The boys and I decided to go to a diner for breakfast before I took George out for his surprise - wait, no - I decided to go to a diner but the boys insisted coming with us instead of heading to school. I knew I wasn't going to win since it was three against one so here we are now, at Denny's enjoying our delicious waffles. All three dressed in black ripped jeans, white t-shirts, and black leather jackets. George settled on a black fitted shirt that showed his biceps perfectly with dark blue jeans and his hair in it's original swept up style. I wore a blue Tommy Hilfiger sweater and black ripped jeans as well and my black slip on vans with my hair in it's natural waves.
"So you're not going to tell me what you did?" George asked as he sipped on his coffee.
"You ask that like I killed somebody, again," I mumbled which made George choke on his coffee. I giggled at his reaction and wiped his mouth, "No but seriously I'm not going to tell you dude." I replied as I shoved another piece of my waffle into my mouth.
"So George, how old are you?" Liam questioned. I rolled my eyes at how he was trying to act like the overprotective older brother but deep down I didn't mind. It showed that he cared- wait, I can't have anybody caring about me.
"Stop the act Liam," I glared at him which he only returned with the smirk.
"Answer the question," Kai pushed.
"I'm 19."
Blake snapped his head towards me with wide eyes, "He's 19?!" He whisper yelled so no one's attention was towards us. I nodded my head to him in annoyance and he turned to George, "How in the fuck do you know Diamonds?"
"We grew up together," he answered looking between the guys nervously. It was quite ironic how he was older than them but then again, they're in a gang.
"Is that so? Well are you guys dating now?" Kai questioned him with an eyebrow cocked. Is he jealous? Is he being defensive towards me? He doesn't have a right to just question George like that, none of them have a right to question George like this!
Even though I felt uncomfortable in this situation, George and I looked at each other then back at the boys before we burst into laughter.
"D-did he really ask that?" He asked between laughter. I couldn't form my words with how much laughter was going on before we shared our small little handshake as we died down. We continued to eat with a few giggles here and there before Kai broke the silence, "So?"
I looked back at him and smirked, "No Kai, we have never dated," I added an eye roll for dramatic effect.
"Honestly I don't even think Almonds has had a boyfriend before," George giggled. I looked up to him and stared in annoyance, "You did not just-"
"Oh but I just did," he challenged.
"You son of a-"
"Almonds?" Liam asked curiously.
"Yes, Almonds. There was this girl that would always call her 'Almonds' since she didn't really know how to pronounce her name. Everybody caught onto it and called her that and eventually made fun of her," he giggled at a memory, "I remember when Zack Johnson actually threw peanuts and almonds at you because of it." The whole table burst into laughter at the short story, while I just sat there poking at my food.
"Aw what's wrong Almonds?" Blake cooed.
"Call me that again and I'll shove my foot up your-"
"How's everybody doing?" A waitress appeared out of nowhere and checked up on us. We all nodded our heads in satisfaction while she inched over to Kai, who was sitting at the end of the booth.
"And how's your food going honey?" She asked seductively.
"It's alright," he deadpanned, not meeting her eyes.
"I'm sure it is," she giggled a little before strutting away, putting a little more hip into her walk as she went behind the counter and giggled with another waitress.
"Bro, did you see her ass?" Liam asked excitedly.
"Ass? That's plastic surgery you call right there," Kai retorted. George, Blake, and I chuckled at his comment before I paid for the bill, despite the many protests the boys were throwing at me.
We all went back outside and slid into our cars, Kai actually brought his own Ferrari 488 Pista so we could all drive on our own. George rode with me since I would be driving him around until my fight today.
"Wow, so you're not gonna tell me what's going on?" He cocked an eyebrow towards me as I pulled out of the parking lot.
"Specify," I demanded teasingly. I mean there could be a lot of things that's going on; the fight, his surprise, Williams-
"About Kai," he said bluntly. I turned to him in confusion as I started down the road, "Specify."
"Ugh, cut the crap Diamonds. I think we can all see what's going on between you two," he said rolling his eyes.
"And what are you implying exactly?" Now it was my turn to cock an eyebrow.
"This whole morning he's been looking at you with a desperate look in his eye, like he wants you to notice him. He seems like a nice guy towards you actually. Why don't you give him a chance?" He complained.
"You know why George," I sighed.
"I know, because of your br-"
"Because love doesn't exist George! It never has! No man can give me the love that I need and I stopped looking for it a long fucking time ago so just stop bugging me about it!" I yelled. It's true, if he couldn't stay and give me the family love that I needed then there was no hope in finding it at all. I was in so much pain, so much that I thought I would never feel again. But then I started doing good deeds for others and now I feel happiness in others joy. It's my only way of feeling, and even though it may not be love, I needed to feel something.
