Chapter 8: Dark Urges 🌶️🌶️🌶️

The Flames that Bind Us Book 2Words: 9224

LUCIUS

The sobering old wizard picked himself off the ground with a loud groan. It was always the worst drying up after a day of heavy drinking.

What always made things worse was when he didn’t drink nearly enough and couldn’t get to his sweet spot. Couple that with a battle he shouldn’t be having at his age, and it made for a real banger of a headache.

“Oh, Gods,” Marsie groaned.

“I second that sentiment,” Lucius replied.

His eyes finally adjusted enough to see that he had successfully teleported everyone back here safely…well, as safe as they could be after such an exhausting fight.

“Why does my back hurt so much?” Dorian asked as he stood up. His spine gave three loud pops that elicited a yelp.

“Maybe because we’re in the middle of Ellesmere’s central plaza,” Lydia said with a hint of annoyance.

“At least I got us all here,” Lucius retorted.

The old wizard hadn’t noticed at first, but they managed to end up smack dab in the middle of the capital city. And every passing citizen refused to look away from the ragged group huddled around the giant fountain.

“Wait a minute…” Lydia gasped. “Where’s Redmond?”

She jumped to her feet and immediately grabbed her head. Her slender frame wavered as she tried to maintain her balance.

The group looked around, and for the first time in a while, Lucius felt a pang of guilt. If that Earth Slifer had been left behind, the old boozehound would have his ass handed to him. Agatha Alastair would see to it personally.

“I’m here,” Redmond’s weak voice called out.

His arms fell over the edge of the fountain, pulling his body up from the water.

Marsie smiled at the sight. “As if the battle wasn’t enough, you had to nearly drown him!”

A few chuckled at the joke, but it was hard to find much humor in their current situation. Sure, they’d managed to find a few of the missing Royals…but they also failed in stopping an entire village from getting wiped clean off the map.

Lucius dusted off his cloak and waved to a few rubbernecking passersby. He could feel daggers staring straight at him and turned around to find Lydia boiling over in anger.

“What is it now?” he said sourly.

“You teleported us out of there!” she exclaimed.

“Glad I raised you to be so observant…”

“What about all those poor villagers?” Lydia asked. “We left them in the desert while their town was being razed to the ground!”

“At least they got out before Evine and her cronies showed up,” Marsie said.

She was trying to be positive, but it didn’t look like it would work. Marsie laid a hand on Lydia’s shoulder but pulled it away quickly. That confirmed Lucius’s suspicions…his granddaughter was a kettle that’d been left too long in the fire.

“We failed them,” Lydia said.

“We did what we could,” Redmond responded. He had managed to pull himself out of the fountain despite his wounds.

“I know you don’t like to think of it like this,” Dorian added, “but we got the information we were looking for. The Royals are still alive.”

“Under the control of Evine and Uzier,” Lydia pointed out.

“Chancellor Alastair will want to hear from us,” Marsie stated, walking up the street. “And I for one don’t want to keep her waiting.”

GABRIEL

Per his orders, every last building in the city had crumbled to the ground. Gabriel was more than happy to make Evine’s wishes come true. For good measure, he and Queen Adria combined their powers for one final blast that turned the last stone structures to gravel.

No one would remember this place. Its name was already lost in his mind. The first of many settlements that would become smoking craters.

Evine cackled at the sight of the rubble. She was always so beautiful and alive when she laughed. Gabriel always loved that about her…how much energy and life flowed from her happiness.

To make Evine happy was all he ever wanted. To see her sad was an emptiness that he felt compulsion to fill.

Evine moved closer to Gabriel. He inhaled her sweet scent mixing with the embers of the ruined village. The smell of lust and victory merged into one.

“You’ve done so well, my darling,” she whispered into his ear. He felt her warm breath tickle his skin, fanning a desire deep in his loins.

“It’s all for you,” he replied.

Queen Adria drifted up next to the dark mistress. Evine touched Adria’s face, moving a lock of hair out of her eyes. King Gabriel couldn’t hold back the jealousy burning in his heart.

