Chapter 11: XI - "George"

Silent But Deadly// COMPLETED✔️Words: 21996

"It's moved to tomorrow..." Kai said as he sat down.

"What? I thought we had another week!" Blake exclaimed.

I shoved Liam's shoulder for an explanation, "Tomorrow you have to fight one of the Royal Aces." I nodded my head in understanding and went back to eating my food.

After the whole incident at the principal's office Kai went back to him and let him know we were taking a day off, surprisingly he obliged without any arguments-so right now we are in Subway enjoying our sandwiches. Kai stepped outside to take care of a phone call awhile ago but now I'm being informed of fighting tomorrow.

Well, now that I think about it - there is something that has been nagging at me since we left the school. I quickly pulled out my phone and handed it to Kai, " 'Why do the teachers at the school tolerate your actions?' well, they know that we're dangerous. They've seen our records, and I guess they don't want any trouble," he replied nonchalantly.

After our lunch I immediately sped home to intensify my training. I worked a bit on the punching bag, a 5-mile run, and even some basic workout routine. I could already hear you asking, "Wow, what's your motivation?" It's basic really. You take off all of your clothes and look at yourself in the mirror, if you don't like what you see, you change it. It's fun to be at a pool party but it hurts when you're the only one wearing a shirt, so you can either change now or never. I figured all of this out myself, nobody really knew how to take care of someone like me since I was so closed off except for my mother. But even then, half of the things I know today I learned by myself since I didn't want my mother to worry about little old me while she was working three jobs and taking care of tw- of me. When she was taking care of me.

After I came home from the gym I headed straight towards the kitchen for a bottle of water, only to be met with a very attractive, tattoo covered, muscly back. I swear back muscles are the hottest but what attracted me more was that they were making... *sniff*... making... *sniff* ... lasagna.

I think I found the love of my life, but that feeling immediately died when that chef turned around to face me.

"Like the view?," he said referring to his shirtless body. Son of a cocky bastard.

I cleared my throat and averted my gaze to his eyes, "No, just thinking about how much back fat you got there buddy," I retorted while going to the fridge.

"Oh really? Because it seems like you got a bit of drool there," he started reaching over to my lips before I slapped his hands away and looked at him in disgust, "Ugh! As if!" Damn, I feel like such a 'Clueless' girl right now. But also a bad bitch if you don't mind...

"Whatever princess, set the table would you?" Kai turned back around to make sure the lasagna was ready. I reached for the plates but pulled back at a realization, "What's the magic word?" I asked teasingly.

He turned back around and gave me a dead eye bitch look that screamed, 'are you serious?' I burst out in laughter and held onto my stomach. Somehow, between the laughter, I ended up rolling around on the floor, still laughing at the reaction he had given me.

A shirtless Liam and Blake also walked in and I quieted down my laughter just a bit before I began dying of laughter once again. Blake did the Sign of the Cross and looked over to Kai, "Want me to call the priest?" He whisper yelled in a frantic tone. I was laughing so hard you couldn't hear me for a couple of seconds before my laughter once again filled the room, "And right when I got my hopes up that she died down," Liam mumbled.

After a couple of more seconds I finished laughing and stood up with a big grin on my face, still trying to surpress my laughter. When I looked at the table it had already been set, pitchers of water were now in the dining room and the boys were now starting to sit down. I walked over to my seat at the head of the table and giggled a little more.

"How can you laugh for five minutes and just, like, not die?" Blake asked sounding serious. I shrugged my shoulders and dug into the lasagna immediately. After what felt like ten seconds I went in for a second filling, but was stopped when I felt a pair of eyes on me.

I looked up to see the guys watching me reach over to the tray of lasagna and I eyed them confusedly, "What?"

"You literally just ate that shit in like, ten seconds, and we haven't even finished ours," Liam commented in disbelief.

"What? You've never seen a girl eat?" I fired back.

"No! No, no, no, we've never seen a gorilla eat," he answered teasingly.

I took my fork and pointed the tongs at him, "Call me an animal one more time and I will make sure Mercy is," I pretended to cut a horizontal lines on my throat, "GONE!" I boomed. He stared at me wide eyed before continuing with his lasagna, not daring to make eye contact with me for the rest of the dinner. Mercy is what Liam named his new car. Since it's a Lamborghini Murcielago, he shortened it down to 'Mercy.' It's pretty creative considering the fact that I named my car Robin since it's red. *Insert the 'yum'* If you don't know the commercial, you're a goner.

