding today. It is a significant event for our family, and Aarvi, you will participate in the Solah Shringar. It is a beautiful tradition that I think you will enjoy. Rajmata said graciously
Solah Shringar? Iâve heard about it but what is gonna happen? Aarvi asked
It's a traditional adornment process for married women, involving sixteen different elements. It's meant to enhance the beauty and grace of a woman. After the puja, there will be a celebration with music, dance, and a grand feast. Rajmata said with a smile
It's a significant cultural event, Aarvi. You'll look stunning, like a bride in the traditional Rajasthani attire with Solah Shringar. Anshika said
Sounds wonderful. Hazel, youâll look beautiful. Darshil said
Aarvi looks at him for a moment but looks back at Rajmata, nodding in agreement. Sheâs both excited and nervous about participating in such an elaborate tradition.
I've had a special lehenga prepared for you, Aarvi. The palaceâs best stylists will assist you in getting ready. Rajmata said with a smile
Thank you, Rajmata. I'm looking forward to it. Aarvi said with a smile
Later in the day, The palace is alive with activity as preparations for the special puja are in full swing. The air is thick with the scent of marigolds and sandalwood, and the sound of traditional Rajasthani music echoes through the grand halls. The royal family has gathered in anticipation of the event, and the atmosphere is festive yet reverent.
Aarvi is in her suite, surrounded by stylists. They help her get ready into a magnificent Rajasthani lehenga, rich in orange and golden color and intricate embroidery. Anshika was also present there. As the stylists adorn Aarvi in a orange lehenga with the sixteen elements of Solah Shringar â from the bindi to the bangles, from the anklets to the maang tikka, nose ring â Aarvi feels a sense of transformation. Her hair is being woven into an intricate bun, adorned with fresh jasmine flowers, while another attendant applies a light layer of sindoor to her parting.
She looks at herself in the mirror, almost not recognizing the regal figure staring back at her.
You look like a queen, Aarvi. Anshika said
Aarvi smiles, then Rajmata arrives there. Sheâs dressed in an elegant Rajasthani saree, her posture straight and dignified, but her eyes hold a gentleness that puts Aarvi at ease.
Aarvi, you look absolutely stunning. The solah shringar suits you well, my dear. Rajmata said
Thank you, Rajmata. Iâve never dressed like this before. It feels... different, but in a good way. Aarvi said with a smile
Rajmata smiles and moves closer, placing a reassuring hand on Aarviâs shoulder.
Itâs a beautiful tradition, one that symbolizes the grace and dignity of a married woman. Todayâs puja is very special. We honor the goddess Parvati and seek her blessings for a long, happy, and prosperous married life. Rajmata said
Aarvi listens attentively, feeling the weight of the tradition and the significance of the ceremony.
Iâm honored to be a part of this, Rajmata. Thank you for guiding me through it. Aarvi said
Youâre part of our family now, Aarvi. This is your heritage too. And donât worryâDarshil will be right by your side throughout the puja. Rajmata said with a warm smile
At the mention of Darshil, Aarviâs heart skips a beat. After their conversation that morning and whatever happened last night, she feels a newfound sense of closeness to him, but thereâs still a hesitation and nervous flutter in her stomach at the thought of participating in the puja together.
Now, come. The others are waiting. Rajmata said
The grand hall where the puja is to take place is beautifully decorated with marigold garlands, oil lamps, and vibrant rangoli designs. The air is filled with the sacred sound of mantras being chanted by the palace priests, creating an atmosphere of reverence and spirituality.
Darshil is already in the hall, dressed in a traditional ivory kurta with a red dupatta draped over his shoulder. He looks regal and composed, but his eyes light up the moment he sees Aarvi enter the hall with Rajmata.
Aarviâs heart flutters as their eyes meet. Darshil takes in her appearance, the way the lehenga complements her delicate features, and the solah shringar accentuates her beauty. For a moment, heâs speechless, unable to take his eyes off her.
Aarvi stands in front of him. Darshil couldn't take his eyes off her, he just forgot to blink and continued to stare at her, as if the world around him has faded away. He simply stood there, drinking in the sight of her as she stood in front of him, in all her beauty and elegance. He stood there completely speechless as he looked over her, loving every inch of her.
