Chapter 32: 31.

A Happy Never Ending.(GXG)Words: 3734

Anonymous POV:

Months had passed since the murder of Ms. Jones, and the investigation remained cold. Despite the efforts of the police, no leads surfaced. No one seemed to know who had taken the life of the beloved educator. But in the quiet corners of the world, a darker truth lingered, untouched by the authorities. The murder that occurred during Ashantii and Tiana’s getaway was shrouded in secrecy, buried beneath layers of lies and falsehoods.

The police had no answers, and Ashantii—unbeknownst to everyone—had ensured they never would. She had covered her tracks well, manipulating the situation with grace and precision. But while the world continued its search for the truth, Ashantii’s focus remained entirely on her wife, Tiana.

For months, Ashantii had devoted herself to Tiana’s care. She made sure she ate the right foods, kept her hydrated, and ensured her environment was always peaceful. Tiana didn’t question it; she was too absorbed in her own thoughts, in her own slow recovery from the events of the past.

Ashantii made it her mission to be the perfect wife, the perfect partner, fulfilling every need and every desire that Tiana had. She showered her with affection, never letting her feel anything but safe in her arms. The manipulation was subtle, woven into the fabric of their relationship so tightly that it became impossible for Tiana to see the truth.

And as much as Ashantii loved her, her obsession went far beyond the ordinary. She had been watching, waiting for the moment when she would see the results of the IVF procedure—when she would finally know that the life she had planned for them, the life she had fought for, had begun to take shape.

That moment came on a morning like any other.

Tiana woke up feeling unusually ill. Her stomach churned with nausea, and the dizziness that swept over her left her unable to sit up straight. She groaned softly as she clutched her stomach.

Ashantii was at her side within seconds, her concern feigned but carefully masked with practiced tenderness.

"Tiana? My love, what’s wrong?" Ashantii’s voice was soft, almost too soothing.

Tiana’s hand trembled as she placed it on her forehead, sweat beading along her brow. "I… I don’t feel right," she muttered weakly. "I’m so sick… why am I so tired all the time?"

Ashantii didn’t answer right away. She studied her wife carefully, a slow smile creeping across her face as the realization set in. She had known for some time, of course—the signs had been there, subtle but undeniable. The weight gain, the fatigue, the tenderness in Tiana’s body—all of it had pointed to this moment.

Tiana’s condition was a sign. A perfect, undeniable sign. She was pregnant.

Ashantii’s heart raced with excitement, her hand brushing over Tiana’s hair as she helped her sit up. "It’s okay, my love," she said, her voice almost a whisper now. "You’ve been through a lot lately. But I think you’re finally getting what you deserve—a beautiful new beginning."

Tiana’s eyes were clouded with confusion, but she didn’t resist Ashantii’s touch. "A new beginning?" she asked weakly, her voice shaky.

"Yes," Ashantii cooed, her fingers gently caressing Tiana’s face. "You’re going to be a mother, darling. You’re carrying our child."

Tiana blinked, processing the words slowly as if they didn’t quite make sense to her. "I… I’m pregnant?"

"Yes," Ashantii said, her tone almost too calm, too perfect. "I’ve been taking care of you, making sure everything was just right. And now, it’s all come together." She leaned in closer, her lips brushing against Tiana’s ear. "You’re going to be the mother of my child, Tiana. And nothing will stand in the way of that."