I don't know what their big deal on me eating was about though. Girls honestly shouldn't feel uncomfortable eating around guys, if the guys accept you for who you are, then he accepts all of you. Especially if you're with your boyfriend, I mean, they made a temporary (or permanent) commitment to you, which means they accept all your flaws and insecurities. If someone can love you, why can't you love yourself? Because you know yourself better? Because you see things in you that others don't? Well if someone can accept you for who you are, maybe you should learn to accept it too.

"Do you guys have any idea who I'm fighting?" I asked as I put my dish in the sink. I hoped it was someone I had previously fought so I already know how they work and how they move. That would be such a bonus if it was.

"No, we always keep it as a surprise," Blake answered.

"What time?"

"Five p.m."

"Alright, I'm gonna head upstairs and finish some homework." As I made my way upstairs I couldn't help but feel a pair of eyes on my back, I turned around to identify my little intruder, only to turn back to nothing. My stomach started growing with uneasiness but I tried to shrugged it off and continued to my bedroom.

After two hours I had finally finished my assignments and got ready for bed. I closed my eyes as I let the water shower down onto my skin while the scent of my vanilla body soap filled the bathroom. I scrubbed, washed, and rinsed until I finally stepped out and wiped the fog off of the mirror to take a look at my reflection- my black locks that was slicked back of the water, my hazel eyes that has seen so much blood, that held back so many tears but remained to look innocent. My plump lips that were just the right shade of pink to look envious of, and also the ones that molded with Kai Finnel's oh so perfectly.

But there was more behind me, more than you could ever imagine. I've accidentally killed in my fights, but I've questioned myself if it were an accident since I've never really felt guilty. My knuckles has brought physical pain to my opponents and emotional pain to their families. I've seen the affect my body has on other men, the way that they've licked their lips like I was some sort of dessert, and their eyes trailed up and down my body hungrily as I would only wear a sports bra and fitted leggings. I might be sounding conceited, but trust me, I'm not, I'm complaining.

I'm not saying that I'm ugly or anything, I'm saying that my appearance can deceive others into thinking I'm something I'm not. Rachel Tilton has called me a slut because she called me a 'looker' and because I've been hanging out with three guys, one of them happening to be my step brother. I'm saying that my features have been used to get me in and out of situations where my strength could be used as well. I'm saying that elder men and adults have considered cheating on their spouses because of me and then I get blamed for their actions. Men have ruined their own relationships for trying to get their way with me and then they try to play the victim when their dates catch them in the act. I'm saying that I've been called 'beautiful' and 'gorgeous' but also along with 'slut' and 'whore' because of my appearance. Many think I use my beauty to get my way with everybody when really I try to avoid using it at all.

This is the reason why I've stayed silent, why I've hidden under a hoodie, everybody thinks it's stupid but I think it's unbelievable how others think I'm taking advantage of it. So instead, I use my physical and emotional strength to get my way, I use my words to persuade people than use my hips, I use my reputation of fighting to get me in and out of places I want to be, I take advantage of my brains than my beauty. I'd rather hide under a fucking rock than for people to think I'm all 'little miss perfect' instead of a brainiac.

I brushed away my backstory and slipped on my black pajama shorts along with a black cropped tank top that fitted my skin perfectly. It outlined my breasts and showed it's full size but I didn't mind since I probably wasn't going to leave this room anymore anyway. I've always worn what I was comfortable with inside of my room since I've always been afraid of people waiting outside of my door while I'm just half naked. So if I ever leave this room, I'm wearing a hoodie just in case.

I combed my damp hair and arranged my room just a bit so I don't end up tripping over things when I get up in the morning. I brush my teeth and slide under the comforters of my bed and drift off into a peaceful slumber full of Harry Potter and Quidditch playing as I follow the golden snitch.

My body jerks up at the sound of my loud ringtone going off. I search around my bed for the annoying device until the bright light of the Caller ID blinds my vision for a few seconds until I adjust.

"H-hello?" I asked hoarsely.

"Diamonds, I need your help," the other person pleaded out of breath.

I immediately recognized the voice and jumped out of bed for my shoes, "And what the fuck did you do dude?" I whisper yelled while putting on my long black vans socks.

"I might've, I don't know, accidentally, just a smidge-"

"Spit it George!" I demanded.

"Look, I'll explain to you when you get here, but please come quickly," I could hear him running while I heard muffled yelling in the distance- to know George, you have to know that if he's asking for help, then he's totally fucked.

"Send your location right now I'm coming to get you," I yelled while running out my bedroom. I hung up the call and snatched my keys off of my dresser and raced down the hallway. Surprisingly the lights were still on when I ran towards the staircase.

