Aarvi stood at the centre of the newly renovated library, her eyes wide with surprise and awe. The sunlight poured in from the tall windows, illuminating the rows of bookshelves filled with every genre she could imagine. The faint scent of polished wood mixed with the crisp smell of new books created a calming atmosphere. She was still speechless, her fingers gently brushing against the spines of the books.
Darshil leaned against the doorframe, watching her with a satisfied smile. He had been planning this for weeks, knowing how much Aarvi loved to read. It was his way of showing her that he understood her, even if words sometimes failed him.
Darshil⦠this is incredible. It contains all the novels I wanted to read but how do you know? Aarvi said
Well, I've been paying attention. I've noticed which books you read, which ones you've mentioned wanting to read, and I've even sneaked a peek at your Amazon wishlist. So, I knew exactly which ones to include.
Everyone has their own ways and mine are actually superpowers. Darshil said and Aarvi laughs
You don't have to thank me, Hazel. It was my pleasure to give this gift to you. I wanted to make your birthday special, and this library is just a part of it. Also, now you'll get a way to get rid of my terrible jokes. Darshil said
So you agree you're terrible. Aarvi said
No..... I want to make you agree with the fact that my eyes are always on only you. You need to know, how closely I observe and notice you, how I understand your unsaid words. Darshil said stepping closer
Well, donât spend all your time in here. I might get jealous of the books. Darshil said
Aarvi laughed, rolling her eyes.
Iâll make sure to schedule some time for you, Mr. Possessive. Aarvi said
Darshil grinned, pleased to see her in such a light-hearted mood. He could see how much she appreciated the library, and it brought him a sense of satisfaction. But, he had work to get to.
Iâve got to head to the office. Some meetings I canât miss. See you at the party. Darshil said checking his watch
Aarvi nodded, watching him as he headed for the door.
Have a good day at work. Aarvi said
You too, Mrs. Workaholic. Darshil said, which made Aarvi smile again
She watched him leave, feeling a strange mix of emotions. There was a part of her that missed him the moment he walked out the door. She shook off the feeling and turned back to admire her new sanctuary. Today was her birthday, and she was determined to enjoy it.
Few hours later after Darahil
Aarvi and Nandini walk through the house, which is already in the process of being transformed. The decorators are working meticulously, hanging strings of fairy lights along the walls and draping garlands of fresh flowers over doorways. The scent of jasmine fills the air.
We wanted everything to be perfect for you, Aarvi. You deserve nothing less. Nandini ji said
Aarvi smiles, her heart full. She watches as workers arrange candles along the staircases and tables, creating a magical ambiance.
Itâs beautiful, Dadi. I donât even know how to thank you all. Aarvi said
You donât need to thank us, beta. Seeing you happy is more than enough. Nandini ji said
As they walk through the house, Poorva joins them, showing Aarvi the final touches being put in place. The house, usually grand and elegant, now looks like a scene from a fairytale.
Wait until you see it tonight, Aarvi. Itâs going to be breathtaking. Poorva said
I can imagine that. Aarvi said looking at the decorations.
Later in the day, the house was bustling with activity as workers continued decorating for Aarviâs birthday party. The scent of fresh flowers filled the air, and the sound of laughter echoed from the rooms where Nandini, Ruhi, and Aarvi were spending time together. The house had transformed into a vibrant celebration, filled with twinkling lights and garlands draped across the railings.
Aarvi was now sitting with Nandini, Poorva, and Ruhi, helping them with some last-minute arrangements for the evening party. The house was abuzz with activity, decorators moving in and out, setting up the lights and flowers. Laughter and conversation filled the air as the family enjoyed the preparations.
The decorators are doing a wonderful job, arenât they, Aarvi? Nandini ji asked
Itâs going to be magical tonight, Dadi. I canât wait to see everything lit up. Aarvi said
Poorva, who had been helping the decorators with the flowers near the staircase, excused herself to grab something from upstairs. She was carrying a tray of garlands, balancing them precariously in her hands as she started to climb the stairs.
She was standing on the top of grand staircase, overseeing the final touches to the decorations. She had gone up a few steps to give instructions to one of the decorators hanging lights, her mind focused on making sure everything looked perfect.
But just as she stepped back to take a look, her foot slipped on the smooth marble step. Her heart leaped into her throat as she lost her balance, her arms flailing in the air.
In that split second, Poorva braced herself for the inevitable fall, but before she could hit the ground, a pair of strong arms caught her mid-fall. She gasped, blinking in shock as she found herself face-to-face with Shiv, her being in his arms, who had just walked into the house at the perfect moment.
Their eyes met, and for a brief moment, time seemed to stand still. Poorvaâs heart raced, but not from the fallâsomething about the way Shiv was looking at her sent a jolt through her.
Careful, Poorva. You almost fell. Shiv said, holding her in a bridal style.
Shiv..... Poorva whispers.
