Chapter 4: IV - "I Will Not Give In"

Silent But Deadly// COMPLETED✔️Words: 10882

I pulled up into the garage at 7:00 p.m. after I had gotten back from the mall. I'll admit I'm quite the shopaholic if you ask me and I could go a little intense on the stores there. I didn't buy things for me only though, I bought some things for my mom as well because I'm not actually THAT selfish.

I grab my bags from the trunk and head inside the dark house. The garage door slamming behind me kind of made me jump because it was so silent when I entered. The house was dark but nonetheless I walked up to my bedroom to set my things down. I pushed my door open and turned on the lights and jumped as I saw the three boys in my room.

Kai was sitting on my bed while Liam was waiting by the window and the blonde, wow I really need to learn his name soon, was sitting in my desk chair. They all eyed me suspiciously as I walked further into the room and closed my door. I decided to ignore them and instead walked over to my walk in closet to set my bags down. They all watched me as I walked into the bathroom to wash my face and walk back out to my phone.

I put an order online for pizza because I was too lazy to cook and looked up to the boys. They were still glaring at my bored expression and I waited for them to explain what was going on.

As if Liam was reading my confusion he blurted out, "Where were you last night?"

Oh fucking shit

I tensed up at the question but immediately shook it off with a shrug.

"Diamonds you better fucking talk because we're not going to be chasing you around the city all night," the blonde demanded. I stood there not intimidated by him until Kai stood up and stalked closer to me. When he was hovering over me I kept my head down as I did this whole time and looked at my shoes nervously.

I felt his finger brush my hair out of my face and behind my ear, he then dragged his fingertip across my cheek, and outlined my jaw until it stopped under my chin. He slowly lifted my head up but I turned away before he could look at my face. Now why would he do that? He didn't need to look at my face, why now? He shouldn't look at me, I don't want him to look at me, he actually might think I'm ugly. Ugh here I am thinking that some guy would imagine me as ugly, I shouldn't care what he would think.

The doorbell rang and I immediately rushed out of my room and to the front door to get my pizza.

I shut the door behind me and carried the two boxes to the kitchen, ignoring the boys walking down the stairs to follow me. I grabbed a plate from the cabinet and started digging into my pizza as I walked over to the living room to watch TV. Soon the boys joined me with slices of their own and watched a boxing match with me on the flat screen.

During the break I went to go get more pizza with the guys in tow. After they had gotten their slice I stayed behind and grabbed a water bottle. When I turned back around I was met with a hard chest and accidentally crashed into it. After balancing myself I looked up to see Kai staring right at me already. He put his hands on each side of my head so I was trapped between him and the fridge. Our close proximity made my heart beat quicken since I've never been so close to a guy before.

This whole time with glaring into each other's eyes, ignoring our heart beats that are about to leap out of our chests in any second. I then smirked and went under his arm, got my plate, and went back to the living room. Kai came back in a couple seconds after me and he was just staring at me. I sat in the corner of the L shaped sofa and watched the men in amusement on the screen.

During the second half a phone went off and started ringing. All of their heads snapped to me as I cautiously answered it.

"Gold," ugh why did Williams have to call me now? Nice fucking timing dude.

"Hmm," I answered. (what)

"You're around people right now?"

"Mhm" (yes)

"Oh, well I need you to race for me tonight-"

"Hm!?" (what?!)

" Yes there is a lot of money you could earn from this, possibly $8,000 if you win," Eight thousand dollars, I want to go but how will I get past the boys? They're probably going to keep an eye on me all night!

I hung up the call and texted Williams instead:

Me:

What time?

Williams:

11:00 p.m. don't be late!

Well only if I show up Williams...

I put down my phone and found the boys already staring at me, curious on who was calling me. I started forming a plan in my mind as I continued watching the fight on the screen.

"Who was that?" blonde asked. I shrugged my shoulders and looked at the time, an hour and a half, whoopie.

(note sarcasm)

My attention then shifted back to the TV and so did theirs. After thirty minutes I pretended to yawn and droop my eyes. After another 10 minutes I pretended to fall asleep on the sofa. I felt myself being lifted with one hand behind my knees and another on my back, I would've squirmed around but I was only assuming that they were bringing me back up to my bedroom. After awhile I felt myself being dipped onto my bed and someone tucking me in.

