"Is everything fine?" he asked Ryder.
"Everything couldnât be better," Ryder replied as he smiled.
"I just met a long lost friend, and he got a little too drunk. Iâll be taking my friend with me. See you later," He said as he picked up the unconscious man on his shoulders and left the club.
Makk stayed behind, looking towards the door.
"I guess he met his enemy. I didnât know Ryder was like us. That guy would probably be dead soon," Makk muttered as he smiled. He went back to his work.
"It didnât give me experience. Apparently, holding someoneâs collar isnât an attack. It shouldâve been. It was hostility targeted to me when my collar was held. I shouldâve received my exp," Ryder muttered as he sighed.
He stood outside the club and called the pilot. Since he got the men faster, he decided to spend the rest of his time in the helicopter, guiding everyone from the air and to Teleport the bombs to his invention without any delay as soon as the guards got it.
In a few minutes, the helicopter arrived and flew right above Ryder. A rope ladder was hanging from the helicopter.
Ryder adjusted the man on his shoulder before he started climbing the rope ladder.
As he entered the helicopter, he tossed the man on the floor and told the pilot to go Higher.
"Itâs 9:30. We have half an hour more. All the terrorists should be at their location soon," Ryder muttered as he looked at the time on his phone.
"Uhmm..."
Ryder was about to Call the guards again to make sure that they were alert when he heard a whimper.
"Heâs waking up," he muttered as he looked the man wake up.
Ryder stood up and walked towards the man, but his face turned pale as he heard a loud blast.
He stood near the door of the helicopter and looked outside. He could see smoke and a cloud of dust rising in the sky at the place where one of the targeted hotels was supposed to be.
"T-this canât be! Itâs not the time yet!" Ryder let out with a shocked look on his face, but thatâs when he heard another blast.
It was only 9:35, but Ryder could hear blasts at various locations of the city.
Soon, he had heard thirteen blasts.
He tried calling the guards, but the calls werenât connecting.
Ryder didnât understand what was happening. Why was the future different? He just took one piece of the fourteen terrorists without leaving any chance of anyone finding out. The other terrorists shouldnât know about this. Why did they blow up so early? He couldnât understand anything. All he knew was that his first try was already a failure.
He didnât even know what went wrong. Everyone seemed to be going so perfect, yet it went down the drain suddenly. He didnât understand why it happened. All he knew was that he was feeling angry at this unexpected failure.
Even the Pilot was shocked. He had heard Ryder talking about blasts. He didnât believe it even for a single second. He thought they were playing pretend. Now that he saw the blast, he didnât know what to say. He focused on controlling the plain amidst the energy blasts.
Shu was at home, but he was also shocked when he was informed about the blasts. He didnât know what to think.
He watched the news talking about the blasts.
"He was right. The blasts did happen. Just how did he know? Is he really someone who can see the future? The blasts happened at the locations he talked about. Only the timing of the blasts seems to be different. I hope he isnât hurt," Shu muttered as he pulled out his phone and called Ryder.
Ryder looked back at the terrorist he had caught.
He walked up to him and caught him by the neck, raising him in the air.
Thatâs when Ryderâs phone started ringing.
He held the manâs neck in his right hand and picked up the call with his left.
"Hello?" He called in a severe tone.
"Ah, brother Ryder. Youâre fine. Iâm so glad. I thought that something might have happened since the blasts happened half an hour before the assumed time. There were only thirteen blasts, though. Did you stop the one at your location?" Shu asked Ryder.
"Yeah, I was wrong. I could only save one place. Everyone else is dead. I couldnât save people. I even caused the death of your men. I failed," Ryder muttered in a grim tone.
"Ah, donât think that! So what if you couldnât save everyone? Even if it was the government, itâs impossible to stop the attacks in such a large quantity in such a short time. You already did well. You stopped one blast and saved so many lives," Shu comforted Ryder.
" Alice, and you are safe, right?" Ryder asked Shu.
"Ah, yeah. Sheâs in her room. I told her that you had to cancel the dinner plans because of an important meeting that just came. Sheâs in her room since then," Shu replied.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Thatâs good," Ryder said, nodding his head.
" Anyway, Iâll call you later. I have one of the terrorists in my hand. Iâll talk to you after I finish interrogating him," Ryder said before he disconnected the call.
" Are you going to speak, or should I kill you directly?" Ryder asked the man who was in his hand.
"Kill me! Iâm not telling you anything," The man told Ryder firmly.
"Sure. If thatâs what you want, then Iâll do it. I should let you know that I like taking my time when I kill people," Ryder said as he brought a knife out of his inventory.
The man glared at Ryder and said, "Do your worst!"
"Sure. I didnât need your permission, though. Iâm already in a very pissed mood. Iâm going to enjoy it," Ryder said as he smiled.
He gripped the knife firmly and stabbed it in the elbow of the man. The knife penetrated the elbow of the man, making him scream loudly.
"Youâre screaming with just that? Control yourself. I donât want you to lose your voice before we get to the main course," Ryder said as he looked at the knife that was stabbed in the elbow of the man.
He held the knife firmly before he started sliding the knife lower without pulling the knife out. The Knife had completely penetrated the hand of the man, and it kept sliding lower, slicing the manâs hand in half longitudinally.
The man screamed like a dying pig. His eyes were red as tears kept falling down from her eyes.
