Chapter 14: XIV - "Beginning"

Silent But Deadly// COMPLETED✔️Words: 12080

I stepped into the large concrete room and I looked back nervously to see my reflection. The others were watching from the one way mirror so they couldn't distract me from my fighting, which I couldn't be more grateful for. I couldn't think that I was fighting for the Deck of Cards, I had to think that I was involved in just another one of my fights for Williams. If I don't, I think I might just end up losing this fight for them.

I turned back towards the door I had entered through and saw a 5'11 man started walking towards me. I wasn't intimidated by his height or his muscles since I was only 5'7, and even though I didn't show much muscle I still had it within me. He stopped a few feet in front of me and that's when I noticed that he too had a mask, but he only had black joggers on which gave me a perfect once over of his tattoos. Those tattoos, where have I seen them before?

A bell rang throughout the concrete walls of the room and I dodged one of his swings just by an inch. We started circling around each other as we prepared in our fighting stances, cautiously watching each other's movements. He then tried to pull a fake punch by reaching in with his left hand, but actually going in with his right. Too bad that I knew that move too well and ducked in time before his fists could make contact with my cheeks. I sent him a punch to the gut which caught him off balance and so I went with an uppercut to his jaw. He stumbled back a bit wiggling his jaw and I took that as my chance to send him a kick to the ribcage. He hunched over a bit and tried blocking my swings with his arms where I noticed it.

The one tattoo that I'd never forget. The one where he promised the worst once I see him again, it was his way of showing that he'd always be permanent in my life. All of the memories started flooding my mind again at the realization that it could be... but it couldn't... but now I don't even care. I'm fucking pissed.

I leaned back in and started going swing after swing towards every exposed part of his body. He got in a few punches here and there but I had the upper hand which was really quite pathetic. The fact that he permanantly promised the worst but here I am, beating him into a pulp. My anger rushed through my body and I couldn't care if I had killed him or not. I kept going as I punched his temple and blood started gushing out, the blood sprayed on my face a couple of times but I didn't care, all I saw was red, literally.

I backed him up into a wall until he leaned against it for support. After a couple of more kicks, I leaned into his face, "You fucking disgust me," I spat out ruthlessly before I punched his nose once again - causing his head to jolt back into the concrete wall and fall limp onto the cold floor. I towered over his body and felt my chest heaving up and down at disappointment and being overwhelmed. I stepped back slowly from his unconscious body and snapped my head towards the opening of a door.

Blake stood at the doorway with a big grin on his face when he looked between my so called opponent and I until he held his arms open. I weakly giggled at his offer and ran up towards him - I jumped into his embrace and wrapped my legs around his torso as he held me up from under my bottom. He laughed at the impact, "Good job kiddo," he complimented excitedly. I laughed into his shoulder as he closed the door and faced back to the guys while I just faced the wall behind them.

" 'Kiddo?' So you're a young girl aren't you sweetheart?" An unfamiliar voice asked. I tightened my legs around Blake and turned so I could face the conversationalist. The man with the dark hair and same colored eyes was smirking at me and Blake's position before he nervously approached me.

"I don't think I formerly introduced myself, I'm Jake Blackwell, second in command of the Royal Aces. And might I say, you have quite a skill, kiddo," he said while sticking his hand up for me to shake. I looked down from his hand up to his eyes where I stared in for a little bit longer. He was trying to pull me in for a negotiation, I know he was. I didn't want any part of it and his deals so I turned back around and wrapped my arms around Blake's neck once again. Blake laughed at my sassiness and rubbed my back while his other hand effortlessly held me up. I know I'm probably acting like a big baby right now but who am I kidding? I'm still a big fucking baby, and after I realized who I had just fought, I didn't want to be here anymore.

"We would like to make a deal with you," Ogus said as I heard him approach us, "But you're going to have to face us to listen."

I tightened my hold a little more and whispered into Blake's ear for my answer. He nodded and repeated my response to Ogus, "She doesn't want any part of your deals," he said calmly.

"Picky now, aren't we sweetheart?" Ogus laughed, "Alright then, I'll play by your rules. We would like to make you a deal, we will pay you 50% of the earnings you retrieve from fighting for us, and you will also get protection from our gang. I know I'm being blunt, but I'm also being quite serious, now what do you say?"

I could practically feel him smirking hopefully behind me as he was speaking. I shook my head no and I heard an unfamiliar devilish laugh come from behind me.

"You are one tough cookie aren't you cupcake? Well, it seems like you don't know who we are, we're the Royal Aces, one of the strongest gangs out there-"

"But not the top," Kai interrupted.

"Yes, not the top, but one of the strongest. Now because you are still a child like the rest of these phonies," he chuckled, "How about we take you out to dinner and we will discuss anything you want to know about our gang and the deal. But for you to join us you have to come alone, are we clear?" He asked in a serious tone. I turned back around and saw that it was the guy with green eyes talking, I whispered into Blake's ear and he responded, "Austin Wassels."

"Oh, already learning my name now aren't we? Is that a yes?" I heard him ask hopefully. I turned back around at him and gave him a glare so deadly he even widened his eyes in shock a little. I still remained stubborn and shook my head 'no' and snuggled into his arms. I then felt two arms grab onto my waist, pulling me away from Blake - I turned to Liam who was now taking ahold of me and carrying me just like Blake was. Awe, these guys are so sweet.

