It had been a long, grueling week since Darshil was admitted to the hospital. The family endured sleepless nights and anxious days as he slowly recovered from his severe injuries. Meanwhile, life outside the hospital carried on, though not without challenges.
Shiv, ever the loyal friend, had stepped up to handle Darshilâs business affairs. He expertly managed the company and ensured that things ran smoothly in Darshilâs absence. Despite the weight of responsibility, Shiv found strength in supporting his friend and family during this critical time.
On the other side, Daksh had taken swift action in dealing with Siya. Siya was now behind bars, facing the consequences of her actions. The justice was swift, and her punishment brought some relief to the family, especially Aarvi, who had been deeply affected by the betrayal.
Through it all, Aarvi remained by Darshilâs side. She barely left the hospital, only returning home to change clothes before rushing back to his room. She watched over him, held his hand, and ensured his comfort, never once allowing herself to break down in front of him. Her presence was constant, her dedication unwavering.
The week had passed, and Darshil was finally strong enough to be discharged. His head injury had mostly healed, with a bandage still covering the wound, and his wrist remained in a cast from the fracture.
Mr. Rajvanshi, youâve made excellent progress. But remember, you still need plenty of rest. Avoid stress, and take it easy with that wrist. No heavy lifting or strain. Doctor said
Iâll try, doctor. Though I have a feeling Iâll have my hands full with this one. Darshil said, he smirks, gesturing toward Aarvi, who shoots him a playful glare.
Youâll rest. No arguing. Aarvi said
Darshil chuckled lightly but didnât argue, knowing she had been his rock throughout this ordeal.
Aarvi stood beside him as the nurse wheeled him out to the car. Though Darshil protested that he could walk on his own, Aarvi insisted that he take it easy.
This wasn't needed. Darshil said
You're still recovering, Darshil. Just a little more patience, and you'll be back on your feet. Aarvi said
With you taking such good care of me, I might never want to leave this wheelchair. Darshil said
Aarvi chuckled, a soft blush rising to her cheeks. They drove back home in comfortable silence, both reflecting on the past week and how much their relationship had changed. Aarvi had grown protective, and Darshil could see the deep affection in her every gesture.
As they pulled up to the house, Nandini Ji and Poorva were waiting at the entrance, excitement and relief clear on their faces. Darshil, still a little weak, slowly got out with Aarviâs help. As they approached the entrance, Nandini Ji and Poorva were waiting, their faces lighting up with joy at the sight of him.
Thank God youâre home, beta. Weâve been waiting for this moment. Nandini ji said with teary eyes.
She stepped forward and hugged him carefully, mindful of his injuries, her relief palpable. Poorva, who had been the silent pillar of strength throughout the week, also embraced him, her eyes shining with unshed tears.
You scared us all, bhai. Don't you dare ever do that again. Poorva said
Darshil chuckled softly, hugging his sister back.
I'll try not to. I don't think my body could handle another round of this. Darshil said with a teasing smile.
Aarvi and Darshil stepped into the house, the atmosphere was warm and filled with love. Nandini Ji had arranged for a small aarti to welcome him back home, and Poorva lit the diya as they entered. Aarvi stayed close to Darshil, her hand never leaving his, her gaze always on him, as if afraid to lose him again.
We missed you, bhai. The house hasnât felt the same without you. Poorva said
Itâs good to be home. Iâve missed all of you too. Darshil said
Shiv and Daksh, who had been waiting by the door, approached Darshil next. Darshil looked at them with gratitude, appreciating how they'd stepping in his absence.
Shiv, Daksh⦠I donât know how to thank you both. Youâve taken care of everything â the business, the family. I owe you both. Darshil said
You donât owe me anything, Darshil. Itâs what friends are for. Shiv said
You just focus on recovering. Weâve got everything else covered. Daksh said
Aarvi beta, youâve taken such good care of him. I donât know how we wouldâve managed without you. Nandini ji said
Itâs nothing, dadi. He needed me, and Iâll always be there for him. Aarvi said
Darshil, noticing the emotion in her voice, turned to look at her. His hand, though weak, reached for hers.
And Iâll always need you, Hazel. I couldnât have made it through this without you. Darshil said
Aarvi smiles.
Aarvi take Darshil to the room. Let him rest. Nandini ji said and Aarvi nodded.
After that Aarvi guided Darshil to their bedroom, where soft light filtered in through the curtains, creating a cozy atmosphere. Darshil moved slowly, still feeling the remnants of pain from his injuries. Aarvi noticed the slight grimace on his face as he walked, and her heart ached for him.
You should rest, Darshil. Just lie down. Aarvi said
Darshil nodded, grateful for her concern, and eased himself onto the bed, his back sinking into the soft mattress. However, he shifted slightly, feeling uncomfortable due to the bandages on his chest and the way his shirt clung to him. He didnât want to worry her, so he kept it to himself, forcing a smile.