As I was running down the staircase I was immediately met with the three boys running in my direction from the theatre room, "What happened?" Liam asked in a panicked but calmed tone.

"Explain later, bye," I yelled as I jumped over the railing onto the foyer floor from the middle of the staircase. I ignored the yells of protest from behind my shoulder and rushed into the garage and to Robin. I pulled out of the garage just when George had sent me his location- I immediately recognized the area since it was still in his neighborhood and raced my way over there. I sped past cars at 80mph on a 45 mph road and luckily got there in just seven minutes, considering the fact that his house is now thirty minutes away from mine since I moved.

I saw him crouched behind a neighbor's car and watching the event going on in his house which was only five houses down the road. I turned my engine off and walked over to him and he engulfed me in a winded air hug. His face was buried in my shoulder as his arms tightened around my back- my arms wrapped around his neck as he started to steady his breathing in my embrace. I heard more shouts down the road and I immediately knew where it was coming from- his house. I pulled away and showed him to my car where he explained the situation.

"Alright, so you know how my dad has been off the rails lately since... well, you know?" I understood what he was implying because I was there for him while he went through it. George's mother had gotten into a car accident almost a year ago which caused his dad to turn to drugs and alcohol to cope. Most of the time George would stay at my house so he didn't have such an influence on him, I mean he's two years older than me but he still wants to try and help his father, but recently he's been giving up.

I nodded my head and turned towards the yelling, "Well, apparently he didn't pay someone back in time so they're there to take care of it," his voice cracked at the end and I turned back to face him. His deep blue eyes were now glossy from tears and his dark brown hair covered them. I fixed his hair into it's normal position and he gave me a weak smile.

"Do you know who the men are?" I whispered.

"They had black leather jackets on with a white outline of decks of cards, but that's all I could point out," he said sniffling. Deck of Cards...Kai.

I pulled out my phone and started dialing his number once I made the comparison, after two rings he answered, "Diamonds, where are you?"

"Tell your men to take him to a rehab," I demanded. George snapped his neck towards me with wide eyes, "Diamonds, what are you do-"

"I'm helping you out George, unless you want to keep taking care of your hopeless father who abuses your love for him until the day you get killed because of him?" I snapped back at him. He stayed there for a second and weighed his choices- he finally sat back into the leather seat and silently nodded his head.

"Diamonds what are you-" I cut Kai off before he could finish.

"Jacob Patterson, the man who didn't pay you back in time, right? His men are at his house right now probably punching the lights out of him but I'm good friends with his son. Please Kai, take him to a rehab instead, for me?" I asked hopefully. There was silence on the other line until I heard him sigh, "Okay." And he hung up.

"What happens now?" George asked beside me.

"We wait," a few minutes later the men in leather jackets started pulling the all too familiar figure into the back of an SUV. I turned back to George who just nodded his head in approval and I took that as my cue to drive back to the house.

Jacob used to be a good man, he loved Jasmine (George's mom) and treated me like her own daughter since George was their only child. We've known each other since I was in first grade and he was in third and he was even there to witness my change of behaviour. He watched me push away old friends and even stood by my side without questioning anything. He knew I would open up to him soon and that's what I did, I told him everything that happened, everything I was going through, hell, he knows more about my life than my mom. He always supported me in my decisions because he knew the reasons behind them- he even helped me out with my family situation, and that's why I never want to let him go. He's my best friend and he now owns the title of 'brother.' Even though he's 18 it doesn't mean anything, he's still family.

"Where am I going to go?" He breathed out while we were on our way to my house.

"I've already got a plan sorted for you lovebug," I said while pulling into the garage. I walked in with him in tow until we reached the living room where all the boys sat. They all immediately looked up to me and stood up in a guarding stance.

"Dia who's this?" Blake asked glaring at George. I looked up to George who was 6ft tall and looked back over to Blake.

"He's my friend, I needed to help him out and so I'm gonna go back up to my room," I pulled George with me, "Let's go George."

"Nuh uh uh uh, you can go, she can stay down here and explain," Kai ordered as he was staring at me. I looked up to George and gave him an assuring smile, "Second floor, fourth door to your right," he looked hesitantly between the boys and I but obliged nonetheless.

"Sit." Liam demanded. I let out a small huff as I felt like a small child being scolded by their parents. They all sat down and eyed me, "Explain."

"George's dad got into some trouble with your gang, I get that, so I'm setting up a place for him to stay until he's able to pick himself up," I explained.

