Book 5: Chapter 181: Personality Correction
As soon as the man heard this, he instinctively sensed something was amiss. But before he could react, a petite fist collided with his cheek.
âHuh?â
In a flash, the manâs mind nearly blanked out. He didnât even see Lilith throwing the punch; it just connected to his cheek with a powerful force.
The divine speed he prided himself on was rendered completely useless. Lilith didnât give him a chance to employ it. Instead, she swiftly knocked him to the ground with a single punch.
âOW!â
Pain always came with a slight delay. By the time the man screamed, Lilith was already straddling him, raining down punches on his face.
âWaitâ¦â
Pow!
âI haveâ¦â
Pow!
âSomething to sayâ¦â
Pow!
âPleaseâ¦â
Pow! Pow! Pow!
âHow violent! Thatâs too violent!â
Erica parted the bush she was hiding behind, peeking through the foliage as Lilith mercilessly pummeled the man. Teeth flew like shooting stars, prompting Erica to instinctively cover her mouth, fearing her own teeth might meet a similar fate.
The man found himself unable to mount any resistance as Lilithâs small frame effortlessly pinned him down, quelling his movements.
He raised a hand, perhaps to retaliate or surrender, but Lilith stomped on it, grinding it into the ground with a sickening crunch reminiscent of a cockroach being crushed.
âIâm glad I didnât underestimate her,â Erica thought, wiping the cold sweat from her brow before clasping her hands together to silently thank the mighty Dragon God. She couldnât believe she was still alive after the encounter with Lilith.
Eventually, the manâs struggles weakened, his head swinging like that of a broken branch under Lilithâs relentless assault.
It was only then that Lilith finally ceased her assault, smacking her lips as if she was far from satisfied.
âWhat a weakling. Is this all youâve got?â
Turning her head, Lilith called out, âHey⦠whatâs her name againâ¦? Oh, Erica!â
âComing!â Erica replied eagerly, scrambling to Lilith as if she had been called to dinner by her own mother.
âWhat can I do for you, my lady?â Erica asked.
âDonât call me that. Can you heal him?â Lilith said, pointing to the battered man.
âYes, of course! I can bring back even someone who is halfway to hell as long as you wish for it!â
Erica smiled obsequiously as she clasped her hands together. A green light bloomed from her palms, radiating a refreshing vitality.
Lilith took a deep breath, feeling immediately rejuvenated as her fatigue melted away.
âPretty impressive,â Lilith praised. Ericaâs healing abilities had indeed exceeded her expectations.
âHehe. I told you Iâm a great healer.â Erica chuckled, scratching her head shyly.
With a gentle wave of her hand, the green light floated toward the manâs chest before entering it. As the green light sunk into his body, his injuries began to visibly heal before their eyes.
Soon, he looked almost as good as new, save for the pale face. Even his missing teeth grew back.
âHuh? What happened?â The man woke up groggily, his eyes filled with confusion as if he had just awoken from a strange dream. It wasnât until he saw Lilith that he let out a shrill scream.
âDevil! Monster! Witch! Stay away from me, you monster in human skin! No wonder your chest is so flat, you must be a monster in disguise!â
Lilith turned to Erica with an unreadable expression. âCan you use that spell again?â
âHuh? Yes, though it drains a lot of my magic power. I can probably use it five or six times a day,â Erica replied honestly.
âFive or six times,â Lilith muttered under her breath, her eyes gleaming maliciously as she looked at the man who continued hurling insults at her.
Sensing the chilling aura emanating from Lilith, the man trembled in fear. When he caught sight of the cruel smile on Lilithâs face, a look of terror washed over his features.
âWait, I was just-â¦â
Pow! First punch.
âSorryâ¦â
Pow! Second punch.
âI was wrongâ¦â
Pow!
Third punch.
âSpare meâ¦â
Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow! Countless punches rained down on him.
Erica discreetly stepped back to avoid the splattering blood, mindful of the expensive new dress Grandma had bought her to celebrate her advancement to the second round.
After a minute of relentless assault, Lilith shook the blood off her hands and commanded, âHeal him.â
âOkay.â Erica obediently unleashed her strongest healing spell.
âUgh⦠Iâ¦â The man regained consciousness again, but before he could say anything, Lilith began correcting his personality again.
Pow! Pow! Pow!
It wasnât until Erica was out of breath and couldnât cast another healing spell that Lilith lowered her fist, albeit with a hint of reluctance, as if unsatisfied.
âIâm sorry!â
Upon waking up again, the man skipped the usual groans of pain and immediately began apologizing tearfully and sincerely.
âIâm truly sorry, I shouldnât have been so arrogant and hurled insults at you. Iâm just a worthless piece of trash, unworthy to even breathe. Iâm as disgusting as a piece of d̲o̲gs̲h̲i̲t̲ by the road! Punching me will only dirty your fist but to have any physical contact with someone as noble as you is a blessing I could only dream of! Iâm so touched, so incredibly touched⦠Iâm crying tears of gratitudeâ¦â
âHmm, not bad,â Lilith remarked with satisfaction, patting the manâs head as if he were a puppy.
âMy personality correction seems to be quite effective. It appears Iâve saved yet another lost soul.â
âYes, yes, you are right. My soul was on the brink of being led astray. It was you who saved me and brought me back to life. Thank you so much!â the man sobbed gratefully.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
âNo need to thank me, itâs the least we could do,â Lilith replied graciously.
With a sense of accomplishment, Lilith got up and dusted her hands, basking in the manâs newfound appreciation.
âDo you now understand how strong I am?â she asked.
âYes, yes, deeply.â
âAnd do you believe in Lady Ericaâs strength now?â
âHuh?â Erica was taken aback by Lilithâs sudden focus on her.
She looked at Lilith blankly at first, but as soon as she caught Lilithâs kind gaze, Erica managed an awkwardly polite smile.
