"And why the fuck are we doing this at three in the morning?" George complained as he loaded his truck with another box.
"Because he doesn't need me anymore George, and I don't intend on staying at his house when I have my own," I replied matter of factly.
After I had asked George if he could meet me at Kai's house to pack my things, he didn't ask any questions, like always. I didn't want to ask Joe and Richard because I didn't want them to know the enemy's location, so I sent them home and had George help me out instead. He didn't mind helping me, but he really did mind the timing.
"Diamonds how much shit do you have?" He asked as he lifted two suitcases into the bed of his truck.
"Dude," I tried finding an answer, but I couldn't, "just shut up," I chuckled.
I checked my room for any more things I had left behind and there was nothing. I left all of the furniture since that would be too much of a hassle, but I did take down the fairy lights from the ceiling. I walked into the bathroom and checked the showers and cabinets and I didn't leave anything behind.
After I was satisfied I went down to the kitchen to grab Soldier's foods and toys and placed them in the back of his truck. After everything was finished I set my spare key to the house on the table and walked out of the house and into George's truck.
When Soldier had settled in the back I pulled my MacBook on to my lap and started sneaking into Kai's security system, again, and deleted the footage of George and I loading his truck and replacing it with an old one of a peaceful night.
After I had erased any trace of me sneaking in, I shut off my laptop and looked out the window to the empty freeway.
"Diamonds, if your dog makes a mess back there I will kill you," George threatened.
"Not if I kill you first," I joked.
He chuckled and I laid my head on his shoulder, "What keeps your mind busy?" He asked.
I sighed, "Soldier, he's a good dog. He follows orders well and he's such a great listener. Sometimes I don't even believe he's a dog," I admitted.
"Yeah, when you told me about your little guard dog I was confused but, now I see that you need him," he explained.
I sat up to look at him, "What do you mean by that?" I asked confused.
"You wouldn't call me in the middle of the night for something that could be done during the day, now would you?" He asked giving me a 'look.'
"Ugh, I hate this," I groaned.
"You wanna talk about it?" He asked, not keeping his eyes off the road.
I sighed and contemplated on telling him or not. Since I'm a gang leader I can make sure nobody hurts him, right? Like I could keep tabs on him even without his knowledge. But maybe I should warn him first.
"Your knowledge of this could get you possibly killed, are you up for it?" I arched an eyebrow at him.
He glanced between me and the road before holding my hand, "I owe you my life anyway, I'd be honored to die for such a great friend like you," he gave me a genuine smile and I sighed in content.
"I'm a gang leader."
George accidentally lost control of the car for a second before keeping a firm grip on the steering wheel with both hands. He looked at me confused and bewildered at my statement, "What?!"
"Look, I know it's a lot to take in, but let me explain."
When he didn't do anything I continued, "Jewels came back awhile ago and showed up at my house. After beating him to a pulp, I left the house and apparently while I was gone, Kai, Liam, and Blake had kidnapped him."
"I had thought that Jewels was still staying at the house so Kai had offered me to move in with him so I did. After he had asked me what to do with Jewels I told Kai to kill him. So I talked to Jewels before he died and he apologized to me about how traumatizing my childhood was because of him. Soon after, I watched a bullet go through his head."
George's eyes widened at my words, "I had spoken to a man who had tried stealing from Kai and he told me about a gang called 'Shattered Jewels,' and I thought ' well hey that can't be a fucking coincidence ' and he told me about their gang. Jewels had apparently wanted me to join his gang so I used that as my excuse to figure out where their base is. I didn't tell Kai or anybody else where the base was because I knew they were going to be stupid and run in guns blazing."
"So then I snuck out of his house and went to the base myself and checked it out. I faked a couple of tears here and there and used my brothers death as an excuse to get to know their information. I met a guy named Joe, who is now my second in command, and he told me that Jewels had planned to actually run the gang with me. But since he passed, the gang was passed on to me and so I've been taking care of it ever since for two weeks."
"So I was running the gang behind Kai's back and he accidentally found out when he was looking through some information of my gang because we were moving quick and rising to the top fast. He found out it was me, I ran away to my penthouse in the city, stayed there with my second and third in command, and went to the masquerade ball where I planned to apologise to Blake, Liam, and Kai about running away but I walked into him sucking faces with another girl."
I finished.
George kept his wide eyes on the road but I knew he had heard every word I just said. His mouth was agape and he kept opening and closing it like a fish, trying to find the words.
"What the fuck.." he sighed as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Yep, and so now under my leadership I brought my gang up to a ranking of number two," I added in.
"What the fuck.." he sighed again.