I turned over to George after we stopped at a red light, and he was looking at his hands shamefully. I grabbed his hands in mine and cupped his cheek with the other, "I'm sorry for yelling at you George, you know I just don't like that guy. You know how much he put me through, please, just right now, you're my only brother." I smiled shyly. I never liked seeing George sad, I never liked seeing people sad in general, I just needed him to understand that some things are sensitive to me.
He gave me a slow nod before turning to me, "I'm sorry too, I shouldn't have pushed it." he whispered. I gave him a kiss on the forehead, "I forgive you."
We pulled into the apartment complex and I walked into the office. A small woman at the desk smiled warmly at me while the guys were outside of the office so they were unaware of the gift. "Hiya, what can I do for you sweetheart?"
I remembered not telling anybody about this so I, unfortunately, have to speak up, "Hey, I'm here to buy an apartment. I think we've spoken on the phone late last night," I recalled.
She typed something on her keyboard and her face lit up, "George Patterson am I correct?"
"Yes that's my friend, I'm buying this apartment for him as a surprise," I beamed.
She looked at me in disbelief, "Well your one lucky friend he has. I just need a signature, some form of ID, payment, and you could move in right away," she instructed politely.
I did as she instructed and took the key from her, "Room 923 on the ninth floor, you get an amazing view from there," she gasped.
"I know, that's why I bought it," I chuckled teasingly. She giggled as well and sent me off to the apartment.
I went up to the boys with a file in my hands and the keys in my back pocket, "Hey, what was that?" George asked curiously.
"Nothing, just have to go upstairs and check something, you guys can come with this time." They all nodded and we headed into the elevator, I pressed the button for the ninth floor and felt the elevator go up. Once we stepped outside we were met with a beautiful city view of the sitting area before us, I turned to the left and started making my way to room 923.
Once I finally spotted it I took the keys out of my pocket and started unlocking the door, "Hey, 923, that's my birthday number (September 23)," George commented.
"Hm, that's ironic," I chuckled back as I stepped inside of the huge apartment.
Large glass windows that led to the balcony covered up almost a whole wall. Hallways that led to the kitchen and at least four bedrooms and other bathrooms were towards the right wall. Furniture was already laid out and about the living room while a circular chandelier hung above the coffee table.
"Diamonds this is amazing," George said in awe.
I turned to him and smiled, "Only the best for you George," I said handing him the keys.
He looked down at the keys and back up to my eyes repeatedly with his jaw on the floor, "Diamonds... no," he breathed.
"George take the damn keys and explore your new penthouse dude," I ordered. Kai, Blake, and Liam looked at me in disbelief as the keys were still dangling in my hands.
"I'm never going to get my way around this situation am I?" George deadpanned. I shook my head and grinned at him as he slowly took the keys.
"But Diamonds this is too much," he said warily, "I'm never going to be able to pay you back."
I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug. He slowly wrapped his arms around my waist and snuggled his nose into my shoulder, "Just don't hurt me and you'll never have to," I whispered into his ear. He nodded into my shoulder, not saying a word because he realized I only pulled him in so the other boys wouldn't hear me. That's what I loved about George, he got the message quickly and he understood.
He pulled away and dragged me with him as we explored the apartment. He wandered into the master bedroom, the other guest rooms, the bathrooms, the kitchen, and he even found the hallways appealing which I giggled at. When we met back with the guys in the living room they all stood up from the couches, "Diamonds I think you should start training before we get there," Kai suggested.
I pouted at Kai and gave him my best puppy eyes, "But I wanted to help him set up!" I whined.
"No, Diamonds, you should start training. This seems like a big deal and I'll be fine, I promise," George assured me.
"But what about groceries! And how are you going to transport from place to place-"
"Uber sweet pea, I can get to the grocery store and back by myself. No need to worry," he informed me.
I pouted a little more and then pulled him in for another embrace, "The apartment is fully paid off but you better fucking call me and I left a credit card for you in the kitchen okay? It holds a lot for money in it until you can find the fitting job and go to college alright?" I mumbled into his chest.
"Diamonds you didn't have to-"
"Just accept it and appreciate it while you still can," I mumbled again. He giggled which made me happy as his body shook with his laughter, "Alright, fine. But go, you have to do this," he cupped my face in his hands and kissed me forehead. I nodded sadly at him but nonetheless walked out the door with the boys.
When we reached our cars Blake shouted at me, "Hey Diamonds, since we're friends or whatever do you mind if-"
"I'd castrate you before I buy you a goddamn penthouse Nickson!" I yelled back over to him.
I heard a loud groan before he spoke, "Fine!" And then his car slammed shut. Liam, Kai, and I chuckled at his behavior before we started up our cars as well and headed towards the gym.
