Book 3: Chapter 29: The Other Me In The Mirror
In the empty void, all she could see was darkness.
It was at that very moment, a boundless mirror appeared at the bottom of the darkness.
Even without light, Lilith could clearly see the mirror. Perhaps she wasnât even using her âsightâ to perceive this existence.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
As soon as she âsawâ the mirror, she saw her own reflection in it too.
Blonde hair and golden eyes. A delicate doll-like face. A loli figure of less than 1.3 meters tall. This was undoubtedly her original appearance.
It seemed like the soul looked exactly the same as its physical body.
Lilith looked around, but saw no one else around.
There was no doubt that the voice came from within the mirror.
However, there was only her own reflection in the mirror.
âHey, where are you looking at?â The âLilithâ in the mirror suddenly asked.
âWho are you?â Lilith was shocked as she looked at her own âreflectionâ that was moving on its own in alarm.
âWho am I?â The âLilithâ in the mirror smiled mysteriously. âAm I not you?â
âMe?â
What the heck?
How did another me come into existence?
Could it be thatâ¦
âDid I finally crack from the pressure of failing to obtain a stronger âpowerâ?â
âNo, you didnât. Since I said I am you, that means I know everything about you. I even know where exactly you hid your study materials in your previous life, so please stop making a fool out of yourself by cracking such a lame joke.â The âLilithâ in the mirror suddenly pressed herself up against the mirror, causing ripples on the surface. The smile on her face grew even stranger.
âArenât you more curious about the reason you are here?â
âIsnât it because Iâm dead?â
âHaha, how could that body die so easily? Even if a god personally descends, obliterating that body will still be an extremely difficult feat, let alone a false divine power that didnât carry the laws of the gods.â
âYou mean Iâm not dead yet?â
âOf course.â
âSo thereâs no way for me to reincarnate?â
âOf course.â
Lilith suddenly hugged her head and squatted down in agony.
âDoes that mean that I have to bear the tragic fate of going against the god while knowing that Iâll lose again just because of the mean things Iâve said in the past? Not only that, I still have to encounter all kinds of incompetent teammates. Come to think of it, Iâll be going up against god with just a bunch of incompetent teammates. Oh god, just let me die!â
The âLilithâ in the mirror squatted down too, expressionlessly. She looked at Lilith who appeared to be unwilling yet was smiling faintly. âDonât worry, you wonât have incompetent teammates.â
âReally?â
âOf course.â The Lilith in the mirror suddenly smiled cruelly, âBecause you wonât be having any teammates in the future⦠Youâll only be facing an endless stream of enemies.â
âWho are you anyway?â Lilith stood up and asked seriously.
âI told you already, Iâm you.â
Lilith was silent, but roamed her eyes over herself in the mirror from top to toe countless times.
No matter how she looked at it, the person in the mirror was an exact replica of herself.
Her height, body size, the details to the even position of the most inconspicuous mole was exactly the same. It was really her own reflection in the mirror. Yet there was unprecedented cruelty and violence in the smile of her reflection in the mirror.
She looked like a docile sheep compared to the time when her bloodline was activated. Apart from cruelty and violence, Lilith also saw a trace of⦠loneliness.
âWhere is this place?â
âFinally a serious question.â The Lilith in the mirror pointed to the sky, âYou should know where this is.â
Above her head, the pale golden sun was constantly emitting warm light. From that little sun, Lilith sensed a familiar aura.
âCould it beâ¦â
âThatâs right. You are in your body.â The person in the mirror stared into Lilithâs eyes, âAnd I am the other you.â
Another me? Or is she the original owner of this body, the real dragon princess?
But that Radiant B̲i̲t̲c̲h̲ claimed that I was the soul that was stripped out of her body twenty years ago. The ancestor couldnât have possibly recognized the wrong person.
Thereâs no way he would allow a stranger to be his successor.
Countless questions piled up in Lilithâs heart, but she didnât have the time to ask.
The Lilith in the mirror suddenly looked up, âIt seems like we donât have much time to talk.â
The pale golden sun, or to be more exact, the ancestorâs blood above her head shone brighter as it drew closer to her.
The Lilith in the mirror raised her hand and a ball of black flame suddenly appeared in her hand.
âIâll lend you this for now.â
The black flame easily melted a hole in the mirror that was just wide enough for an arm to pass through. The Lilith in the mirror stuck her arm through and pushed the black flame into Lilithâs body.
âJust rely on your instincts⦠to use it. After all, this thing is considered yours too.â
Lilithâs consciousness suddenly grew blurry.
Just when Lilithâs consciousness was about to completely disappearâ¦
A voice suddenly rang in her ears.
The person in the mirror looked at Lilith with a smile, but her lips werenât moving and were therefore not producing any sound.
Even so, Lilith still clearly heard the question that could subvert all her cognition.
âAre you reallyâ¦â¦â¦?â