I chuckled at him and nodded my head in a nervous enthusiasm, "What the fuck is right George, what the fuck is right," I said patting his shoulder.
"And so where was he the whole time?" He asked as he gestured to Soldier.
"Right by my side," I replied nonchalantly.
We started entering the forest but I stopped him before he got lost, "Wait, stop. Let me drive, it gets a little complicated here," I offered.
He rolled his eyes and I climbed over him as he scooted under me. I started driving again and we got deeper into the forest and closer to the house.
"You're not trying to kill me are you?" George asked in a panic tone.
"George I might be a gang leader but I would never hurt my best and only friend, other than Soldier," I chuckled.
I turned into the little passageway and soon the mansions gates came into view, as well as the mansion itself. I watched in the corner of my eye as George started to perk up at the sight of the mansion and looked to me as if I was kidding, but I wasn't.
I stopped next to the finger print scanner and placed my thumb onto it. Once I heard the buzzer the gates started to open and the empty mansion started getting closer as I drove up the driveway.
I parked near the front door and got out as well as Soldier, and started getting my bags. George finally got out and gawked at the huge structure before I cleared my throat. He looked over to me in surprise and I gestured towards the many boxes that needed to be unpacked.
"Oh, yeah, right."
He started grabbing two small boxes and I placed my small bags into Soldier's mouth and we walked up the stairs. When we walked in I turned on the light and the chandeliers that hung in the foyer lit up and I did that all the way up to the master bedroom.
We continued to go back and forth, up and down the stairs to get my things inside. When we were finally done I plopped down onto the clean, soft, bare mattress in the bedroom.
"Do you need any help unpacking?" He asked as he sat down next to me.
"No, I'm okay. I'm going to start going shopping in the morning so if you wanna join-"
"As long as I can explore this museum, then I'm down," he said in a serious tone.
I chuckled at him and used my elbows as support to lift me up, "Well wanna come down to the base with me? No one should be there right now. I let a majority of them go for the holidays," I suggested.
He sat there deep in thought until he nodded his head with a grin.
"You don't have to if you don't want to," I offered.
"No, it's okay, I want to get to know more about you and your business. It's kind of like an adrenaline rush, and Lord knows I need a little excitement in my life," he groaned.
"Whatever happened to Melody?" I asked as the three of us left the bedroom and I grabbed my go-to bag.
"We broke up awhile ago. She had to move away for college remember?" He said rubbing the back of his neck.
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry about that bud," I said as I rubbed his back.
"It's alright, we didn't really have great communication skills," he shrugged his shoulders as we entered the garage.
I switched on the light to the garage and watched as George's jaw dropped at the sight of the expensive cars. His eyes roamed throughout the garage until we stopped at a matte black McLaren 720.
"Diamonds this is so sick!" He exclaimed.
"Thank my brother for that," I chuckled as George got in and Soldier climbed in on top of him.

"This place isn't creepy at all," George said unsurely as we walked towards the warehouse.
"Don't worry, we're having another one built up, so you could see the new one once it's finally finished," I offered as we walked up the stairs.
I unlocked my office door and passed George a water from the fridge. I filled Soldier's bowl with food and water before grabbing a bottle for myself.
"So this is your office?" He asked as he looked around.
"Yeah, but the new base will have a bigger office," I mentioned as I typed away on the monitor.
"What are you doing?" He asked as he lifted me from the leather chair and sat me down onto his lap instead.
George and I can do this type of stuff without feeling weird. We've known each other for so long that we express who we really are to each other and not give a damn about any one's opinion.
"Looking at my maid and chef services so I could put some life into that house," I said as I wrote down some phone numbers.
"Wow, the dangerous but luxurious life, how's it feel?" He asked as he leaned back.
"It feels dangerous and luxurious dumbass," I deadpanned as I giggled. He rolled his eyes at me as I started to sort through files and get done with some paperwork for the businesses.
"How do you do it Diamonds?" He asked from behind me.
"Do what?" I asked as I didn't avert my gaze away from the papers.
"This is all so much on your hands, how do you live through it?" He asked hesitantly.
I dropped my pen and looked into space for awhile, trying to find my answer. As soon as I found it I smiled, "Jewels wanted us to be siblings again. He wanted us to rule Illium as brother and sister, and I guess I kind of owe it to him," I said sadly.
"Illium? Your last name Illium?" He asked as he turned me on his lap to look at him.
"Yeah, he was actually going to change it to that once we both took control," I added.
He nodded his head and I continued with paperwork. Later on George had transferred to the couch and slept awhile as I continued my paper work. Soldier had fallen asleep on the floor next to him and I admired the scene in front of me.
"My two favorite boys..."