Aarvi, however, knew him too well. She could read the discomfort in his eyes, and without hesitation, she walked over to him, kneeling beside the bed.
Hazel, you should also rest, you look so tired. Darshil said
I am fine, let me help you. Aarvi said
She reached for the buttons of his shirt, slowly unfastening them one by one. Darshilâs breath hitched slightly at her touch, both from the tenderness of the moment and the slight discomfort he felt as his shirt opened.
Darshil chuckled weakly, seeing through your attempt at disguising her exhaustion.
Hazel, I know you're far from fine. I know you've been worried sick about me. And I know you're exhausted, physically and emotionally. Don't try to hide it from me. Darshil said
I said, I am fine, don't worry. Aarvi said while unbuttoning the shirt.
As she revealed the bandages on his chest, Aarviâs heart broke at the sight of his wounds. On the right side of his chest, there were severe wounds. Dark bruises marred his skin, reminders of the battle he had endured.
Darshil looked at her, his expression softening. He could see the worry etched on her face, and despite his own discomfort, he wanted to reassure her.
Itâs not as bad as it looks, I promise. And look, there is no injury on my heart, this tattoo of your name protected my left side of the chest, my heart, where you live. Darshil said with a teasing smile
Aarviâs eyes widened, a blush creeping up her cheeks.
So, youâre saying Iâm your armor now? Aarvi said playfully
Exactly. You're my armor, my shield, my strength. You protected me when I was vulnerable, and that's one of the most beautiful things you've ever done for me. Darshil said
You risked your life to save mine. You shouldn't have done this for me. Aarvi said
He shook his head slightly, his eyes fixed on hers.
Hazel, I did this for me. I would do it all again in a heartbeat. Protecting you is worth every pain, every bruise, every injury. Your safety and well-being are my top priority, no matter the cost to myself. Darshil said
Then I will say, you shouldn't love me this much. Aarvi said
Loving you is as natural as breathing for me. I can't help myself; I'm hopelessly in love with you. Darshil said
Aarvi was lost in his magnetic eyes, his heart melting words, which forced her to ask the question running in her mind since she saw her for the first time.
But.... Why me? Aarvi asked
Because only your laughter can silence the storm raging inside me. You're the reason my soul exists. It's like my heart found its missing piece in you. Darshil said with a sincere smile holding her gaze for some time.
Aarvi looked away, trying to normalize her racing heart.
You should've been a poet. Suits you. Aarvi said with a smile
Maybe, as long as you're my inspiration. For you, all my words are true, even normal conversation turns into poetry. I can't help it. Darshil said
Aarvi chuckles....
Please, stop flattering. Now tell me what you want? Shall I get you some water? Aarvi said and turned to walk but Darshil pulled her back, gently this time and Aarvi sits back on the edge of the bed, beside him.
He gently takes her hand, guiding it to his chest, holding it there so she can feel the steady beat of his heart.
It's the truth, every single word is true. Feel my heartbeat, it's only for you. You live here, and that's why it is beating. Darshil said
Aarvi looked at him and then as she felt his heartbeat, her own heartbeat felt to beat with his. Her gaze then shifted to the other side of the chest which was severely wounded.
Get healed first.... You can have these romantic poetries later on. Aarvi said and pulled her hand back with smile.
Darshil laughs softly.
Well, can these wounds keep you close to me forever? Darshil asked
You shouldnât joke about these things. Your whole body is hurt, and I⦠I couldnât do anything to stop it. Aarvi said
Darshilâs smile softened as he reached for her hand, pulling it to his lips and pressing a kiss to her fingers.
Youâre wrong. Youâve done more than you know, Hazel. You were with me every step of the way, even when I wasnât awake. Knowing you were here⦠that was enough to bring me back. Darshil said
Aarviâs eyes shimmered with unshed tears as her fingers traced the bruises and bandages on his chest. She felt like her heart was breaking all over again.
But you were in so much pain, Darshil. It kills me to see you like this. Aarvi said, her voice cracking
Sensing the heaviness in the air, Darshil decided to lighten the mood. He tilted his head, a mischievous glint in his eyes as he smirked.
Okay, so you can kiss my wounds to make them heal faster. Darshil said with a teasing smile
Aarviâs eyes widened, and her cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink. She blinked at him in surprise.
What?! Aarvi said while blushing
He grinned, clearly pleased with her reaction.
I mean, if you want me to recover faster, you could give it a try. Darshil said
Aarvi huffed, trying to hide her smile as she shook her head playfully.
