Book 3: Chapter 25: Theaâs Judgment (1)
The golden-robed priest didnât expect that this young girl with a sinister-looking demon mask would not only fight him in front of the huge crowd, but also try to kill him.
Even if she had a saint-level expert with her, this was Aeria â the place that was closest to the Radiant Goddess.
âYou!â
The small fist instantly enlarged as it drew closer to the priestâs eyes. Before it even reached him, the wind it carried broke his skin and drew blood. The priest couldnât even process the pain in time, let alone cast magic to block the punch.
It was at this critical moment, that the robe the priest was wearing burst into dazzling golden light, weakening the strength in Lilithâs fist. The punch which could have blown the priestâs head like a watermelon ended up only causing the expression on his face to contort by the time it connected.
Even so, it was still enough to render the weak golden-robed priest useless in combat.
The golden-robed priest tumbled like a fish. He flipped 7,200 degrees through the air before crashing into the gallow behind him and breaking it.
âTch, how fortunate of you.â
Lilith glanced at the golden robe that had withstood ninety percent of the force in her punch, only to find that it had dimmed. She immediately lost her interest and ignored the unconscious priest.
When the other priests and templars saw their boss being knocked down with just a punch, no one dared to stand in Lilithâs way. They just let her go to Jasmine and break the noose around her neck.
âAlright, you can go now.â
âYouâreâ¦â Jasmineâs face was tear-stained and blood-streaked. It also seemed like she hadnât recovered from the shock of this incident yet.
âYou donât recognize me?â Lilith was astonished.
âHow am I supposed to recognize you when youâre wearing a mask?â Jasmine tilted her head, while thinking to herself that her savior seemed to be quite a silly goose.
âI seeâ¦â Lilithâs lips curled into a smile as she deliberately deepened her tone, âIt doesnât matter who I am.â
âBut how can I ever repay you if I donât know who you are?â
âI didnât rescue you to be rewarded.â
âThenâ¦â
Lilith made a pose that she thought would look cool and said, âI am a chivalrous warrior who never needs a reason to lend a hand.ân/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
âSo⦠So cool!â Jasmineâs eyes sparkled, completely ignoring the fact that this âcoolâ warrior before her was just a loli that was about the same size as her.
Lilith patted Jasmine on her shoulder, âAlright, you shouldnât stay here any longer. Go now.â
âT-Then⦠how can I meet you again?â Jasmine clasped her hands in front of her chest, acting all girly.
âOur next meeting shall be decided by⦠fate.â
The light in Jasmineâs eyes dimmed slightly, âOh⦠I seeâ¦â
âButâ¦â Lilith paused briefly before continuing, âI think fate still has a lot in store for us.â
âR-Reallyâ¦?â
âBut of course, I never lie.â
After hearing that, Jasmineâs gloominess instantly cleared up.
âMy name is Jasmine, Ayasha Jasmine.â
She pecked on Lilithâs mask with lightning speed, then smiled at her as gorgeously as a blooming lily.
âWell then, I shall look forward to our next fateful meeting!â
After saying that, even Jasmine was embarrassed by her own words. She lowered her head, blushed and quickly disappeared from Lilithâs sight.
Lilith caressed her own mask, wondering to herself if she had just been sexually assaulted.
However, this wasnât the time to care about that kind of thing because an even bigger trouble awaited her.
The moment Lilith knocked the golden-robed priest down, the crowd had pretty much dispersed. Although Sae had established a domain, it wouldnât prevent ordinary people from leaving.
Hence, a huge open space was cleared.
At the far end of this open space where illusion and reality blurred, stood a girl in white.
Although she wasnât the most stunning girl in the world, she was attracting a lot of light by just standing there.
âHow did you find me?â Lilith asked.
âBy following the guidance of the goddess,â Thea replied with a smile. Even so, Lilith couldnât feel the smile in her eyes.
âAnd, youâre here to take me back?â
âNo,â Thea shook her head. âI didnât bring anyone with me. If I did, Sae wouldnât allow me to enter.â
âThen what can you possibly do alone?â
âIâm only here because I have a question for you, Lilith.â
âWhat is it?â
âWhy⦠Why did you do that?â
There was a trace of sadness on Theaâs face.
The vacant houses in the surrounding suddenly caught fire out of the blue, both of them were surrounded by the blazing flame.
That didnât seem like just âa traceâ of sadness.
âIs there any reason that forced you to do that, Lilith? If thatâs the case, thenâ¦â
âThereâs no particular reason. I was simply venting my anger.â
She couldnât even bring herself to lie to Thea when the latter was in this state.
âVenting⦠your anger?â Thea lowered her head and concealed the expression on her face. However, everything around them was engulfed by the flames. Everything that could catch fire was reduced into dust.
âJust to⦠vent your anger?â
There was nothing else to fuel the flames, but they burned with more intensity.
âIf thatâs the case⦠then I can onlyâ¦â Thea raised her head, the transparent droplets on her face instantly evaporating.
âPersonally pass my judgment on you, Lilith!â
Columns of pure white light fell from the sky and caged Thea inside.
The raging flames were instantly extinguished by the brilliance of the pure white light columns.
In the middle of the columns, a pair of white wings sprouted from Theaâs back and slowly spread open.
She looked like an angel who had just descended.