Shiv stared into her eyes, his grip still firm but gentle
Poorva blinked, still trying to process what had just happened. She quickly straightened herself, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment and something else she couldnât quite place.
Well, I wasnât planning on playing hero today, but I guess fate had other plans. Shiv said
IâI didnât realize you were here⦠Poorva said
Shiv settles Poorva gently on the floor and released his hold on her slowly, his eyes never leaving hers. There was a quiet intensity in the way he looked at her, as if he was seeing something he hadnât before.
I donât think falling down the stairs would be the best way to start the party. Shiv said
I-I⦠thank you. I didnât see where I was stepping.
Poorva laughed softly, her heart still pounding. She glanced away, trying to compose herself, but she could feel the weight of Shivâs gaze on her.
Thank you. I⦠I donât know what wouldâve happened if you werenât here. Poorva murmurs
You donât have to thank me. Iâd do it again in a heartbeat. But You should be more careful. I might not always be around to catch you. Shiv said
Poorvaâs breath hitched at his words. There was something in the way he said itâplayful, yet laced with a deeper meaning. She quickly looked away, trying to shake off the strange feeling that had settled in her chest.
There was a moment of silence between them, the air thick with unsaid words. Poorva felt a strange pull toward Shiv, something she had never noticed before. It was as if, in that moment, everything around them faded, and all she could focus on was him.
Iâll keep that in mind. Poorva said
Shiv glanced around the house, noticing the flurry of activity as the decorators continued their work.
Looks like youâre all set for a grand celebration. Shiv said
Poorva nodded, still feeling the lingering tension between them.
Aarvi deserves it. Sheâs really brought a lot of happiness to your family and especially Darshil. Shiv said
Poorva smiled at that, finally feeling herself relax a bit.
She has. Sheâs more than just my bhabhi... sheâs become my friend. Poorva said
Shiv nodded, his gaze still lingering on Poorva for a moment longer before he looked away, clearing his throat.
Well, Iâm glad I could make it for the party. Though, next time, Iâd prefer not to be catching anyone falling down the stairs. Shiv said
Poorva couldnât help but laugh at that, her earlier embarrassment fading away.
I'll try to focus on my steps. Poorva said
Take good care of yourself please. I don't want to see your hurt. Shiv said in a serious expression
Poorva looked into his eyes and swallowed hard, feeling an unexpected flutter in her chest. She had known Shiv for years-he had always been a part of their family's circle. But today, something felt different. There was a warmth in his eyes, a quiet protectiveness that made her feel... safe.
Before they could say anything more, Ruhiâs voice called out from downstairs.
Poorva bua! Are you coming? We need help with the flowers! Ruhi shouted
Poorva quickly stepped back, breaking the moment. She cleared her throat, trying to shake off the strange feeling lingering in the air.
We should go help them. Poorva said
Shiv nodded, though his eyes lingered on her for a moment longer before he turned to follow her down the stairs. But even as they joined the others in the hall, both Shiv and Poorva knew that something had changed between them.
As Poorva and Shiv made their way back to the group, Ruhi immediately ran over, tugging on Shivâs arm.
Shiv bhaiya! You have to help me with the flowers! Ruhi said
Shiv laughed, ruffling her hair.
Alright, alright. Lead the way, Ruhi. Shiv said
Aarvi noticed the subtle glances between Poorva and Shiv, her eyes narrowing slightly as she picked up on the tension. She exchanged a look with Nandini, who simply smiled knowingly.
Shiv beta, good to see you catching more than just business deals these days. Nandini ji said
Ah, love has a way of sneaking up on people. Letâs just wait and see how it unfolds. Aarvi said
Poorva didn't realized what they were saying but Shiv got the point and he blushed.
The sun was setting, casting a warm golden glow over the mansion as Darshil stepped out of his car. His heart raced with anticipation. He had been thinking about Aarvi all day, wondering how she would look tonight, how she would smile when she saw the decorations, and how her eyes would light up with joy at the surprise he had planned.
As he walked through the grand entrance, the sound of laughter and light conversation echoed from the rooms upstairs. The house was alive with activity, but there was only one person Darshil wanted to see at that moment.
Nandini ji and Ruhi were together neat the kitchen and Poorva was upstairs. As Nandini ji saw Darshil, she smiled.
There you are, perfectly on time. We werr waiting for you. Now get ready as soon as possible. Nandini ji said
Yes dadi, but where is Aarvi? Darshil asked
She is upstairs in her room. Chachu, you must see her, she looks like a fairy. Ruhi said
Darshil smiles.
Yeah sure..... Darshil said and walked upstairs.
He made his way to their room, pausing in the doorway. And there she was.
Aarvi stood in front of the mirror, adjusting the delicate folds of her royal deep blue gown. The gown clung to her figure in all the right places, the shimmering fabric cascading down like a waterfall of midnight blue. Her hair open, was styled elegantly, with a few soft curls cascading above her waist, making her look ethereal, almost like a fairy from a dream.