Adria had done what Evine wanted as well, razing one of the villages in her own kingdom to the ground. But she shouldn’t get all the adulation of his goddess, Evine!

“You both have done my bidding,” Evine said sweetly. “And I will repay you.”

“I serve the mistress,” Queen Adria said in a monotone voice.

“Yes, you do,” Evine replied. She leaned over and kissed Queen Adria on the cheek.

The green gem on Gabriel’s forehead shone with an even brighter intensity. Evine watched from the corner of her eye and smiled at his envious display. She turned to Gabriel and touched his shoulder.

“Take us away,” she said.

Her arms closed around him.

This was everything he had ever wanted…feeling the complimentary touch of Evine while doing her bidding—it was a dream come true.

He smiled at his mistress as she leaned closer. In the blink of an eye, he teleported them from Ulu.

EVINE

With a flash of dark light, the trio arrived in a dark forest. Gabriel’s teleport placed them exactly where they needed to be. She pinched his cheek and began to walk through the dense trees.

As the foliage broke into a clearing, she could see the large cabin that housed her and Uzier’s operation. She walked up the steps and threw open the door, feeling the rush of cool air inside.

She turned to Gabriel and Adria, standing at attention behind her. “It’s time for you to rest. We’ve got much more planned, and you need to be at full strength.”

Evine watched her dutiful thralls walk away, zombie-like, heading down a flight of stairs that led to the basement.

“You’re back,” a deep voice called out from behind. “Gone longer than I expected.”

Evine turned to see her husband Uzier standing in the doorway. He was menacingly handsome, with dark hair and a glint of mischief in his eyes.

“We ran into some trouble,” she replied with a hiss.

“That’s what I like to hear,” he grinned.

She walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his head. Pulling gently, she managed to bring her hulking man’s face closer to her own. Her supple lips found his, and lust swam inside her like an electric eel.

His hands were large and calloused, but she enjoyed the feel of the roughness on her skin. Every time he held her, it sent shivers down her spine.

~That fool, Gabriel,~ she thought as her husband kissed her hard. ~He’ll never know the love I have for this man. He’ll never again know the warmth of my kisses or the taste of my tongue.~

She pushed Uzier back onto a small cot that had been made up in the main room of the cabin. He landed with a thud and pulled her on top of him. Evine straddled his groin with her hips and pulled their bodies together tightly, causing the man beneath her to moan with pleasure.

He always enjoyed a little rough foreplay. But today, after all she’d witnessed, things would be more than a little rough.

His cock was growing under her weight. The thickness of the shaft made her mad with desire. She pulled aside her undergarments but kept on the short dress. With one hand, she unbuttoned his pants and pulled out his throbbing member.

“I’m going to fuck you into oblivion,” she whispered into his ear. “Just like that desert village.”

He shivered with pleasure as she sat on his dick, pushing it all the way inside her. Uzier sat up and pulled her closer, feeling every bit of her insides.

“You better not lie to me,” he said as he gently bit her nipples. “Or else I’ll do more to you than ravage your body.”

Her nails dug into his back, leaving traces on his skin as they raked down.

His first few thrusts were gentle, so she bit his ear. The next few were hard and left her wanting more. She screamed with pleasure as the first wave of an orgasm pulsed through her being.

This was her true love—the mate she was always meant to have—and together they would bring the world to its knees!

GABRIEL

Gabriel and Adria walked down the hand-carved stone steps that led into the basement beneath the cabin. It was dark and cool in here—a welcome respite from the scorching hellhole they had just returned from.

As they found the bottom steps, Gabriel registered heavy breathing from deep inside. Four tombs had been carved from the stone of the earth.

Two were occupied, filled with the other Royals. He passed by them, looking at their sleeping faces. King Morrison and King Calix would get their turns to prove themselves to their mistress. They would soon be called upon to visit their own kingdoms…

Gabriel lay down next to Adria and closed his eyes as the pleasurable screams from above echoed through the cavern.

He would get his turn as well. And all of Imarnia would know his true might…
