Book 4: Chapter 15: Academy Festival
After subduing the Inhuman Club, Lilith went back to the headquarters of the disciplinary committee with Kieran.
As for the aftermath, Lilith left a large bag of gold coins for the members of the Inhuman Club for the repairs because she couldnât be bothered to do any of it herself. The amount of gold coins she left behind were more than enough to build ten of the same building, so there shouldnât be any problem.
She opened the door to the presidentâs office. Diana was seated behind her desk awaiting Lilithâs return, not at all surprised.
âAs expected, you were able to subdue the Inhuman Club so quickly. What a great surprise it is.â
âIâm the one who is surprised to find that the news has reached you this quickly, president. I actually came back directly without wasting any time.â
âDonât be.â
Diana brushed it off and handed Lilith a badge with a special sword symbol on it.
âYouâre officially the vice president of the disciplinary committee now. This badge is the symbol of your status, make sure you donât lose it.â
âOkay,â Lilith took the badge. âThen what exactly should I do as a vice president?â
âYou donât know?â
âAm I supposed to?â
âI guess youâre the first in this academy to become a vice president without first knowing what you should do.â
Diana pointed to the door on the right. âThatâs your office. Open it up and youâll know what you should do as the vice president.â
Lilith suddenly had a bad premonition.
She slowly pushed the door open and was greeted by the sight of an office that wasnât inferior to the presidentâs office. Although it was an extremely spacious room, it had a rather depressive atmosphere.
The source was probably the piles of various documents that were stacked to the ceiling. They certainly had a⦠rather strong presence in the room.
âW-What⦠are these?â
Lilithâs voice trembled.
âAhh, canât help it. Since the position of vice president has been vacant for several months, the tasks that required attention started piling up quite a bit.â
âYouâre calling this âa bitâ? I think your definition of âa bitâ is rather questionable.â
Looking at those documents that were piled up like small mountains made Lilith want to escape for the very first time.
Diana rubbed her neck and averted her gaze.
âWell, generally speaking, the vice presidentâs job is to assist me in some matters. After all, this academy is huge, I canât do everything alone.â
âAre you sure it is assisting you instead of doing it for you?â
âO-Of course it is to assist me. Even if itâs me, I wouldnât have piled everything up from the previous semester until now just because of the semester break, much less pushing my work to the newly appointed vice president just because I want to go to the academy festival. Yup, these are all the tasks that the vice president should handle.ân/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Diana nodded and said firmly.
Stareeee~
âI⦠Iâm not lying.â
Stareeee~
âIâm really not lying. Iâve really done todayâs work.â
Stare harder~
âFine, I got it. I admit I couldnât finish my work, okay?â Diana covered her face and sobbed.
âToday is the annual academy festival, but thereâs more work than usual. Who could possibly finish it? Is it wrong for me to go out and have a little bit of fun? Is it? Is it? Just a bit of fun would give me the motivation to work, but you just had to expose me. Canât you just pretend that you didnât know?â
âBut look at how much has accumulated! I bet you havenât been doing your work properly right?â
ââ¦â¦..â
BAM!
Diana suddenly slammed on the desk hard and stood up with tears in her eyes.
âI donât care. No one can stop me from going to the academy festival today!â
After saying that, Diana suddenly jumped backward. She broke through the french window behind her and vanished from Lilithâs sight.
âACADEMY FESTIVAL, HERE I COME! WAHAHAHAâ¦!â
The cold breeze of Dragon God Lake blew into the office through the broken french window, rolling away the pitifully small stack of papers on the desk.
The moment they were rolled away, Lilithâs eyes were sharp enough to notice that comment sections were all empty.
The corner of her eye twitched.
*******, I canât believe I had a good impression of you!!
It was at this moment, the presidentâs officeâs door opened. A young lady with curly hair came in, dressed in a mature office wear.
Yet not even a trace of surprise was found on her face when she was greeted by the mess in the office. She pushed her glasses up and spoke calmly, âI am Wendy, the presidentâs secretary. You must be the new vice president.â
Lilith nodded.
âWell then, I shall leave this place in your hands, vice president. Iâll get the president back here.â
Wendy took off her glasses, then tore her clothes off under Lilith and Kieranâs horrified gazesâ¦
Only to reveal the skintight black outfit hidden underneath them.
She then strode toward the hole that Diana made earlier and leaped out without missing a beat, vanishing from Lilithâs sight.
The huge office instantly fell silent, save for the sound of the wind and the rushing waterfalls in the distance.
âHey, Kieran. The academy festival that theyâre talking about, is it that fun?â
âOf course. Itâs the academyâs biggest annual festival. Not only the students, even many of the professors are interested. If not, why would they go out of their way to take two days off before the opening ceremony? But then again, the idea of holding the festival at this time is also to help the freshmen to familiarize themselves with the academy so that they can adapt themselves into this environment as soon as possible.â
âI see.â
âUmm⦠Lilith⦠M-Masterâ¦â Kieran was suddenly acting all shy and speaking very respectfully.
âWhat is it?â
âYour humble servant, I, have a date with my girlfriend tonight⦠Can⦠you lend me that illusion gem?â
âWhat are you talking about? Lend you?â
âC-Can⦠you?â
âOf course not! You are my secretary, Kieran!! Itâs just an illusion gem, how could I possibly lend you?â Lilith fished out the gem, then shoved it into Kieranâs arms.
âItâs yours now!â
âHuuuuh? For real?â
âOf course. I never lie.â
Kieran nearly burst into tears. This was the first time he realized that Lilith wasnât such a devil.
Lilith patted him on his shoulder. âAlright, get to work. Your girlfriend will be mad if youâre late.â
âGot it! Iâll definitely⦠Huuuh⦠what work?â
âWhat work?â Lilith turned her head around adorably. âDealing with these documents of course. Isnât that the job of a secretary?â
âWhy would it be?! Isnât that your job?!â
âIs it?â
Lilith scratched her head in distress. âThatâs kind of troublesome. I donât want to touch these headache-inducing stuff. Oh well, I donât care as long as someone can deal with these troublesome stuff. I have high hopes on you, Kieran~â
Kieran fist trembled with the illusion gem in it, as it finally dawned on him that he had completely fallen into Lilithâs trap.
âAh, by the way,â Lilith added with a smile, âIf you dare to sneak out without finishing this, then you will no longer be Kieran (â), but Kiera (â) for the rest of your life.â
ââ¦â¦â¦â
As expected, this person named Lilith is truly a devil!
â¦â¦â¦
Lilith headed straight to the dorm, but found many places on her way back completely different than they were in the morning.
Lights and colored banners were everywhere, giving the places a festive atmosphere.
Students were seen traveling through the usually deserted paths. Everyoneâs face was filled with excitement and anticipation.
When Lilith was back at the dorms, Thea seemed to have heard about the festival from elsewhere and was already fully charged up for it.
Before Lilith could even sit down to take a break, she was pulled by an excited Thea to the academy festival along with Brea, who was never fond of strangers.
A burst of brilliant fireworks rose in the distance, announcing the official opening of the St. Caroline Academy Festival.