I heard the door close and I peeked my eyes open to see no one in my room. After five more minutes I waited for someone to come back into my room to check on me but no one came, so I tiptoed to my closet and got changed into black ripped jeans, a blue spaghetti strap crop top and a leather jacket. I slipped on my black converse and put a mask that covered half of my face. I grabbed my small back pack and placed my wallet and phone inside before walking towards my door. As I was tiptoeing towards my door I suddenly heard chatter, "Is she asleep?" I recognized it as the blonde's voice.

"Yeah Blake, but I'm not sure so I'm standing out here to make sure she doesn't sneak out," SON OF A BISCUIT DUDE JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. Blake, that's a cool name though.

I mentally sighed in my head and turned to my next possible exit: the window. See, the problem with this exit, is that this is a fucking mansion, and I'm on the second floor, which means my window is probably like 50ft off the ground, which may or may not cause me to break a bone. Which is like totally fine yeah? No it's fucking not.

I opened my window slightly and looked around to see if there was anything I could use to help me down. I suddenly spotted a pipe that led all the way down to the cement ground, and as unsure as I was I immediately started moving when I heard the next words that left Blake's mouth from the other side of the door, "Well if you're unsure let's just go check on her."

I had already climbed out of the window and gotten a hold on the pipe when I saw the handle turn. I immediately started my way down which was quicker than I thought and ran towards the garage. I pulled out of the garage and out the driveway to see Kai, Blake, and Liam watching me drive off from outside of my bedroom window in shock. I sped out of the gates and towards the race track without looking back, I was sure that those boys didn't know where I was going.

I didn't want them to follow me, I didn't want them to get close to me at all. Since I'm highly skilled in many things, many dangerous people will use what I love against me to join their little gang, and I can't do that to them. I can't live with the guilt of someone being in pain or possibly dead just because I was being stubborn and didn't want to join. I just needed to do what I was told and I could get money and protection from Williams, they needed to understand that.

I pulled into the racetrack ten minutes before I was supposed to race. I rushed out of my car and towards William who was talking to a group of what I'm guessing is gang leaders.

I tapped on his shoulder to get his attention, "Oh Gold! I'm so glad you made it! I almost thought you couldn't honey!" William exclaimed when he saw me.

I giggled and replied, "Of course I would make it silly! I can never pass up a good race," I said as I playfully hit his arm. He laughed in return and told me to get ready and so I did. I drove my car up next to the Lamborghini Aventador and got out to shake hands with my opponent.

"So you're the infamous Gold huh? Can't wait til you downgrade to silver," my opponent cockily stated. I swear if I weren't so put together than I would've said a badass comeback, but I decided against it.

Soon a woman who was wearing cloth, yes that's how little of clothing she was wearing, stood in between the cars. I saw my opponent wink at her in my peripheral vision and I mentally gagged at that. I got into my car and started warming up my engine for the race. As soon as the woman lifted up the green flag my foot was hovering on the gas pedal, ready to speed off.

She swung the flag and both cars were gone, only leaving dust behind our tires. I shifted to 6th gear and pressed down onto my gas until it was at 100mph. When the turn came up I used the same method I did with the boys, but this time I was gentle with my tires. I pulled the E-brake as I turned and used my clutch to soften the drift until I was safely going straight down the track once again.

He was only a few feet behind me now and I needed to make the next turn. As I turned the dirt on the track accidentally covered the windshield of his car which made him slow down for safety, and I sped to the finish line. One round was all we needed to do, one round is what I came here for, and one round I earned $8,000.

I slowed my car down and turned off the engine as I got out of the car. I walked over to William who looked at me proudly as he held a brief case in his hands. As I approached him he held out the briefcase, "All there honey," he said as I grabbed it. I didn't check it because whenever I did, it would always be there. I pulled Williams in for a hug goodbye and jumped back into my car.

Instead of going home like I thought I would, I found myself outside of a 24/7 gym. I walked in and saw the person at the counter buried in their arms. Instead of waking them up I just welcomed myself into the gym and immediately went to the punching bag. I took off my leather jacket and dropped it on the floor with my bag and started practicing some moves.

I let out some steam as my mind started dragging it's way to Kai. He was so close when he trapped me in, but I'm glad I figured out what he was doing and moved before it could go any further. See, I know guys like Kai, he's the type to think he can get any girl he wants because that's how big his ego is. Honestly, he bothers me, he irritates me, and I don't care how hot he is, I don't think it looks good on a guy whenever they take advantage of their looks just to get in a girl's pants. It's disgusting and it totally ruins a girl's pride. That's why, I have not given into a guy, that's why I don't talk to anybody, because they're all irrelevant and they just come into your life to waste your time and break whatever is left of you unless you're already broken. I will not give in...

I will not give in...

I will not give in...