"What will it take for you to agree to us? Do you want us to carry you around and pass you to each other until you finally say yes?" Ogus asked sarcastically. I stayed still in Liam's arms and heard Kai speaking in the background, but all I could make out was 'we made a deal' and 'exhausted' until my body relaxed as I fell asleep into my step brother's arms.

I finally woke up to the sound of an engine shutting off, though I still kept my eyes remained shut. I heard someone open the door behind me and felt myself being lifted up into a pair of strong familiar arms hold me against their chest. I listened to their steady heart beat and took in the scent of their intoxicating cologne; peppermint mixed with what smelled like blueberries, which was quite relaxing and helped me breathe. Mental note: if I ever get sick, take Blake's cologne.

I heard many doors opening before me until I heard one last door open before I was set onto my bed. I heard many whispers between the guys who were still in my room for some unknown reason.

"Should we draw on her face?" I shot my eyes open to see Blake holding a sharpie in his hand, huddling with the guys in a circle.

"Touch my face and I'll remove your testicles," I snapped which made them all jump in surprise.

"Fuck Diamonds, you scared the shit out of me," Liam said with his hand over his heart.

"You were supposed to be asleep!" Blake exclaimed.

"Yeah but I woke up from the dead right when I heard you planning on drawing a dick on my face," I pointed out as I sat up.

"I...uh...well... how do you feel?" He asked changing the subject.

"I feel..." I was cut off by the memory of the fight today. The memory of seeing him again after all these years of being alone. The tattoo that reminded me that he was going to conjure hell into my life once he showed up again; the tattoo of the shattered diamonds.

"...good." I finished off, uncertainty laced in my voice but I hoped the boys wouldn't catch it. I mean, I wore a mask, he didn't know my identity, he didn't know my name, did he?

"Did you guys tell them my name?" I asked in a panicked tone. They shook their head confusedly at me and I relaxed back into my bed and sighed. That means they don't know any information about me, that means they can't get me unless they followed our cars back here. Let's just hope they didn't.

"You guys can head to sleep, I'm gonna talk to Diamonds for a little alright? Move out," Kai demanded. The boys headed off to their rooms hesitantly as I ran off into the bathroom and let out my insides into the toilet. I heard a knock on my door as I flushed, "Diamonds, you okay in there?" He asked concerned.

"Yeah, just gonna take a shower," I replied as I pulled the handle and started undressing myself. I stepped in without a glance in the mirror and started washing away my sweaty odor.

I just can't help but feel a little paranoid, is he really coming after me? Does he know where I am? Maybe I should talk to Mom about this- MOM! I totally forgot about her! Now I feel like the worst daughter in the world!

I reached for my phone on the floor and started dialing my mom's number. After a few rings she finally picked up...

M: Diamonds!

D: Hi Mommy...

M: Is there something wrong? You haven't called me in awhile.

D: Yeah I just wanted to know how you guys were doing.

M: Oh it's fabulous honey, you'd absolutely love it here in Mexico... oh, honey! I have to go! Jared's dancing with the mariachi band, love you!

She hung up the phone before I could reply, I turned off my phone and mumbled a small, "Love you too mom," before continuing with my shower.

After ten minutes I stepped out and wrapped a towel around my body and made my way towards my walk in closet. I pulled out the red tube top I had worn earlier and instead slid on my red pajama shorts as well. I might as well sleep naked actually...

Ignoring my thoughts I walked back out to see Kai sitting on the edge of my bed in nothing but grey sweatpants, eyeing my outfit. He looked me up and down but drove his attention back up to my eyes when I cleared my throat, "You wanted to talk?" I asked as I crawled onto my bed, towards the headboard.

"Yeah, how are you actually feeling princess?" He asked, putting emphasis on the 'actually.' I knew I wasn't being so discreet earlier, I should've done it better, I should've answered more relaxed. Well, I might as well do it now if I could do it earlier.

"I feel fine actually, I just fought again. There's no big deal, I do it for a living Kai," I answered unfazed.

"Hm," he hummed unconvinced at my explanation and instead crawled in next to me.

"What are you doing?" I asked scooting away.

"I'm sleeping in your bed tonight," he replied as if it was obvious.

"You have a room, go use it," I sassed as I turned around so my back was facing him.

"But I feel so much more comfortable in this bed," he kissed me softly on my cheek, "right here," he then kissed my neck, "with you," he whispered as he landed one last kiss on my bare shoulder.

But to be honest, I wasn't even paying attention to his kisses, I was staring at my photo wall. My eyes roamed around it until it fell onto the now vacant spot of it all, where the photo I had burned earlier this morning is now gone. I still don't understand how it had gotten there, I had set this wall up myself, how did I not notice picking it up?

"Diamonds?" I heard a faint whisper.

"Uh huh?" I asked into the air.

"Goodnight," I had forgotten all about Kai being right next to me while I stared into space. I turned my head towards him and observed his concerned expression, "goodnight," I whispered.

But it didn't feel like one, no, this felt like the beginning.