Darshilâs breath hitched in his throat. She was breathtaking.
A fairy.... Darshil whispers.
Aarvi noticed him standing there and turned, her lips curving into a soft smile.
How long have you been standing there? Aarvi asked
Darshil stepped forward, his eyes never leaving hers.
Not long enough. You look... unbelievable, Aarvi. Like something out of a dream. Darshil said
Aarvi blushed slightly, rolling her eyes at his flirtatious tone. But she couldnât deny the flutter in her heart when he looked at her that way.
It's your turn to get dressed. Aarvi said
Sure my lady. Darshil said and walked in his changing room.
After sometimes, emerges from the changing room. Aarvi couldn't take her eyes off him this time. Darshil was in a sharp black suit, looking every bit the powerful, confident man he was. His smirk widened as he closed the distance between them.
You're looking...... good. Aarvi said
Just good? Darshil asked
Aarvi looks away.
So you? all dressed up for me, I see. Aarvi said
Always for you. Darshil said playfully and grabbed her waist, pulling her close. Aarvi stares into his eyes never wanting to look away.
Darshil â Aarvi said but Darshil interupts her
I Love You. Darshil said
Aarviâs heart skipped a beat, but she quickly masked her reaction, stepping back slightly.
We should go down. Everyoneâs waiting. Aarvi said
Darshil chuckled, offering her his arm.
After you, my fairy. Darshil said making Aarvi smile again and Aarvi takes his arm.
The grand hall was beautifully decorated, with twinkling lights and elegant floral arrangements filling the space. Guests were arriving, mingling and enjoying the festive atmosphere. Aarvi and Darshil descended the staircase together, immediately drawing the attention of the room. Everyone turned to admire the couple, their presence commanding the space.
Nandini, Poorva, and Ruhi rushed forward to greet them, smiles lighting up their faces.
Aarvi, you look stunning, dear. Like a princess. Nandini ji said
More like a queen! Youâre glowing tonight. Poorva said
Aarvi smiled, feeling the warmth and love from Darshilâs family. She exchanged hugs with them, feeling truly welcome in their midst.
Thank you so much. Youâve all made this day so special for me. Aarvi said
As they moved further into the party, guests began to approach Aarvi, wishing her a happy birthday and complimenting her on how beautiful she looked. Darshil stayed by her side, his hand resting gently on the small of her back, watching her with admiration as she interacted with everyone.
While the party was in full swing, Poorva was moving through the crowd, unaware that her dressâs zipper had come undone at the back. Shiv, who had just entered the hall, spotted her immediately. His eyes narrowed as he noticed the issue with her dress, and his protective instincts kicked in.
He crossed the room quickly, gently grabbing Poorvaâs arm and pulling her toward a quieter corner of the hall. Poorva was startled, looking up at him in confusion.
Shiv? What are youâ Poorva said getting frowned.
Your dress⦠the zipper is open. Shiv said
Poorvaâs eyes widened in horror. She hadnât even noticed. Her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she instinctively reached behind her, trying to fix it.
Oh no⦠I didnât realize. Thank you for telling me. Poorva said
Shivâs gaze softened as he stepped closer, his voice low and reassuring.
Itâs alright. Here, let me help. Shiv said
Poorva hesitated for a moment but nodded, turning her back to him. Shiv carefully took hold of the zipper, but it was stuck. He tried to pull it up gently, but it wouldnât budge.
Itâs stuck. Shiv said
Poorvaâs heart raced as she stood there, her back turned to him, feeling the warmth of his hands so close. She could feel her pulse quicken, her nerves getting the best of her. Her heart skips beats again and again, not because of the zipper but because of their closeness.
What should I do? Poorva asked
Shiv let out a small sigh, stepping back
Itâs no use. Youâll need to change. Iâll help cover for you until youâre ready. Shiv said
Poorva nodded quickly, her mind still spinning from the closeness of the moment.
T-Thanks. Poorva said
Poorva hurried upstairs to change, Shiv watched her go, the usual feeling settling in his chest.
The party was in full swing. Music played, and guests were chatting and laughing, the atmosphere light and festive. Aarvi and Darshil were standing with some family friends, enjoying the evening when Poorva rejoined them after changing her dress.
Nandini smiled as she saw her, and Shivâs eyes subtly followed Poorva across the room, though no one else seemed to notice.
Poorva, you look lovely! What happened to your other dress? Nandini ji asked
Poorva smiled sheepishly, but before she could respond, Shiv chimed in.
A wardrobe malfunction, nothing she couldnât handle. Shiv said as he smirks.
Poorva shot him a playful glare, but her heart fluttered at the way he had helped her earlier.

So guys, that's all for today. I know this time Darshil and Aarvi's part was less but from the next chapter, I promise they will have a larger part.