I donât think thatâs how medicine works. Aarvi said
Are you sure? Iâm willing to be the test subject. Just a kiss, right hereâ¦. Darshil said while he gestures to his chest where the wounds are.
Aarvi couldnât help but smile, her earlier worry momentarily forgotten. She swatted his arm lightly, shaking her head again.
Not a chance. Youâre lucky Iâm even letting you tease me after everything. Aarvi said
Darshil chuckled softly, his eyes never leaving hers, the love in his gaze unmistakable.
Iâm lucky, period, Aarvi. Lucky to have you, to be here with you. I donât care how many wounds Iâve got, as long as youâre with me, Iâll heal. Darshil said
Her heart clenched at his words, and she felt a surge of emotion overwhelm her but she controlled herself.
Just rest now, Darshil. Thatâs how youâll heal. Aarvi said
Darshil smiled up at her and nodded.
It was late night, the soft glow of the bedside lamp casting a warm, gentle light across the room. Darshil, still recovering from his injuries, leaned back against the pillows, his eyes half-closed as Aarvi sat beside him with a plate of food. She carefully fed him, her movements tender and filled with care, making sure he didnât strain himself.
Just a little more, Darshil. You need your strength. Aarvi said
Darshil obediently took the last bite, his gaze never leaving her. He marveled at the way she looked after him, every gesture filled with quiet love.
I donât know what Iâd do without you. Probably starve. Darshil said in a teasing tone.
Aarvi rolled her eyes at his playful comment, but her lips curled into a smile.
If you can joke, I guess youâre feeling better. Aarvi said
Darshil smirked, but the slight wince from his chest wound reminded him that he wasnât fully healed yet. Aarvi noticed and quickly helped him settle more comfortably against the pillows. She fluffed them, making sure his head was supported properly.
Is that better? Aarvi asked
Perfect. Youâre a better than the nurses at the hospital. Darshil said
Yeah.... Now try to sleep. Aarvi said
As the night deepened, the atmosphere in the room grew more peaceful. Aarvi tucked the blanket around Darshil, making sure he was warm and comfortable. Her eyes flickered to his chest, where the scars from the accident were still visible. Her heart clenched at the sight, the memories of the past week rushing back.
Her fingers hovered near the bandages, but she pulled them back, afraid to touch him and cause him more pain.
Aarvi looked away, blinking back the tears that threatened to spill. His words from earlier in the day echoed in her mind: "You can kiss them to make them better". The thought made her cheeks flush. As she glanced back at him, she noticed his breathing had slowed, his body finally relaxing into sleep.
Or so she thought.
Aarviâs heart softened, thinking he had drifted off into a peaceful slumber. She hesitated for a moment, but then, gathering her courage, she leaned in closer. Her gaze lingered on his chest, where the bruises and scars were a painful reminder of how close she came to losing him. Without thinking, she lowered her lips to the wound closest to his heart, where his tattoo of her name was etched.
She kissed each and every scar and wound softly, her lips brushing against the rough skin, as if trying to take away the pain with her tenderness.
Iâm sorry I couldnât protect you⦠but Iâll be here to heal you. Aarvi said
Her lips then moved to the tattoo on his chest, pressing a soft, lingering kiss over her name. It was as if she was sealing a promise with every touch. Finally, she kissed his forehead, the love and devotion she felt for him flowing through that simple gesture.
Satisfied that he was resting peacefully, Aarvi lay down beside him, her heart feeling lighter, and soon, she drifted off to sleep.
But Darshil wasnât asleep. He had been pretending, his heart racing under her gentle kisses. He hadnât expected her to follow through with what he had teased her about earlier, but the warmth of her lips against his skin was like a balm to his soul.
As soon as he was sure she had fallen asleep, he opened his eyes, turning his head slightly to watch her. The soft rise and fall of her chest, the peaceful expression on her faceâeverything about her filled him with a deep, overwhelming love.
He reached out, careful not to wake her, and gently brushed a strand of hair away from her face. His voice was barely a whisper, but the words he spoke carried the weight of his emotions.
You think I didnât notice, Hazel⦠but I felt every kiss. Youâve done more for me than anyone ever has. I donât know what I did to deserve you, but I swear, Iâll spend my life making sure you never regret being with me. I'll spend my whole life proving to you that my life and soul exist for you, my heart beats only for you. Darshil whispered softly
He paused, his gaze lingering on her sleeping form. His heart ached with love, and he leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, mirroring the one she had given him earlier.
Youâve healed me in ways no one else ever could. I love you, Hazel⦠more than Iâll ever be able to say. Darshil said
He sighed quietly, settling back into the pillows, his body still weak but his heart lighter than it had been in days. As sleep began to claim him, the last thought in his mind was of herâhis Hazel who had started caring for him, who had kissed away his pain, and who had unknowingly filled every corner of his heart.
