Book 4: Chapter 24: Lesson Time
It was noontime and the scorching sun was high up in the sky.
Lilith and Diana were walking back to the auditorium in single file
âHey martial niece, I wonder if Elder Mord is pissed since both of us ran off despite being in charge of the disciplinary committee.â
âIt should be fine. Iâve handed over the remaining tasks to Wendy. Nothing should go wrong. Even if heâs Elder Mord, he wouldnât just get angry about trivial things like you insulting the entire school or me running away in front of the entire school.â
âHm,â Lilith nodded. âBy the way, why are you keeping a distance from me? Didnât I tell you that Iâm forgiving enough to forget about whatever happened earlier?â
Diana, who was more than ten meters away from Lilith, hurriedly shook her head. âLead the way, Lilith. Iâll be right behind you. Donât worry, I know my way very well around the academy. I wonât get lost.â
âLilith? Should you be addressing me this way?â Lilith threw a glance at Diana and narrowed her eyes.
ââ¦M-Martial⦠aunt.â
Diana tearfully squeezed the two humiliating words through her teeth.
On the other hand, Lilith had a look of satisfaction on her face.
It was as though there was an all-meat buffet.
âThat damn old man actually agrees to such an absurd thing about accepting a disciple on behalf of his master. He doesnât even have a master!â Diana muttered under her breath with red eyes.
âChill, chill. Life is always filled with twists and turns. You have to think positively. At least I wonât be shoving a saint-level scroll down your throat any time I want, right?â
Lilith walked up to Diana, stood on tiptoe and patted her on the head.
Due to height difference, poor Diana had no choice but to lower her head.
Damn it, itâs all that old b̲a̲s̲t̲a̲r̲d̲âs fault!
President Diana lowered her head. The unprecedented humiliation that she felt nearly reduced her to tears.
But then again, she was already on the verge of tears.
Not only did he agree to the idea of Lilith becoming his junior martial sister, he even told her, his only disciple, to obey everything that Lilith, her martial aunt, said.
All just because he wanted to pass on his s̲h̲i̲t̲t̲y martial skills!
Goddammit! Did he pick me up from somewhere?
After thinking about it carefully, she had no parents.
So her master really picked her up from somewhere!
S̲h̲i̲t̲! Does being picked up mean one would be denied human rights?!
âSince thereâs nothing else for us to do back there, letâs find a place to eat. Itâs already noon and your martial aunt is starving.â
âFine. What do you want to eat, Li⦠martial aunt?â
âMeat. Iâll eat anything except dragon meat.â
The corner of Dianaâs mouth twitched as she thought to herself that even if Lilith wanted to eat dragon meat, she wouldnât know where to find it.
âOh right, this mealâs on you.â
âHuh? Why?â
âApprenticeship banquet.â Lilith shot her a strange look. âShouldnât there be one?â
âDisciples only host apprenticeship banquets for their masters!â
âCanât you do that for your martial aunt?â Lilith widened her huge eyes and asked innocently.
Diana held her forehead.
Why did she tease her in the first place?
She should have just brought her directly to the old man back then.
At least she would have a cute little junior martial sister.
The evil we brought upon ourselves was⦠indeed the hardest to bearâ¦
âFine, itâs on meâ¦â
âFor real? Great! But your martial aunt has a rather huge appetite. I hope you donât mind.â
âNot at all.â
How big could a loliâs appetite be?
However, at this point in time, President Diana didnât know how broke this meal would leave her.
After all, that wasnât a loli but a dragon in a loliâs skin.
By the time Lilith returned to the dorms, it was already two in the afternoon.
During these two hours, she watched as Dianaâs nonchalant expression turned from shock to disbelief, and then finally to pale and extreme heartache. At least Lilithâs mood was greatly lifted.
All the anger she felt in the morning had dissipated.
She hummed a little tune and pushed open the dorm, only to find that Thea and Brea werenât in the dorm room. There was a note on Theaâs bed though.
Thereâll be a class at 2:30 in the afternoon. Donât be late.
Remember to put on your uniform.
From Thea.
PS: Your speech from this morning was really cool.
âTwo-thirty? Guess I better hurry. Otherwise, Iâll be late again.â
She tossed the note before picking up the neatly folded uniform from her bed and measured it against herself in front of the full-length mirror.
âStrange. I remember the academy didnât take my measurements. How did this fit so well?â
The form-fitting silvery-white uniform looked perfectly with Lilithâs long blonde hair from every angle. It was as if it was specially designed for her.
Then again, this was nothing more than a narcissistic statement. After all, no academy would go through the trouble of designing a uniform specifically for a student.
âAlright, time to go.â
Lilith pinned the sword-shaped badge that symbolized her identity as the vice president of the disciplinary committee on her chest, then marched out of the door valiantly.
A few minutes later, she rushed back to the room.
After rummaging through the room, she finally found the note that Thea left for her again.
She read it over and over again, but didnât find the information she needed.
âShe said thereâs class but where? The academy is so huge, I canât possibly go around searching every room!â she cried tearlessly.
â¦â¦â¦
Eastern District, Lecture Building 5.
Class 9 of first-year.
Miguel, the class teacher, walked into the classroom and glanced around the room. âThere shouldnât be any more latecomers after experiencing the first class right? Well then, Iâll start the roll call now.â
It was then a trembling hand appeared in Miguelâs line of sight.
âWhat is it? Speak!â
âUm⦠Sirâ¦â Thea scratched her cheek and spoke up shyly, âLilith⦠seems to be late again.â
Miguel was stupefied.
âLate again? Is she undermining my authority? Or becoming the unprecedented vice president from first-year has gone to her head?â
âWell⦠Lilith had to deliver a speech on behalf of the disciplinary committee this morning. Itâs only normal that she didnât receive the class notice from you.â
âOhoho, normal?â Miguel snorted coldly. âDo I look like I care? If she doesnât show up in ten seconds, Iâll tear her apart.â
Thea instantly shrunk. âDo⦠Do you have to?â
âWhat do you mean âdo I have to?â Would she be afraid of me tearing her apart after dishing all those insults in front of the entire academy?â
Miguel sneered, âOne.â
âTwo.â
âThree.â
âSeven.â
âHey, sir! Youâre counting wrongly!â
âWhat do you mean wrong? This was how my P.E. teacher taught me to count.â
ââ¦â¦â
âEight.â
âNineâ¦â
âTEN!!!!â
Mr. Miguel moved his wrists while wearing a sinister smile on his face.
It was at this timeâ¦
âGet out of the way! Lilith is about to land!â
A black shadow flew in at high speed from outside the classroom window, and then slammed right into Miguelâs head.
Mr. Miguel couldnât even wipe the sinister smile off his face in time before everything in front of him turned black.