"Diamonds we don't know if he's a threat-"

"No, you don't know if he's a threat, I, on the other hand know him better than all of you. So don't you dare tell me what I do and don't know," I fired back. I can't believe they're saying all of this stuff about my best friend in the whole world. He literally didn't even ask to stay here with me, I dragged him with me since he has no other relative to go to so I'm his only choice until his dad is stable. It hurts to see him in this type of situation, and I know he doesn't want me to get involved but I already am.

"So what do you plan on doing with him?" Kai asked me suspiciously.

"That's none of your concern, goodnight," I stood up and walked away. I rummaged through the kitchen to get George something to eat since he must be famished after all of these events. I wanted to take care of him as he did me.

I made a sandwich for him and set it on a plate as I went to get us some water bottles. When I closed the door to the fridge I turned around and was met with a very upset Kai.

He looked me up and down and noticed my very revealing pajamas. His eyes lingered onto my double D cup breasts a little longer before he looked back up to me with lust. I hung my head down but was forced to look back up since he cupped my chin, hard. He pushed me up against the fridge until my breasts were pushed against his abs, "Do not give me a fucking attitude again, do you understand?" He asked me in a grave tone.

I tried to pull away from his grasp but he just closed the distance even more by pulling my waist towards him. My heart pounded against my rib cage faster than my car as I stared deep into his hungry eyes.

He leaned into my ear and whispered so lowly I'm surprised I even heard it, "You're lucky you have a guest princess," he said as he dragged his fingers on the outline of my breasts. My breath hitched at the contact and I bit my lip to prevent giving him the satisfaction of my reaction.

He pulled away and looked down at me biting my lip, "Go change your clothes because you sure as hell are not wearing that around him," he ordered. Before he could leave the kitchen my senses came back and my body filled with frustration.

"It's not like he hasn't seen anything before," I teased. I heard him stop in his tracks and I looked back at him smirking- before he could do anything I grabbed the plate and the bottles and headed up to my room in a fast pace.

I closed my door behind me and let out a breath of relief as I only saw George laying on my bed. I mean it's true what I said, George has seen me go swimming in a bikini so my figure isn't so surprising to him anymore. I know I'm so young to have such a size but I blame it on my genes.

"It's like you read my mind," he sat up in bed and reached for the sandwich but I pulled it away and gave him a disapproving look. He sighed and rolled his eyes, "Please?" I handed him the plate gingerly and set the bottles on my nightstand before calling some help.

"Hello?"

"Hey Williams," I sighed.

"Goldy, to what do I owe this pleasure?" He asked curiously.

"Is it alright if you do me a favor?" I asked hopefully.

"Depends," he answered suspiciously.

"Don't worry it's nothing major, I just need you to send some of your men to a house and pick up some clothing from it. Is that alright?"

"Of course, send me the address." And he hung up. I sent him the address in a flash before turning back to George.

He was wandering about my room and looking at some old photos on my photo wall.

He pointed to one in particular and turned to me with a grin, "Oh my gosh I remember this! It was my birthday and you decided to smother me with cake!" He exclaimed. I giggled and joined him with looking at the photos.

"I sent someone to get your clothes, so you can go ahead and take a shower Curious George," I smiled.

"Okay I'll take a shower only if you stop calling me that ridiculous nickname," he complained.

"Can't make any promises, now go!" I said pushing him into the bathroom. I sat down at my desk and opened my laptop for apartments nearby. I know it's a little drastic to buy an apartment for your friend but if I can do it, I will do it.

After I had finally found one and made a call for an appointment my phone went off from a text.

Williams:

Front door sugar.

I rushed down to the front door and fair enough, there was a man holding a duffel bag and a suitcase, "Boss told me to pack everything in his room just in case," he set the duffel and suitcase in the foyer and I thanked him for his work. I sent a text to Williams and told him thank you before rushing back up stairs with his stuff in hand.

I set the things down onto my bed just as George came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his waist, "Took you long enough," I complained sarcastically.

"Oh shut up you take longer," he laughed, "Whatcha got there?"

I opened his suitcase and handed him his clothes, "When did you get these?"

"I didn't, boss did," I replied nonchalantly.

He quickly got changed and I must admit, George was one good looking dude but I only see him as a friend. He has the sporty body but not the dangerous type of body like Kai and the boys. It was surprising since George was older but not so surprising since Kai is a fucking gang leader.

"Alright, so what's the plan for tomorrow?" George asked as he laid down on my bed.

"Tomorrow, I'm taking you out for a surprise," I answered excitedly.

"Okay whatever goodnight," he said unconvinced.

"Goodnight"