Aise ullu ki tarah aankhein faad ke kya dekh rahe ho? Aarvi asked in a low voice
Darshil was still quiet for some moments, lost in her beauty. He then looks around for a second and then gets a bit more close to her and puts his hand on hus heart. After a few moments, he finally spoke.
Dil kamzor hai mera, is tarah se bar bar dhadkane badhaogi to.... Maar hi dalogi kisi din. Darshil said
Aarvi stares at him for a moment bu then laughs softly.
Taje care of your heart then. Aarvi said with a smile
She then joins him at the altar, where the priests are preparing for the ceremony to begin.
Today, you will both offer your prayers to the goddess Parvati, asking for her blessings on your marriage. The solah shringar is a symbol of the sixteen desires of a married woman, and the goddess will grant you prosperity, love, and happiness. Priest said addressing Aarvi and Darshil
As the puja begins, Aarvi and Darshil follow the priestâs instructions, offering flowers, lighting lamps, and making offerings to the deity. Throughout the ceremony, Darshilâs hand remains close to Aarviâs, offering silent support and reassurance. She feels a sense of calm wash over her, the earlier anxiety replaced by a deep sense of peace.
When the puja concludes, the priest blesses them, and the family gathers to celebrate. The courtyard of the royal palace has transformed into a vibrant tapestry of colors and sounds. The evening air is filled with the rhythmic beats of traditional Rajasthani music, the fragrance of flowers, and the laughter of the guests. The celebration following the special puja is in full swing, and the palace feels alive with joy and festivity.
Aarvi and Darshil stand together near the edge of the courtyard, watching as the women begin to gather in a circle for a traditional dance. The women, dressed in bright sarees and lehengas, move gracefully to the music, their bangles clinking and anklets jingling with each step.
Anshika, catches Aarviâs eye and waves her over with an enthusiastic grin. Aarvi hesitates for a moment, glancing at Darshil, who gives her an encouraging nod.
Go on Hazel, have fun. Darshil said
Aarvi smiles back, feeling a flutter of excitement in her chest. She lifts the hem of her lehenga slightly and makes her way to the group, where Anshika pulls her into the circle with a cheerful laugh.
Iâm so glad youâre joining us, Aarvi! Youâre going to love this. Anshika said with a excited big smile.
As the music picks up, the women begin to dance in unison, their movements synchronized and full of energy. Aarvi quickly finds herself caught up in the rhythm, her initial nervousness melting away as she spins and twirls alongside Anshika. The joy of the dance is infectious, and soon Aarvi is laughing freely, her heart light and her spirits high.
Darshil, who had been watching from a distance, feels his breath catch in his throat as he sees Aarvi laughing and dancing with such abandon. The sight of her so carefree, her face glowing with happiness, fills him with a sense of warmth and contentment he hasnât felt in a long time.
Sheâs beautiful... more than I ever imagined. Darshil mumbles
Daksh, who has been chatting with Rakshit nearby, notices the look on Darshilâs face and nudges him playfully.
Caught staring, huh? Sheâs really something, isnât she? Daksh said with a hint of teasing.
Darshil doesn't look moves his gaze.
Yeah, she is. Iâve never seen her so... happy. Darshil said focusing on Aarvi.
Rakshit, who has been watching the exchange, chuckles and claps Darshil on the back. He grins.
Itâs the magic of Jaipur, my friend. The city has a way of bringing out the best in people. And it seems to be working wonders on Aarvi. Rakshit said
Darshil nods, his gaze on Aarvi as she dances with Anshika. He feels a deep sense of pride and affection swelling in his chest, mixed with a growing realization of just how much Aarvi has come to mean to him.
You know, Darshil, seeing her like this... maybe sheâs starting to feel more comfortable around you. Maybe even something more. Daksh said
Darshil turns to Daksh, his expression thoughtful.
I hope so, Daksh. I really do. I want her to be happyâwith me, with us. But I donât want to rush her. Iâve already hurt her enough... I donât want to push her away.
Rakshit, who has been listening, places a reassuring hand on Darshilâs shoulder.
Youâre doing the right thing, Darshil. Give her time. If tonight is any indication, sheâs already starting to see you in a different light. Just be patient. Rakshit said with a serious voice. Darshil nods and then looks back at Aarvi.
